Aceline Keyboard Skins Black Base with White and Silver Design

I've got a confession to make - I'm a bit of a keyboard snob. But when I got my hands on Aceline's keyboard skins, I was impressed. The black base and sleek white and silver design give my workspace a serious upgrade. Plus, they're ridiculously easy to apply and remove, which is a total win in my book. But what really sold me was the build quality - these skins are durable and long-lasting, making them a great value for money. Whether you're looking to add some personality to your workspace or just want to protect your keyboard from spills and dust, these skins are a great choice. And with both Russian and Latin layouts available, you're covered no matter what your typing needs are.

My DIY Keyboard Skin Disaster: A Review of Aceline Stickers

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently bought a keyboard on AliExpress during a sale, but it was missing Cyrillic characters. I had to rely on muscle memory to type punctuation, which was super frustrating. I thought the Aceline stickers would fix the issue, but they didn't quite live up to my expectations. Here's the lowdown on my experience with these DIY keyboard skins.

My DIY Keyboard Skin Disaster: A Review of Aceline Stickers
Hello there! I recently bought a keyboard on AliExpress during a sale, and I didn't even notice it didn't have Cyrillic characters. I was typing away, and it wasn't until then that I realized the issue.
Aceline Keyboard Stickers It made me a bit nervous, to be honest. I had to rely on muscle memory to type punctuation, which wasn't ideal.
Aceline Keyboard Stickers I bought the stickers from DNS, and they came in three packs. I didn't like the transparent one, so I chose between two black ones - one with white letters and another with white and yellow letters. They came in a pack, and I'm pretty sure they were made in China.
Aceline Keyboard Stickers
Pros and Cons
Consistency: The stickers are made of plastic with a sticky base, have rounded edges, and a pretty dense material. The texture matches the original key surface. Smell: There's no weird smell, which is a plus. Wear and Tear: They don't wear off during use, and the letters stay clear. I hope they last a long time. Application: To use them, you need to apply each sticker to the keys individually. It took me a long time, and I applied them in two or three batches. You need to apply them carefully and evenly.
My keys aren't super smooth, but the stickers seem to be holding up. When I type, they sometimes make a clicking sound, like they're about to come off, but they haven't fallen off yet.
Aceline Keyboard Stickers The stickers partially covered the characters on my keyboard with backlighting. Not all of them match, since I don't have the numbers row. The top row wasn't worth it for me, since I type punctuation by muscle memory. I only applied the letter stickers.
Aceline Keyboard Stickers The white letters are invisible under backlighting, while the yellow ones are opaque. In the dark, it's hard to see them, and the backlight becomes useless.
Aceline Keyboard Stickers
My Experience
I'd recommend these stickers to anyone who wants to customize their keyboard. They're well-made, don't fall off, and don't wear off. However, they do cover the characters under the backlighting, which is a bit of a problem for me. Maybe the symbols are in the right place, but now I can't see them. For a standard keyboard, these stickers are fine, but my keyboard has some unique features that make them look a bit weird. The quality of the stickers themselves is great, but the DIY experience was a bit of a disaster.
I'm satisfied with the stickers, but I wish I had known about the backlighting issue before purchasing. If you're planning to use these stickers on a keyboard with backlighting, make sure to check the compatibility first.
Thanks for reading!
