I live in Crimea, and VTB Bank just expanded its presence in our region - a big change since it used to be a separate entity under RNKB.
But now they've merged, and I got a VTB card, which I'll review too.
When I got the card, a bank employee offered me a payment sticker, which is super handy to use!
It's a sticker that sticks to your phone and lets you make payments without a wallet, cards, or a bag. Plus, you can pay for anything at any time.
It looks super convenient, I must say.
There are two types of stickers: blue and blue ones with kittens, which they call the 'kids' version - at least, that's what the bank employee told me.

But, at the time of my visit, the courier only had the adult, blue one with a sad face.
The sticker costs 200 rubles upfront, and any further maintenance is free.
For comparison, the T Bank sticker costs 700 rubles.
Where does it stick?
Anywhere you like, but most often, it's on your phone, since we all carry those with us.
It sticks using a special adhesive applied to the inside.
You can throw away the rest of the plastic.
The courier attached my sticker to the camera on my phone case.
I didn't choose to place the sticker at the bottom, but the first option looks way better visually.
I only found out later that cameras can block the signal...
How it works
The sticker isn't a standalone thing, but rather an extension of your main VTB debit card.
So, you need to be a VTB bank client.
It fully replicates the main functions of your debit card, including earning cashback, withdrawing and topping up funds through an ATM, and making payments.
This is essentially a duplicate card that lets you make payments through store terminals, pharmacies, and anywhere else they're available.
The only thing you need to do right after getting it is transfer some amount from your card to the sticker and use it to make a purchase!
And that's it, the sticker is ready to go.
It has its own unique number, which is displayed in the VTB app.
The balance on it will be the same as the balance on your VTB debit card, since it's essentially a continuation of that.
How the sticker works in practice
When I'm rushing to drop off the kids at school or daycare, I often forget my bag, but I always take my phone with me!
A few times, I found myself in a situation where I needed to buy something in a store or pharmacy unexpectedly.
So, for me, the sticker is a pretty convenient thing!
I don't have any apps on my phone that let me make payments.
So, how did the sticker actually perform in practice?
In large supermarkets with modern terminals, the sticker worked perfectly to make payments!
However, in regular stores, I was unable to make payments.
The terminal just wouldn't recognize the sticker and kept giving me an error.
Luckily, I had a wallet with other cards on me, or I would have had to leave without making a purchase.
The store staff told me it's a common issue.
I had the same problem in pharmacies until I met someone who suggested that the issue might be with my phone and recommended removing the case and trying again.
And voila! It worked. Now I know what to do.
It's worth noting that the bank teller didn't warn me about the sticker's placement - it's best to stick it away from your phone's camera, or the signal might get blocked.
It wasn't until a friend pointed it out that I read the VTB website and decided to reposition the sticker.
Something similar might happen if your phone has a thick case and the sticker's stuck underneath - it'll be tough to pay.
But at the bottom of the case, the sticker works flawlessly on any terminal!
It takes a second try, but it sticks well.
Still, it's not worth constantly repositioning it!
I easily removed the remaining adhesive from the top of the case using acetone.
It might look a bit off here, but it works perfectly!
I'd recommend the VTB sticker.
It's super convenient and might come in handy in some situations.
I didn't notice any major issues with it.
