Most of the models I looked at were way taller than I needed, which is why I ended up with a black coffee machine instead of the stainless steel one I originally wanted.

Another key factor in my decision was the cappuccinator. I specifically wanted a manual one because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of disassembling and cleaning the system every time. And let me tell you, it's been a lifesaver. No more messy cleanups or worrying about getting the milk and steam just right.

This model really caught my eye, but it shows dirt quickly - I guess that's what I get for choosing a black color. Still, it's a small price to pay for the amazing performance and ease of use.

I was surprised to find that my model doesn't have physical buttons, just touch controls. And this lever for switching between cappuccino modes. It's actually really intuitive, and I love how easy it is to use.

The machine comes pre-programmed with the main types of coffee:

Before using it, you need to choose the grind setting, add coffee grounds to the hopper, select the strength, cup size, and pour water into the designated container... It's like preparing the machine for work! But trust me, it's worth the extra effort - the results are amazing.

You can even adjust the drink temperature following the instructions. And with the self-cleaning system, you don't have to worry about messy cleanups or bacteria buildup.

I initially set up the filter and cleaning solution that came with the machine. Of course, I installed the filter. I didn't change the grind setting, but you can do that by turning the grind adjustment dial on top, where you add the coffee grounds. There are 13 settings in total, and I have it set to 6.

You can choose the coffee strength in the settings panel. 1 grain is a weak strength, and I usually go with 5 or 6 for a stronger cup. The grain container holds 250 grams, which is plenty for me and my partner.

I also have a small container for ground coffee, but I haven't used it yet, so I can't give you a proper assessment of that feature. Still, it's nice to have the option.

After brewing, all the grounds collect in a special tray at the bottom. The machine will alert you when it's time to clean it out, and it's actually pretty easy to do.

As for the cappuccinator, it's not the most user-friendly thing, but it works well and does its job great. The main thing is to clean and rinse it on time, and use fresh milk. I've found that this little guy helps me get a nice, fluffy foam.

Aside from the tray, the coffee machine itself also needs periodic cleaning. It will let you know when it's time, with a special icon lighting up and a sound effect. I have to say, the cleaning process happens pretty quickly, but it's hard to ignore the beeps. Every action is accompanied by a signal, reminding you that it's time to clean. Even though it works fine, after completing all the cooking stages, the signal will get to you eventually. So, be prepared to clean up!

To clean it, you'll need special liquid, a tablet, or a powder. Many people get a one-time use cleaning solution with their purchase, but I didn't get one... So, I had to order one. I chose a more affordable option with better reviews.

The cleaning process isn't exactly fast, it takes about 30 minutes. During cleaning, you won't be able to move around much, you'll need to change the water, drain it, add more, and switch the button. It's a good idea to cover it up or block it somehow. Be prepared for splashes everywhere! I use a special screen.

The water reservoir is also a bit of a pain. It holds 1.8 liters of water. As soon as the water runs out, the machine will alert you with an indicator and a sound. If you don't add more water, the only button that'll work is the power button.

Every time I turn it on, the machine starts doing a rinse cycle and warming up, and a small amount of water gets drained. You gotta put something in there, or the tray will fill up super fast and make a mess everywhere.

What are my go-to drinks?

I mostly use the Espresso button. It's the base for all sorts of milky treats. We love making cappuccinos, lattes, and the occasional ristretto.

My partner, on the other hand, is a Doppio fan. No complaints about these drinks at all! Occasionally, we'll press the coffee button, but that's pretty rare. The thing is, the coffee tastes amazing every time - as long as you're using good coffee, of course.

I've gotta say, the only thing that's got me scratching my head is the lack of a low-coffee warning. You can only tell it's empty by the sound of the grinder and the water flowing instead of coffee.

Honestly, after using this coffee machine, I've lost my taste for instant coffee. It's just not the same – it's actually kinda gross now.
