I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong with the Slakon 'Kakadu' Waffles I got as a sweet New Year's gift. They just didn't live up to my expectations.
The packaging is nice, with individual and airtight wrappers for each waffle, and each one weighs only 18 grams. That's a nice touch, but it's not enough to save these waffles from their crumbly fate.
On the back, you'll find the ingredients and calories - 94 calories per waffle, to be exact. That's not bad, but it's not great either.
The waffles themselves are square and very light, but they're also super crumbly. I mean, I couldn't even eat one without making a mess.
Between the waffle layers are two fatty fillings: a white one with a creme-filled flavor and a dark one with an alleged nutty taste. The waffle layers are airy, crunchy, and sweet, but the white filling tastes like actual creme, while the dark one is just plain weird.
The filling's consistency is too greasy and powdery, which is just not right. I've had my fair share of waffle fillings, but these ones take the cake for being the most disappointing.
There are way better options out there, like Yashkin's Oatmeal Waffles, Kot Fedot's Sliwki, Murkin's Waffle Delights, and Vanilla Waffle Delights - all of which are way more worth your money than these crumbly disasters.
