Granite Dream Non-Stick Frying Pan

I've been cooking with this Granite Dream Non-Stick Frying Pan for a while now, and I'm really impressed with how easy it is to use and clean. The build quality is top-notch, and the smooth cooking surface makes cooking a total breeze - you'll be whipping up meals like a pro in no time. It's perfect for everyday cooking, and the non-stick coating ensures food releases easily, so you don't have to worry about it sticking to the pan. Cleaning is a cinch, and the pan looks like new even after repeated use, which is a huge plus in my book.

check_circlePros

  • The pan's large diameter is perfect for cooking for my family of four.
  • The 28 cm size is ideal for searing burgers and potatoes.
  • The pan itself is pretty heavy-duty, with thick walls and a sturdy bottom.
  • The 'granite' coating looks great, but it's just a visual thing.
  • It's a decent option for those with gas stoves, but I've heard electric stoves can be tougher on pans.
  • The price is relatively affordable compared to other non-stick pans on the market.

cancelCons

  • The non-stick coating failed to deliver and started peeling off after less than a year.
  • Food sticks to the pan, making cooking a real pain.
  • It's not as durable as I expected, and I've had to replace it already.
  • The pan requires a lot of care to maintain its non-stick coating.
  • It's not worth the money, considering the poor performance.
  • I've had to deal with more mess than usual while cooking with this pan.

Editor's Summary

I recently upgraded my frying pan game with the Dream Granite 28 cm Frying Pan with Lid and Non-Stick Coating, Black, but it's been a major disappointment. Despite its solid build quality, the non-stick coating failed to deliver, and I've had to deal with a lot of food sticking to the pan. The large diameter is great for cooking for my family of four, but the pan's durability is a major letdown. I've had my fair share of frying pans, and this one is definitely not worth the hype. With proper care, it might last a bit longer, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

A Frying Pan That Failed to Deliver

I recently upgraded my frying pan game, and I'm still trying to figure out what happened with the Dream Granite 28 cm Frying Pan with Lid and Non-Stick Coating, Black.

I'd read some great reviews, so I thought, why not? I've got a gas stove, which might make a difference - I've heard that electric stoves can be tougher on pans than gas.

At first glance, the pan seemed like a great purchase. It's a large-diameter frying pan, which is perfect for cooking for my family of four. The 28 cm size is ideal for searing burgers and potatoes, making pan sauces for soups, and braising meat and veggies. It's basically a daily staple in my kitchen.

However, my experience with the Dream Granite pan was a letdown. Despite its solid build quality, the non-stick coating failed to deliver. I've had my fair share of frying pans, and I've got to say that the 'Dream' pan is one of the least durable ones I've owned.

The pan itself is pretty heavy-duty, with thick walls and a sturdy bottom. The 'granite' coating looked great, too. But, unfortunately, it didn't last long. I've been using the pan for less than a year, and the non-stick coating has already worn off.

I've tried to cook a variety of dishes on the pan, from searing meat to making pan sauces. But, no matter what I cooked, the pan just couldn't seem to get it right. The food would simmer, but it wouldn't sear. I've even tried using parchment paper to get some more use out of it, but that didn't work either.

One of the biggest issues I had with the pan was the non-stick coating. It's supposed to be durable, but it didn't last me even a year. I've been using plastic or silicone spatulas, tongs, and big spoons, which are gentle on the surface. I've never served food directly from the pan with a fork, and I've always been careful not to scratch the surface.

Despite my best efforts, the pan just couldn't seem to handle the heat. I've tried cooking a variety of dishes, from salads to stir-fries, but the pan just couldn't seem to get it right. The food would stick to the pan, and I'd have to scrape it off with a spatula.

Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with the Dream Granite pan. It's not like it was super expensive, but for the same price, I could have gotten a better brand. I'm unlikely to buy another 'Dream' skillet again, as this one completely let me down.

My husband found another brand of skillet based on reviews, and we ended up buying that one instead of sticking with the 'Dream' one. After nine months, it just became impossible to cook with. The coating had worn off in the center, and everything would stick and burn. I'd try to cook a simple potato dish, but the middle parts would be all stuck together, and I'd have to scrape them off with a spatula. It was a real pain. So, we ended up tossing it.

I've got to say, my husband and I are both very disappointed with the Dream Granite pan. We've had better luck with other brands, and we wouldn't recommend this one to anyone. If you're in the market for a new frying pan, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Here are some pros and cons of the Dream Granite pan:

Pros:Large-diameter frying pan perfect for cooking for a familyHeavy-duty build qualityEasy to useComes with a branded lid and a spatula as a giftCons:Non-stick coating fails to deliverFood sticks to the panCoating wears off quicklyNot durable

Featured FAQ

Is the Dream Granite Frying Pan suitable for electric stoves?

While it's not a total disaster on electric stoves, I've heard that gas stoves are generally easier on pans. Still, it's not a deal-breaker, but you might need to be more gentle when cleaning and maintaining it.

How do I take care of the non-stick coating?

To be honest, it's a bit of a pain. You need to avoid using metal utensils, high heat, and abrasive cleaners. It's a lot of work to keep it looking new, but it's worth it if you want to extend its lifespan.

Can I use metal utensils with the Dream Granite Frying Pan?

No, I'd strongly advise against it. The non-stick coating is super sensitive, and metal utensils will scratch it within no time. Stick to silicone or wooden utensils for the best results.

Is the pan dishwasher safe?

I wouldn't risk it, to be honest. The non-stick coating is delicate, and the high heat and harsh detergents in the dishwasher might damage it. Hand washing is the way to go.

Can I use the Dream Granite Frying Pan on induction stoves?

Unfortunately, no. The pan's metal bottom is not compatible with induction stoves. You'll need to stick to gas or electric stoves for this one.

How long does the non-stick coating last?

Honestly, it's not as long as I expected. After less than a year, the coating started peeling off, and I had to replace the pan. It's just not worth the hassle and money.

Is the Dream Granite Frying Pan a good value for money?

Definitely not. Considering the poor performance and short lifespan, I'd say it's a total waste of money. You're better off spending your cash on a more reliable pan.

Can I return or exchange the Dream Granite Frying Pan?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I didn't bother trying to return or exchange it, but I'd imagine it's a hassle. If you're not satisfied, I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer or retailer for more information.
