I've been ordering from iHerb since 2014, and over that time, I've placed more than 20 orders. Some products have become staples in my life, but that's not to say there haven't been any issues – we'll get to those later.
So, why iHerb?
The first time I ordered from this site, I wasn't thinking about prices or discounts – I just wanted to try out some vitamins for myself and my mom. I was impressed by the official website and the wide range of products available. What really stood out to me was the ease of ordering – it was a breeze. With iHerb, you get access to products from a variety of companies, from smaller family-owned businesses like Thayers (their facial toners are amazing) to well-known international brands like Solgar, Weleda, Wobenzym, Nestea, Nivea, and more. iHerb prioritizes eco-friendliness and only sells products with clear expiration dates, which you can check on the product page.
Product photos and details, including expiration datesI also appreciate that iHerb provides high-quality product photos – it's easy to read the labels and check out the product ratings and reviews from other users in various languages. You can even view prices in rubles or other currencies.
Let's talk about prices. Is it worth ordering from iHerb?
iHerb claims that their prices are 30-50% lower than those of other online stores. I've been comparing prices on iHerb.com and other online retailers, and the difference is usually in iHerb's favor.
Let's compare the prices of good vitamins Now from New Foods on iHerb and the store near my place:
The difference is almost twice as muchBut! If we compare the prices in the same store for popular Opti-men vitamins for men from Optimum Nutrition, iHerb would lose out due to the current promo:
In iHerb it's almost 15% more expensiveActually, that's the only item that turned out to be cheaper. This example made me realize that, despite the really low prices on iherb.ru, critical thinking is still a must, and I'll continue to occasionally compare prices to make sure my purchases remain worthwhile.
Let's talk about ways to buy even cheaper.
Loyalty Program
You earn a loyalty bonus of 5% of the order total after discounts are applied, excluding shipping costs. This bonus can be redeemed within 90 days on your next order after the current one has shipped.
Your current loyalty bonus amount and its expiration date are displayed in your account. You can also set up notifications to remind you when your bonus is about to expireIn other words, order every three months and get a permanent 5% discount. Occasionally, like right now, they've got sales going on, and the loyalty bonus jumps up to 10%.
Brand of the Week
It's pretty obvious from the name that the brand changes every week, on Wednesdays. The discount is a solid 15% off the products. It's a great way to save. For example, when I'm looking for coconut oil, I almost always find a brand of the week that makes it.
Usually, a few companies make it into the brand of the week, and you can find some really cool stuff among themSome people manage to snag a deal while the brand of the week discount is still active, but the new one has already kicked in!
Combo Deals
They've got combo deals for almost every product, but they only show up on the page for some of them.
For example, when I'm buying coconut oil, they offer a combo deal with vitamin C, but on the vitamin C page, they'll be promoting a different combo deal.
Coconut Oil + Vitamin C
Vitamin C + Vitamin D
I have to say, the second combo offer didn't really do it for me - I don't have kids, so it wasn't something I was interested in. You either have to be patient and find a combo that works for you, or know what products pair well together. I've also noticed that on some product pages, the combo offers aren't even shown, but they do exist and can pop up on pages that are related to the products in the combo.
Deals, Samples, and Sales
Deals are always available, but despite getting notifications about all the deals, I don't always get emails about them. A great example of this is when I got an email about a 5% discount code in April 2018, but just a few days later, another email came out with a 10% discount code that I hadn't heard about. Right now, there's a 30% discount on my favorite sports brand, muscletech, but I didn't get any email about it. In May, I got emails about all the deals.
In general, there are a lot of deals available, with some really good discounts (5-10% off orders and up to 30% off specific brands), but tracking promo codes and coupons can be a bit of a challenge. Some of them are displayed on the main page of the website, but not all of them.
According to the rules of Airy, I'm not allowed to post the discount codes here, but I'd be happy to send them to you in a private message. I mean, even 5% might be a small discount, but it's always nice to get something back, right?
Some of the long-term deals currently available include:
- 20% off Amazing Grass products
- 10% off all CGN chewing vitamins
- Up to 30% off Muscletech and other Iovate Health Sciences Inc. products (offer valid until December 31st)
- 30% off select ALLMAX Nutrition products (offer valid until December 31st)
- 30% off MusclePharm and MusclePharm Natural
- 30% off FitMiss
Examples of offers on the main pagePersonally, I think it's a good idea to order samples sometimes, first, the lower price, second, it's convenient to 'top up' your cart with low-cost items to reach free shipping.
How about a 6-ruble bar or 8 balms for 60 rubles? On the website, there are always products that are on sale, I look at them less often, but the offers are also very attractive: the discount can be more than 50%. For such products, you need to read the description more carefully: the lower price may be due to the approaching expiration date.
The first product has a discount three timesOnce, I bought probiotics on sale, which are not known for their affordable price.
Referral codes
I got a referral code when I signed up, and if someone uses it to make a purchase, I get 5% of the order value (or 10% for iHerb's own brands). Sounds good, but I don't have any friends who shop on iHerb, so I'm stuck promoting my referral code on Instagram. Turns out, it's not the most rewarding thing to do – I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not getting much traction despite putting in a lot of effort. There are plenty of other Instagram accounts like mine, and some of them are doing way better than I am. If you've got the talent, go for it, and maybe you'll earn some free shopping credits. And if you earn a lot, you can even withdraw your earnings from iHerb.
Referral earnings are also shown in your account dashboardI can send you my referral code, which gives you 5% off any order, or share my Instagram page with you.
Discounts for newbies
New customers can get two discounts: 5% bonus if they enter a referral code from another user, and $5 off if their order totals over $40 with a specific code.
Then, when you order through the mobile app, you can get an extra $5 discount with a different code. This code doesn't stack with the discount for your first order, so it's better to place your first order through the website and your second through the app.
According to Airtable rules, I'm not allowed to post the discount codes here, but I'd be happy to send them to you in a private message.
Shipping
I prefer shipping with Boxberry, but I have to admit that the latest requirement to order for $60 to get free shipping won't suit everyone.
I'm also not a fan of the fact that some items I just can't order to Russia with any delivery method because when I order 4.54 kg, the package is considered 5.44 kg. Come on, a cardboard box isn't going to weigh almost a kilogram!
I still couldn't order a big pack of protein powder at an amazing priceIn other ways, everything's tolerable: packages arrive within one to two weeks, and I don't even live in Moscow.
Everything arrives intact, the expiration date hasn't expired, nothing's leaked or spilled. Of course, it's not always the case, but according to reviews, they do refund money if you contact customer support and provide a photo of the package. Some very considerate girls even take a video of the unpacking just in case.
My favorite and not-so-favorite products
Over the years, I've accumulated quite a few favorites, but also some mistakes. I'll tell you about some of them.
My biggest mistake – breast enlargement pills
I've already written a review in the hopes of warning other girls and heard opinions that only silly people believe in such miracles. Hard to argue, but I wanted to believe, and now I'm left with these not-so-cheap bottles that I don't need. In short, they didn't work for me.

The One Thing I'm Obsessed With - Dry Brush Massager
I've got to give a shoutout to this super affordable and effective dry brush massager that's been keeping my body in top shape. I love it so much, I've already bought one for myself and a couple of friends!
Van LifeIt's a game-changer for busy days when I need a quick pick-me-up. Check out my full review on dry brushing here and see the before-and-after pics!
My Go-To Sports Nutrition and Protein
I'm currently loving the Mucletech vanilla protein powder with creatine - it tastes like melted ice cream and has a great formula. I've tried a bunch of different proteins on iHerb, but this one really stands out. Want to know more about Total Soy protein? Check it out
My Daily Dose of Flaxseed Oil
I try to take flaxseed oil every day - it's an amazing source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids for women.
I've tried expensive oils with lignin before, but I didn't notice a difference. If you want to learn more about oils, check out this post.
Vitamins and Supplements
I'm a big fan of omega-3 supplements, like fish oil. I love this one from Madre Labs:
Who didn't love fish oil as a kid?/div>For joint pain, I swear by glucosamine and chondroitin. I take vitamins from Solgar, and they're great. They really help me recover from tough workouts.
My sore knees love these vitaminsAcetyl L-carnitine is always touted as a fat burner, but I take it because it has antioxidant properties that help protect against aging and neurodegeneration. I'm not convinced it's a fat burner, though.
It's got my brain goingAnd other great stuff from iHerb
I've gotta say, I'm really loving the fish collagen supplement from California Gold Nutrition's Collagenup on iHerb. I plan on taking it regularly, and I'm already seeing some great benefits. It's helped keep my skin looking healthy and tight, which is a big deal since collagen production naturally slows down with age. Plus, it's also done wonders for my hair and nails.
Check out this article for more info.Fish collagen and moreOn a related note, I've been experimenting with some new ingredients in my cooking, like chia seeds and coconut oil. I've even fallen in love with McCann's oatmeal - it's a total game-changer!
Oatmeal - it's out of this world!I'm a total oil fanatic, and I've recently discovered this amazing biomask that's like a spa treatment for my skin. It's so soothing and hydrating!
I'm also a big fan of these chewy candies that are actually good for you - sometimes they have calcium, sometimes vitamin C. I eat them myself, and they're a great alternative to regular candy.
I'm also loving the wide selection of Korean skincare products on iHerb. I've already tried out a face cream with snail mucin, and I'm hooked. However, I do think the patches are a bit pricey.
It's hard to fit everything into one review, but trust me when I say that iHerb has a seriously dedicated fan base - we're talking 'iHerb maniacs' here!
Only a small part of the products I've tried have blown me away like this one has.
I've tried a lot of products, but there are even more I want to try in the future: magnesium for relaxing baths and a serum for thinning hair are next on my list.
