My Game-Changing Big Batch Cooker Experience
I recently picked up a massive pot from Galamart stores, and it's been a total game-changer for my cooking routine. Where I bought it: Galamart stores
Date of purchase: January 2026
Price of purchase: 1699 rubles with a discount
Capacity: 5.1 liters
Manufacturer: China
I was skeptical at first - 5 liters sounds like a lot, but the working volume is actually 4 liters. Winter's coming, and I've started cooking more borscht. It's a dish you can eat for several days, even for dinner if you're eating out. Our family's small - three of us, plus my son who always drops by for a bowl of borscht. He gets really upset if the 'dish of the day' is all gone. My husband keeps asking, 'How did the borscht run out? We should've cooked more!' But there's no more to cook - that's the problem. So, I found myself searching for a pot that could handle borscht for a day before it was due. Online marketplaces take a few days to deliver, and the prices are similar for a set or a single item. That's why Galamart came to the rescue. It's right in our local mall, just a short walk from home. In their app, I found the model I wanted, and they had it in stock. The purchase was completed in 30 minutes.
Packaging: A big cardboard box with the pot's image on it.
The brand and volume are highlighted on a separate colored background
If you turn the box over in your hands, it's pretty informative
The packaging opens easily - there's a special little tab. No tamper-evident stickers here.
Inside, you'll find the instruction manual and the product itself.
I've been using stainless steel pots with glass lids for over 20 years, so the instructions were nothing new to me. The stove is a standard gas panel, so it's not picky about the cookware. I've had my fair share of pots, but this one really caught my eye - it reminded me of a fairy tale cauldron!
Inside, there's a volume scale. The bottom is multi-layered and thick - it's become second nature to me. I like that it holds the temperature a bit longer than usual pots after heating up, but, of course, it adds some weight. If you flip the pot over, you can see which type of stovetop it's designed for.
The glass lid is a must-have for me - I like being able to see what's going on underneath without having to lift it. The pot's handles and lid are heat-resistant and rubberized.
For gas stoves, I think this is a must-have. Because they get extremely hot from the open flame. And every time I have to put on heat-resistant gloves just to lift the lid or move a pot, it's a real pain. So, metal handles are a no-go for me. They might be okay for electric stoves (I've seen my mom use them on her electric stove), but they won't cut it for me on gas.FINAL VERDICT The 5L stainless steel pot from Satoshi Alba with a glass lid has impressed me with its generous size, interesting design, glass lid, thick bottom, and heat-resistant handles. However, the handles did get a bit too hot during the borscht cooking process, even with the heat-resistant feature. They don't get as scorching hot as metal handles, but they still get noticeably warm, so I'll let that slide. Considering the price was on sale at the time of purchase, I'll be using it mainly for one dish.
RATING: 4 stars.
