I have to say, this sterilizer has been a total game-changer for me as a mom of a baby on formula!
With my first child, we had a sterilizer that was super inconvenient because it only kept the temperature for 2 hours - I had no idea there were better options out there.
When it broke, I was actually relieved and started looking for a replacement on Ozon right away.
After ordering, it arrived at the pickup point the very next day - super fast!
The price was also ridiculously affordable, I paid 1473 rubles in January 2024. Of course, prices change, but at under 2000 rubles, it's definitely a great value for money.
It came in a cardboard box, which I unfortunately threw away.
Inside, besides the device, there was a package with accessories for bottle care - various brushes and clamps.
And also a silicone mat for sterilization.
The sterilizer looks like a rectangular box with soft edges.
The lid is definitely worth mentioning - it can slightly open on one side, making it perfect for using long bottles.
Capacity for bottles is designed for 2 units. And bottles here will fit any, which is undoubtedly very convenient.
Control is super simple.
There's a display with 4 touch-sensitive buttons. Just below them are 4 icons, but they're not buttons - you don't need to press them. It just highlights the selected mode, nothing more.
And there are 4 modes here:
- Heating
- Defrosting
- Steaming
- Sterilizing
For me, the two most important things are the first and last. I just don't get why anyone would need to defrost and boil - that's what specialized equipment is for, not a baby sterilizer. So, as you've probably gathered, I only use the warming and sterilizing functions. I'll get to those in a minute.
Let's go back to the sensor.
There are four buttons:
- Decrease
- Increase,
- Mode selection
- Turn on
To get started, you press the rightmost button, 'turn on', and then select the mode.
Mode: Warming.
When you choose this mode, the default temperature is 45°. That's way too high, so you can decrease it by pressing the '-' button.
The display will show two numbers. The first is the temperature you've set. The second is the current temperature.
The second number will change and increase until it reaches the set temperature. And then it stays at that temperature for 24 hours! That's super convenient, especially for nighttime feedings. Babies can ask for food at any time, so it's essential to have the right temperature in the bottle at all times.
After 24 hours, the sterilizer will automatically turn off.
For us, it's now just nighttime feedings with formula, so I turn it on in the evening and turn it off after feeding. And that's it until the next evening.
I've been using this device for a full five months now, and it's never let me down!
Now, another crucial mode - sterilization.
No surprise here: bottles need to be thermally treated.
To do this, I first rinse them with a specialized cleaner and then place them upside down on a special mat.
When you switch to sterilization mode, you'll see two numbers on the screen.
The first number is the procedure time - five minutes at 100 degrees.
The second number shows the current water temperature.
So, the water heats up to 100 degrees first, and then the five-minute countdown starts.
I do wish the device could handle two bottles and their corresponding nipples at once, but it's not a deal-breaker.
My only real complaint is the short power cord. You'll need to keep the device close to a power outlet or use an extension cord, which we've had to do.
Other than that, this sterilizer is a total game-changer! It's so compact and takes up minimal space, but the benefits are huge.
I'm absolutely thrilled with its performance, and I think it's a must-have for new moms looking to make parenting a bit easier.
