My Honest Take on the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack
Hello everyone.
I'm still sharing my thoughts on Apple devices, and today it's all about the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack. This thing came with my husband's iPhone as a gift on New Year's, and at the time of writing, I've used it two full times with a complete discharge of both the phone and the battery pack.
Apple MagSafe Battery PackPrice: around 10,000 to 13,000 rubles, but often it's given away as a gift when buying the phone itself (that was my case)
Apple MagSafe Battery PackThe compact external battery Apple MagSafe Battery Pack provides fast charging for your device, allowing you to charge it even on the go, at work, or at home. The magnetic body instantly locks into place securely.
By connecting the battery to a 27W charger or higher, you can replenish your energy even faster!
I'll get straight to the point about the technical specs: it's got a 1460 mAh capacity, 3A input current, and a Lightning port. But here's the thing - it won't work for the Apple iPhone 15, Apple iPhone 15 Pro, and Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max because they already have a USB-C port.

I was excited to try out the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack with my iPhone and other Apple devices. And let me tell you, it's a beast when it comes to compatibility - it works with MagSafe, my iPhone 12, my Apple Watch, my Air Pods, and many more Apple devices.
Apple MagSafe Battery PackThis thing is a beast when it comes to compatibility - it works with:
MagSafeBattery life for my iPhone 12Battery life for my Apple WatchBattery life for my Air PodsAnd many more Apple devicesThe manufacturer highlights some cool features, including a charge indicator, wireless charging (Qi), fast charging (Quick Charge), and fast charging (Power Delivery). The Apple MagSafe Battery Pack is ridiculously compact - it fits in my purse or even a small clutch.
Apple MagSafe Battery PackDimensions:
Length: 9.2cmWidth: 6.2cmThickness: 12mmI've found that the battery pack has a light indicator near the port - it's a nice touch. If it's red, it's drained, and if it's green, it's charged and ready to go.
Apple MagSafe Battery PackThe capacity is roughly half that of my phone, with 1460 mAh and my Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max boasting 3687 mAh. So, don't expect to fully charge your iPhone with this battery pack - it's meant for topping up, like when you're on the go and your battery is down to 10%. That's exactly what happened with me.
Apple MagSafe Battery PackHere's the thing: your phone will only charge from the external battery pack when it's in standby mode. So, if you're running low and you slap the phone onto the pack and put it back in your pocket, that's when the charging kicks in. But if you start using your phone while it's connected to the pack, the charging stops.
I found this a bit annoying, to be honest. I was in the middle of a long conversation and I wanted to stay connected, but even with the external battery pack, I couldn't guarantee it would keep me going because my phone can't charge and use power at the same time.
Depending on your iPhone model, you can expect to get anywhere from a third to half a charge from the external battery pack, but it'll never be a full charge.
The charging cable isn't included in the box, which is in line with Apple's logic - why do you need another one when the phone comes with one?
And one more thing - it won't work with cases that don't have MagSafe functionality (I just slapped it onto my case for the photo, to be honest, because I was feeling lazy), which makes sense. For me, it's actually a good reason to get a MagSafe case.
I've had a weird experience with this - I left my phone in the car, but took the battery case with me. My phone was at around 11% when I got back, and it had dropped to 9% by the time I got to the car, but it was a long drive and I really needed it, so I immediately plugged it into the car charger (I had to remove the case for this) and it charged up to 30% - just enough to get me through the evening.
Of course, you've got to remember to use the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack and charge it up if you've been using it, or at least every few days so you don't end up with a dead battery at the worst possible moment.
Apple MagSafe Battery PackLooking back, the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack isn't something I've used that much - I've only used it twice since I got it (once just to check it out, and the other time on a long drive, as I mentioned earlier), and the fact that you can't use your phone while it's charging is a bit of a pain. So, my rating's going to be 4 out of 5, but I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you're always on the go and need your phone to be charged up and ready to go.
