I'll never forget the wild ride I experienced with Sendo's acidic toner. My skin's sensitivity issues started with the first bottle, but it wasn't until the second one that I realized something was seriously wrong. What's the deal with this toner, anyway? Let me share my story of applying it to sensitive skin.
Hey there!
I'm not a skincare expert, but I've tried various toners, and I just couldn't get on board with the whole 'acid' trend. But my journey with Sendo's toner began in 2020, when I was just starting to introduce acids into my skincare routine. I didn't know much back then, and it took me a while to realize that this toner was more of a hindrance than a help. In this review, I'll share what went wrong with it.
So, let's talk about Sendo's AHA - ACID regenerating toner:
Tonizing your skin is the next step in an essential skincare routine after cleansing. Sendo's regenerating toner with acids not only gently cleanses your skin but also provides a gentle exfoliating effect, all while leaving a pleasant floral scent that'll keep you feeling uplifted all day!
Sendo's regenerating toner with acids is great at evening out your skin tone and texture, normalizing sebum production, and cleansing and shrinking pores.

Packaging.
The toner comes in a cylindrical bottle. The design is a bit childish with a Korean twist.
I wish the front had more information about the type of skin it's suitable for.
On the back, there's a ton of text about the toner, its composition, and how to use it. Plus, there's the expiration date and info about the manufacturer:
It's easy to track the remaining product through the transparent bottle and the space between the label: Cap is your standard flip-top. There's a little notch for easy opening. It opens quietly, but closes with a loud thud.
Opening for pouring the toner is small, but it's just the right size. It's convenient to pour it onto a cotton pad or directly into your hand:
Color of the toner is a pale pink.Smell is super strong, like grape. I had to get used to it for ages, and by the time I was halfway through the bottle, it didn't bother me as much.
Consistency is super watery:
How to use:
Twice a day - morning and evening. Before applying, make sure to clean your skin with a micellar water and a face wash. After applying, I recommend following up with a nourishing serum and sealing it all in with a moisturizer.
Suitable for daily use.
My skin is prone to hyperpigmentation and things got really bad after having kids. My whole face was covered in different-sized spots. The biggest ones were under my eyes and above my lip, and my cheeks were just a scattering of smaller ones, like freckles. I've got a combination skin type, with an oily forehead and nose, but my cheeks are sensitive.
My experience with it.
I prefer to apply the toner using a cotton pad, which is how I've been doing it.
It's not complicated at all. After washing my face, I just dampen the pad and apply the toner.
I started using the toner when my skin was at its worst, and I was desperate for something gentle that wouldn't strip my skin of its natural oils. I'm not a fan of harsh peels or other aggressive treatments, so I was hoping this toner would help me get rid of the hyperpigmentation without causing any irritation.
At first, I didn't notice any negative reaction after applying the toner. It didn't sting my skin, either when I applied it or afterwards. But over time, it caused a sensitivity reaction on my skin, since I hadn't used any other products with acids after that.
I thought the toner wasn't working at all. I mean, I didn't see any redness or flakiness on my skin, nothing. I even thought it was a waste of money.
But after two months, I noticed that many of my skincare products started stinging my skin, even though my skin had always tolerated them before. I couldn't figure out the culprit at first, but I thought it could be anything but the toner. Then I started removing products one by one and realized that the toner was the problem. It just strips away the protective layer of my skin, making it even more sensitive than it was before. Thanks a lot, I guess.
Although I did see some minor improvements in fading the pigmentation, and I went ahead and finished the bottle:
Before and After:
As you can see, my main problem area is under my eyes. The pigmentation was caused by hormonal changes and a lack of SPF in my skincare routine (yeah, I was pretty irresponsible back then).
Oh no, it seemed like it was working at first! But then I got too busy dealing with health issues and just forgot about it.
I thought to myself, 'Well, I guess it didn't work for me.' But then I got a crazy urge to buy it again, and I'm not even kidding, I bought it a second time. And again, it caused delayed irritation on my skin, and I just tossed the rest of the bottle in the toilet.
Verdict: I thought it was just water at first, but after a few months, I realized it did have some acidic properties that actually worked. But unfortunately, it didn't agree with my skin, causing a hyper-sensitivity reaction, and I had to stop using it both times. I wouldn't recommend it or buy it again.
It still works; Easy to apply; No redness or flakiness; Affordable.
It's not for everyone; No percentage of acid is listed; Causes hyper-sensitivity reactions; Results take a long time to show up; Strong grape-like scent; No tamper-evident seal.
Thanks for reading, folks!
