Efficient Little Catcher. But Can It Catch All Mice in the House?
Mouse infestation is a common problem in private homes. We've encountered it too. In fact, mice have always been present in our home, albeit in small numbers. Our cat would catch them, but this year their population seemed to exceed her capabilities. We had to resort to external help.
First, we tried glue traps. However, we had to abandon them. Relatives weren't too keen on giving them up, but I convinced them that I'd find an alternative. I couldn't bear the thought of our cat getting stuck in the glue traps. I only needed one evening to realize this. And setting the cat aside for the night in a storage room wasn't an option for me. I'm used to having her at home, sleeping next to me. So, I needed a solution that would allow me to leave the cat at home.
After searching online, I found this mouse catcher:
Relatives laughed, saying it was a joke, but I bought it. I'd seen reviews and videos demonstrating its mechanism. The price was just 90 rubles. It might be cheaper elsewhere, but we didn't find it. So, I bought it from Wildberries.
It arrived four days after ordering. I placed the mouse catcher in a favorite mouse spot that same evening.
The device is easy to load. You just open it, insert the bait, and it's ready. To avoid accidentally triggering it while inserting the bait, I hold the back part and insert the bait into the designated compartment. To prevent the mouse catcher from moving, I tied it down.
The mouse catcher can move due to the cat or if the mouse manages to grab it with its paw instead of its head.
On the first night, this little device caught four mice!
Then, two more the next day.
And today, two more. In total, over 12 days, it caught eight mice, and our cat caught a few more.
I consider this device very efficient. It's safe for our household pet. The mouse usually dies instantly. I've had no complaints about the glue traps, which were much worse in this regard.
Removing the mouse from the device is easy, and you don't need to touch it. You just release the jaws, and the mouse is gone.
I didn't attach a photo of the mice. Although they're pests, they're still living creatures. However, I think everyone can imagine what a dead mouse looks like in this device.
I RECOMMEND IT!
Pros:
The device looks compact and interesting. Even the wooden ones from my childhood looked more cumbersome.EFFICIENCY! This little device has caught over a dozen mice. It's the most important and decisive plus of this mouse catcher. The mice don't suffer. They don't cry out or struggle. There's just a 'thud' and it's over. I've had no complaints about the glue traps, which were much worse in this regard. It's safe for household pets. You can place it in your home without worrying about your cat getting stuck or injured. It's easy to reload. I don't know how others do it, but I just hold the back part and insert the bait into the designated compartment. The compartment is small, but it works. You don't need to touch the mouse when removing it. You just release the jaws, and the mouse is gone.It comes with a bolt attachment, but I simply tied it down.
Cons:
It's very lightweight. A mouse can easily move it. It might also jump when triggered. So, fixing it is essential. We've found it easy to resolve, so it's not a minus for me.The bait compartment is small. I think it could be designed better to prevent the mouse from pulling out the bait. However, it works, and I've seen others with the same issue. It could be more sensitive. Mice can sometimes pull out the bait without triggering the device. It's not a 100% catch rate, but it's very high.I'm glad I bought it, and I might even buy a few more for other locations.
