I recently replaced my old chainsaw, which had seen better days. It was in dire need of a replacement, and I decided to go with Stihl – a brand I've worked with before. They've got a reputation for producing high-quality and reliable tools, but you can bet your bottom dollar they come with a hefty price tag.
I picked it up at a local store for 23,000 rubles. The salesman was so confident in his product that he offered to repair it for free, no matter how many years go by since the purchase. Essentially, he gave me a lifetime guarantee on it. Given that this wasn't his first sale of this particular model, I think he was justified in making that promise.
Unpacking.
The chainsaw came in a simple cardboard box with minimal information on it.
Despite being a German brand, the product was made in the same place it always has been.
Design.

Kit.
The kit came with a manual, a basic screwdriver.
And a key-screwdriver. It's a good idea to carry it with you, so you can remove the chain if it gets stuck during use. Even this chainsaw isn't immune to that.
These nuts hold the chain wheel perfectly in place.
The seller even threw in a spare spark plug with the purchase.
What was missing from the package, though, was a protective cover. But we had one from another drill, so it didn't make a huge difference.
Oil.
We use the original oil because the drill is expensive, and we don't want to damage it. So, we have to spend a bit more on the oil too.
In use.
The drill starts easily, and it's a breeze to work with – it's not finicky at all.
Of course, even with proper maintenance and usage, you'll eventually need to sharpen the chain or replace it. That's just the nature of things.
The chain wheel from another drill (a Partner) didn't fit as a replacement, so make sure to get the original one. The chain itself is also specific to each drill, depending on the number of teeth.
The verdict.
All in all, we're completely satisfied with the purchase, and the price is well justified. I'd give it 5 stars and definitely recommend it.
