Hey everyone, hope you're doing well.
So, my old power banks finally gave up the ghost. They were both 5000mAh, so when it was time to replace them, I prioritized quality and then battery capacity. Plus, there are situations where a power bank is a lifesaver – like long car rides or a random power outage at home.
I haven't had time to hunt for deals, so I just searched online and found this Xiaomi external battery on Yandex Market. I'd already heard great things about Xiaomi's quality, and since my phones are Xiaomi too, it seemed like a no-brainer.
I paid 1650 rubles for it, which is a bit above the average price on the market – but I'm happy to pay a bit more for quality.
Xiaomi External Battery
The battery arrived in a sleek, high-quality box with the Xiaomi logo on top – very minimal info on the front side.

The main description is on the other side, along with a special holographic sticker with a code underneath a protective layer. You can check on Xiaomi's website if it's an original product or not – I checked mine, and it's legit.
Xiaomi External Battery
It's made in China, as indicated by the sticker below the hologram, with the importer in Russia being OOO "Region Retail" – so there's someone to send complaints to if needed.

Xiaomi Power Bank When I opened the box, I was immediately struck by the premium feel of the packaging – everything's neatly separated and securely packed. The power bank itself, a USB-A/USB Type-C cable, and a quick-start guide are all included. I love that the cable is USB Type-C, as it's now the most common type and makes it easy to find a charging point.
Xiaomi Power Bank In the box, you'll find a warranty card and a brief product description.

Xiaomi Power Bank One thing that really stood out to me was the ridiculously short length of the cable – just 20cm. It's a shame, because it makes it difficult to place the power bank near a power outlet, and you definitely can't use it to charge your device while it's on your desk.
Xiaomi Power Bank On the bottom of the power bank, you'll find a duplicate of the product information, including the battery capacity and most of the technical specs.
Xiaomi Power BankInitially all ports are covered with a thick sticker, unfortunately, it's a one-time use and won't stick back after removal, so you'll probably need to buy a protective case. It's not very convenient to carry around in its box.
Xiaomi Power BankAs you can see on the photo, there are two USB-A ports for charging, a USB Type-C port for charging, and a power button that also serves as a battery level indicator.
When you press it once, the indicators light up showing the battery level, with one indicator representing 25% charge. Pressing it again allows you to charge low-power devices like headphones. Phones will charge automatically.

Xiaomi Power BankInitially, my power bank arrived completely drained, 0%, and it took around 7 hours to fully charge it. You can also determine how much is charged by looking at the indicators, with one steady light representing 25% charge, two lights for 50%, and so on.
The power bank can supply up to 9V, and I charged my two phones to around 20% and then left them to charge. Both phones charged fully, and there was still a quarter of the charge left in the power bank. I judged this by the indicator, so the power seems to match the advertised capacity.
I've already done multiple charge cycles, and I didn't fully charge it this time, as the manufacturer recommends not keeping it at 100% for longer lifespan.

In my opinion, after a month of use, this power bank has been great, no issues whatsoever. It looks sturdy and stylish, with an aluminum body, although it won't protect against a big fall, it might save it sometimes. I'd definitely recommend buying it, even though there are many similar options at lower prices on the market. I think it's worth the investment, rather than risking a lower price and potentially getting a lower-quality product.
Thanks for reading my review.
