Hello everyone!
I was bracing myself for the chill of winter when I stumbled upon Magnit Cosmetics' spring tableware collection. Their beautiful double-glass cup with delicate hydrangea flowers inside caught my eye, and I just had to have it.
Honestly, I wasn't planning on buying anything, but when I stopped by to pick up some dish soap, I thought I'd just take a look at these new items in person. Next thing I knew, I was leaving with a mug and a dinner plate. I also wanted to grab a wine glass, but I managed to talk myself out of it – I've actually quit drinking, you know.
The wine glasses are beautiful, large, and hold 610 ml, but I reminded myself that I only came in for the dish soap.
The mug is available in Magnit Cosmetics in three different designs – with blue, pink, and green flowers. I didn't hesitate to pick the one with the green flowers – it's one of my favorite colors.
I've already had more than a few cups of tea in this mug, and I thought I'd share my thoughts about it.
It's all about the emotions for me.
First impression – it's so light, is it plastic? Then I flipped the mug over and read the information on the sticker on the bottom.
It's made in China, and the material is borosilicate glass. I was curious about what kind of glass that was.
Borosilicate glass is a type of silica glass where the alkaline components in the original raw materials have been replaced by boron oxide. It differs from regular glass in its higher thermal stability and mechanical resistance.
Borosilicate can withstand temperatures up to 170°C and is widely used in the production of glassware, laboratory equipment. This type of glass has significantly higher resistance to mechanical impact than regular glass. Of course, it's still glass and can break if subjected to a strong enough impact.
Borosilicate (heat-resistant) glass is a chemically passive material. It doesn't release any harmful substances into the food being prepared.
So, in short, borosilicate glass is much tougher than regular glass and can withstand high temperatures – it's also harder to break.
How cool is that, I thought.
Apart from that, the mug is quite affordable – 299 rubles. Although, it's supposedly on sale, with the original price crossed out at double the price, but that's probably just a marketing ploy, given that the new stock just arrived.
I actually wanted to get a transparent mug made of double glass with snow inside, which I saw at Lenta in December for 500 rubles, but I didn't end up buying it – and that was probably for the best. Now, I'm not even in the mood for snow, I'm just waiting for spring and the return of nature.
So I'm glad I ended up with this mug, the one with the hydrangeas. By the way, the flowers between the glass panels are real, it's even mentioned on the sticker inside the cup.
The mug seems big, but it's actually a medium size, 300 ml. The inner part where you pour the liquid is significantly smaller than it looks from the outside.
The handle is big and easy to hold.
The glass looks really thick.
It seems like it can withstand any impact, I hope that's really the case.
I didn't get any weird smell from it, I just washed it before the first use and rinsed it with hot water.
It's not recommended to use it in the microwave or dishwasher.
So I'm washing it by hand.
I'm so comfortable drinking from this mug, and it's also giving me a lot of aesthetic pleasure that I've been drinking tea from it for several days now. I've tried all kinds of tea - green, black, and fruity.
I even drank water out of it.
I have to say, I love how it looks with green tea.
For me, the second half of January and February is the hardest emotional period. I really struggle through these months. Usually, it's the coldest time of the year, the New Year's rush is over, and there's a lot of work. It feels like it's only a short time until spring, but it always seems to drag on. Some people get depressed in the fall, but I actually love fall. For me, the most depressing time of the year is the second half of winter.
Anyway, this cup with its delicate spring flowers really lifts my mood for a few minutes. So, it's not just a cup to me, but also a mini antidepressant.
It looks perfect, no chips or scratches on it at all. It's just a beautiful little cup, even if it is from China.
I didn't expect to get so much joy out of it.
I'll tell you about the ceramic plate I bought with this cup in my next review.
Thanks for reading!
I'm really happy with my purchase. The mug is not only beautiful, but it's also functional and durable. I've been using it every day, and it's become a part of my daily routine. I've tried different types of tea in it, and it's performed well with all of them. The handle is comfortable to hold, and the glass is thick and resistant to impact.
I would definitely recommend this mug to anyone looking for a unique and functional piece of tableware. It's a great addition to any kitchen, and it's sure to bring a smile to your face every time you use it.
The mug is made of borosilicate glass, which is a type of glass that's known for its durability and resistance to thermal shock. This means that it can withstand high temperatures without breaking or cracking, making it perfect for hot beverages like tea or coffee.
I've washed it by hand several times, and it's come out looking like new every time. It's not recommended to use it in the microwave or dishwasher, but that's not a problem for me since I prefer to wash it by hand anyway.
One thing to note is that the mug is a bit on the heavier side, but I actually prefer that. It feels solid and substantial in your hands, and it's a great weight for a mug of its size.
I've been using this mug for several days now, and I'm really glad I made the purchase. It's been a great addition to my daily routine, and it's definitely worth the money.
