I've been using the Ozon Bank card for a while now, and I thought I'd share my honest experience with you. I ordered it primarily because it's a more cost-effective way to pay on Ozon, and I shop there quite often.

Plus, the card is free, and they even give you cashback. But how valuable is it, really? And what do I dislike about it? I'll get into that in more detail in this review.

Adding the card to your order is a breeze – you can do it by adding it to your cart for just 1 ₽. And then you can pick it up at a delivery point.

I received the card in a blue envelope and activated it without any issues at home.

The card's design is simple and minimalist: it's the same blue color as the envelope.

The card itself is standard size, easy to hold in your hand and fit in your wallet. The plastic is thin.

The front has a standard chip, and the back has your CVV, expiration date, and card number. Mine isn't a personalized card.

The card is tied to the MIR payment system. Too bad you can't add it to your Wallet (iPhone users will know what I mean).

What I like about the card is that you can use it directly through the Ozon app – no need to download anything extra.

So, you can log in to Ozon Bank through the Ozon app itself. There, you can check your balance, see your expenses and income, and more.

They've even added statistics recently.

Cashback

One thing I like about this service is that we can choose specific categories each month to get cashback. It's usually three categories plus 1% on all purchases.

I can choose five categories, but only with Ozon Premium. I haven't used this feature yet, so I'm sticking with what I have.

And honestly, I don't always love the categories. I wish there were more kids' stuff, clothes, and other essentials.

Take February's categories, for example:

Half the time, I don't use this feature, so I just skip it. It happens a lot.

I did notice that if you don't pay with your Ozon card for a while, you can switch categories. I used this trick once, actually.

Last November and December, we renovated our kitchen and needed to buy new appliances. That's when Ozon came in handy: we got a decent cashback on the appliance purchase, so we paid with our Ozon card.

We bought around 122,000 RUB worth of appliances, and here's the cashback we got:

I was expecting a bigger sum, but there are limits, and they're a bit disappointing. It's just not enough, you know?

Cashback accrues and comes once a month to the card in rubles!

There are also other promotions, but they're not really my thing.

What cashback doesn't get accrued for:

Transfers;Utility bills;Payments by QR code;Purchases on Ozon;

I think that's logical. And I actually pay my utility bills and mobile phone bill without any commission thanks to my Ozon bank account.

You can also withdraw cash from the card, but it's a bit of a hassle. To avoid any commission, I transfer the funds from my Ozon card to another bank card and withdraw cash from there.

If a purchase is returned, the cashback, of course, gets reset.

So, what am I not happy about? Well, in principle, the card is good. It's free, and the cashback comes on time. But personally, I'm put off by the categories. I'd like to see more relevant ones, like 'clothing and footwear' or 'kids' stuff, rather than music and train tickets, which I haven't used in ages.

And the cashback limit is too small! I think there are banks that offer a higher cashback limit than Ozon.

I like the Ozon bank card overall, but when it comes to cashback, I'll be looking for other options.
