A Surprisingly Great Thermos Experience: Worth the Hype?
I was skeptical when I started researching thermoses online. Almost every model had some kind of negative review. But this brand seemed to be an exception, and since they offered a guarantee, I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did, as I've been using it for three months without any issues!
PACKAGING. The packaging design really impressed me. It's not often you see companies put this much thought into the packaging, especially for something as mundane as a thermos. The labels are clear, and the text is well-written - even for high-end products.
The box is made of sturdy cardboard:
- here's the key info: volume - 500ml (enough for two cups, and it fits in my bag), after 6 hours they promise to keep the temperature at 72 degrees; it's also great for cold drinks, and they even included a tip on how to make a tea infusion overnight, as well as using the thermos for soups and broths, warranty period - 5 years, model number.Just check out the design of the packaging for the thermos itself:
I've got to say, I'm really impressed with the packaging - the cardboard box and insert are top-notch:
The instruction manual is super detailed and has some nice little touches - I recommend checking out the unique lid design with the pouring channel. It's clearly shown on the first packaging photo, and it looks like this when you twist it open a few turns to pour the contents into the lid-cup:
In its fully open state:
Don't worry about the slight gap when you close the lid - I've tested it multiple times, and the silicone gasket on the black lid keeps liquids from leaking out!I was stoked to find a bonus accessory included with the thermos - a spare lid:
The lid-cup combo is super convenient and comfortable to drink from. It's designed to hold a small amount of liquid, which is crucial for quickly cooling down your tea by at least five degrees. It screws on and off with ease:
More bonus features:
Apparently, to keep your hot drink at the right temperature for longer, you're supposed to rinse the thermos with hot water.
CLEANING AND FEATURES. I was pleasantly surprised by how hot the thermos kept my tea! Each pour required a 5-10 minute wait for the tea to cool down enough not to burn my tongue - and that was hours after the initial pour! I usually add a special tea bag to the thermos, containing green tea leaves and dried rose buds - it's a game-changer, and I highly recommend it. I also make sure to pour in boiling water right away.
The camera didn't catch the steam coming out of the lid, but it was definitely there when I took the shot:
As soon as I get home, I immediately dump the tea bag from the thermos and fill it with room temperature water for 30 minutes, just in case a pigment line forms along the tea boundary – it dissolves or is easier to wipe away. I use those nifty things for washing bottles/thermoses, which I picked up on L'oreal's website:
- the one that's like a sponge-glove is way more suitable than a brush. Important make sure to rinse the thermos with hot water and fill it with tea or coffee right after the kettle boils! Keep an eye out so you're not distracted at this moment, or the drink won't be hot like it's supposed to be.
I also recommend keeping some paper towels handy, just in case a tiny drop of liquid falls from the cup after consumption and you need to dry the lid.
THE VERDICT. This thermos has never let me down in 3 months. The volume is great, as is the quality of the steel. Cleaning is a breeze. Following the recommendations, it keeps the temperature super impressively well!
I've been using this thermos for three months now, and it still looks and performs like new. The packaging is top-notch, and the instruction manual is clear and concise. The lid-cup combo is super convenient and comfortable to drink from, and the silicone gasket on the black lid keeps liquids from leaking out. The thermos itself is well-made and durable, and it's easy to clean.
One thing to note is that the thermos does require some maintenance to keep it in good condition. You'll need to rinse it with hot water and fill it with tea or coffee right after the kettle boils, and you should also keep some paper towels handy in case a tiny drop of liquid falls from the cup after consumption. But these are minor inconveniences compared to the benefits of using this thermos.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this thermos, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient way to keep their drinks hot or cold.
