Canon EOS 4000D

I recently tried out the Canon EOS 4000D, and I'm impressed with how it delivers on its promise of being a great entry-level DSLR camera. With a 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor, you'll get some amazing shots. The 2.7-inch LCD screen is a nice touch, making it easy to review your photos. Plus, it can shoot up to 3 frames per second, which is perfect for capturing those special moments.

My Budget Mirrorless Camera Experiment: Pros, Cons, and Sample Shots
I've always been fascinated by photography, but the high cost of mirrorless cameras has held me back. Recently, I stumbled upon the Canon EOS 4000D, a budget-friendly mirrorless camera that caught my attention. I managed to snag it for a steal – 9,000 rubles, which is a fraction of its listed price of 19,900 rubles. This camera is currently the most affordable mirrorless option with an EF-S 18-55 kit lens.
Did my dream of being a photographer finally come true?
The Canon EOS 4000D's body is made of a matte plastic, which feels comfortable in my hand, and it weighs a reasonable 436 grams. The navigation buttons are well-placed for easy use, but turning the camera on and off still involves scrolling through the disc and switching through all the modes. For me, that's not super convenient. In most cases, I forget to just turn it off, but the camera goes into standby mode and the battery's energy consumption drops. I was a bit disappointed by the plastic bayonet, but for those who don't plan to change the lens often, it's not that big of a deal. It's clear that the manufacturer cut costs on this camera. The viewfinder is pretty small, just like the 2.7-inch display with low resolution, which isn't even rotatable. You can get used to it, but I don't want to review my shots on this display – it's only good for selecting photos. The flash isn't automatic either. You'll need to raise it manually when shooting in low light.
The hot shoe for the external flash is only compatible with the original one, as it has four points. The memory card and battery are stored in the same compartment and a bit overlap when attaching to a tripod. There's also a USB and HDMI port on the side. The camera comes with a battery, charger, lens, strap, and protective cap for the lens.
The charger quickly charges the removed battery and will let you know when it's fully charged.
I was impressed with how quickly the camera turns on. It displays shooting settings right away. You can take decent photos without reading the manual, even choosing a mode and shooting – all thanks to on-screen prompts that help you pick different functions. The camera also has a built-in Wi-Fi module that lets you share info through an app or save photos to the cloud.
Camera quality, examples, and features.
After buying the camera, I tried taking photos in different modes and with varying shutter speeds. Some turned out okay, while others didn't, but overall, I liked the quality and sharpness of the shots. At ISO 400, the camera delivers good detail and no noticeable noise, and even at 800, it's still pretty controlled. However, when I pushed it to 1600 and above, digital noise started to appear. But, I could still shoot at 12800 in manual mode.
What really stood out to me were the photos taken at the lowest sensitivity setting of 100 – everything looked great in those shots.
A bit about the camera modes.
As I mentioned earlier, the camera does a decent job in auto mode, but you can experiment with other modes too. For instance, the portrait mode adds more vibrant colors to the shot, the TV mode smooths out movement, the AV mode lets you easily control sharpness and focus on a specific object, and there's also landscape, macro, night mode, food, sports, and fully manual control in M mode.
The camera shoots at a speed of 3 frames per second, which isn't super fast, but it's acceptable for me.
Video Recording
The camera can shoot video at 1920 *1080, 25 fps, but it doesn't work at 4k. Video recording happens in auto mode, and you can use autofocus and exposure correction. The video quality is smooth, and the bitrate is 44mb/s.
My Verdict
Honestly, I don't think any smartphone can replace a budget mirrorless camera right now, even a high-end phone has more possibilities, but working with the optics and setting up the shooting modes will give you a unique result.
If you're new to photography, this is the most budget-friendly camera that will let you dip your toes in the water.
