The color's actually a bit darker blue in real life, but it shows up as either blue or gray in the photos. The fabric's a bit stiff, and the straps are made from the same material.
I was a bit worried that I'd accidentally open the bag and have my laptop fall out, but this one has a lock at the top and a bit on the sides. It's a lot more secure than my previous bags, which just opened like a book.
There are plenty of pockets in the bag, including a small one in front of the strap without a zipper.
The extra compartment on the side has 7 pockets of different sizes, and it zips all the way up. The extra compartment is the full width of the bag.
There's also a pocket on the back under the strap that doesn't zip. There aren't any pockets in the main compartment.
The walls and bottom of the bag are thick and have a dense filler. This thing is just a regular bag without any unique features. The seams are straight, the threads don't stick out, and it's well-made. The zippers work smoothly, and nothing gets caught. My laptop fits in comfortably, but it doesn't bounce around inside.
