I've been using an electric trimmer for a while now, but I've been dreaming of a cordless one that's just as reliable. The electric cord's been driving me crazy, as I have to keep moving it across the fence, so I've been looking for a more convenient option.
I finally bought the Zitrek GreenCut 20 20V 082 cordless trimmer for 3664 rubles on the VsEInstrumenty website.
The pickup point, which is also a store, is conveniently located near my home, and the staff are really friendly - they let me return or exchange items without any hassle, which is a big plus compared to Wildberries.

Usually, models like this are recommended for cutting grass in hard-to-reach spots or around bushes, flowerbeds, and paths, but I decided to put it to the test on an open field.
I was curious to see how it would handle thicker weeds and taller grass.

Slipping them into the handle is a breeze, and a reassuring click confirms they're in place.
Those lithium-ion batteries are heavy, and the 20V voltage is no joke – it's not some puny 12V setup.

The trimmer itself is a lovely green color - it's a real head-turner. I love how it looks when it's all set up.
The handle is super comfortable, with a button and a hook for easy grip.
What I really appreciate is that the trimmer won't start unless you press the button - it's a great safety feature.
It's amazing to feel like you're not relying on gasoline or electricity - it's just you and the trimmer, with no distractions.

With my height at 160 cm, I have to work a bit hunched over.
There's a bit of vibration, which isn't there on electric trimmers.
For easier handling, there's an additional D-shaped grip - it provides great maneuverability, but the long metal rod sticking out is a bit of a nuisance.
Zitrek GreenCut 20 20V 082 Cordless TrimmerI didn't use the plastic blades and disc, I worked with the metal blade instead. The speed of rotation is impressive, a full 10,000 RPM.
As for the string, I haven't had a chance to test it yet, although I prefer string trimmers. The package came with pre-cut string pieces - I'll give it a try soon.

The adjustable blade head has multiple positions for cutting. To change the angle, you need to press the button at the bottom and adjust to the desired position.
Given that you need to cut while leaning over, it's essential to find the right angle where the blades are parallel to the ground. However, the higher you are, the more challenging it becomes to achieve this parallelism - my son tried it, and it's not easy.
The most critical thing to remember is that after stopping the trimmer, the blades continue to rotate rapidly and can cause a 'meat grinder' effect if they come into contact with anything. So, keep your hands and face away from the blades, and consider wearing safety goggles. I learned this the hard way after working in shorts - now I have a bunch of bruises and scratches. You can see the cutting parts in the video below.

After cutting, the mulch tends to collect on the ground, especially in wet conditions. We usually leave it on the lawn.

As an experienced gardener, I can confidently say that the cutting width of 15 cm is spot on. I've used it to take down branches and weeds with ease.
The video shows that it's not just for grass - it's perfect for tackling thicker weeds like pigweed and knapweed.
Thicker weeds like clover and dandelions might get stuck, but they come off quickly.

One of the things I love about this trimmer is that you don't feel the electricity - it's perfect for use in wet conditions.
It's not just a toy - it's a valuable tool that I enjoy using.
Having a lightweight and easy-to-use device like this always at hand is a huge advantage.
The downsides, which I've come to accept or overlook.
The metal guard is only at the front, so I've been bumping into fences and other obstacles when cutting from the side. The blades often get stuck in the ground, and it's a real dust-bunny situation.
It's way easier to cut when walking backwards.
The electric trimmer has a guard made of a plastic spool that prevents it from touching the ground, but this one doesn't have that feature.
I managed to cut a 2x5 meter patch in just 5 minutes, and the grass varied from 5 to 25 centimeters. I was filming it (if you've seen the video) on a more overgrown section.

Zitrek GreenCut 20 20V 082 Cordless TrimmerGiven my limited experience, I'm still figuring things out, but I'm already enjoying my new toy.
The downsides, but they're personal:
*The short handle.
*My hand gets tired holding both the button and the trigger.
*Only suitable for right-handed people.
I'm recommending this product, and I'd give it a solid 5 stars. I'm not comparing it to an electric trimmer, as it's a completely different beast with different tasks. I actually tried a regular scythe, just because I wanted to get away from cords, and now I've got a cordless one!
It's super lightweight, weighing in at just 1.8 kg.
It's compact, making it easy to store and transport.
It's portable, so you can take it wherever you need to.
It's foldable, which is a huge plus for me.
It comes with two batteries, which is awesome.
It's got three adjustable tilt settings, so you can get the perfect cut every time.
It can handle both short and tall grass, no problem.
It's got a metal blade and a disc, so you've got options.
The battery life is up to 1.5 hours, which is impressive.
The adjustable handle makes it super easy to use.
No need for electricity, just charge it up and go.
It's ready to go right out of the box.
It's backed by a 12-month warranty, which gives me peace of mind.
And the best part? It's widely available.
Stay healthy, everyone!
