A Game-Changer in Earbuds: My Experience with Apple AirPods (4th Generation, 2024)
Hello.
I've been using the same old earbuds for years, but all good things must come to an end.
My previous earbuds were the Apple AirPods of the first generation, without active noise cancellation. I liked that about them - I could still hear my surroundings and chat with people without having to stop listening. But I wanted to try out a pair with noise cancellation.
I went for the Apple AirPods (4th generation, 2024) with active noise cancellation.
I bought them at the iPort store in the Peter Raduga shopping center. The price at the time of purchase was 20990.They came in white.I got a simple transparent case as a free gift.Main features:
Model: AirPods 4 ANC
Active noise cancellation: Yes
Release year: 2024
Driver type: Dynamic
Earbud design: In-ear
I was stoked to find that the earbuds come in a compact cardboard box, sealed for freshness. It's a great feature to have the option to try them out before buying. I've had my fair share of earbuds that just don't fit right, so this is a game-changer for me.
My seller even offered to print out the packaging in-store so I could check out the earbuds' design beforehand. Nice touch!
What I discovered later is that these earbuds have three interchangeable modes that you can switch between in your phone's settings at any time. It's super convenient.
Noice cancellationAdaptive soundTransparency modeI've been using the adaptive sound mode the most since I found out about it. It's been a total game-changer for me.
When I first got the earbuds, they came with active noise cancellation turned on, which totally threw me off. I felt like I was in a vacuum, surrounded by water.
It was a bit disorienting at first, but after trying out the adaptive sound mode, I finally got the effect I was looking for. The background noise is suppressed, but I can still hear the world around me. I can hear people, cars, and other important sounds that catch my attention.
With active noise cancellation, the outside world is basically silent, and it gave me a weird sense of vertigo. But I'm still getting used to the conversation mode, which is supposed to reduce the volume and cancel out background noise when I'm on a call.
It's a bit jarring still, but I'm getting there. I think I'll get used to it eventually, since it's a really useful feature.
So, what else can these earbuds do:
The H2 chip delivers crystal-clear calls with voice isolation, advanced conversation awareness, and a new way to interact with Siri hands-free.Personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking creates an immersive sound around you.The IP54 rating offers protection against dust, sweat, and water.USB-C charging and up to 30 hours of listening time with the case. The case also includes a built-in dynamic speaker for the 'Find My' feature, making it easier to locate your AirPods 4.The case supports wireless charging.I'm more than satisfied. After using these earbuds for a month, I'm getting accustomed to the new features and capabilities that I like.
The battery life is decent, and I've only had to charge them twice so far. I appreciate the convenience of wireless charging, making it easy to top them up without any extra cables.
I'm happy with my upgrade. I listen to audiobooks, and the sound quality is perfectly fine for my needs.
Maybe more advanced users will share their insights on the nuances for audiophiles, but for me, this is a great solution.
Thanks for reading.
