Portable Spiral Electric Heater with Mechanical Thermostat, 2000W - Art: 82456537

This portable spiral electric heater has been a total game-changer for personal use. I've been using it for a week, and the build quality is seriously impressive. The 2000W output gives me consistent warmth, and the mechanical thermostat gives me peace of mind. It's super easy to use, and its compact design makes it perfect for any room or office. I've been really impressed with the value for money, too - it's been a lifesaver on chilly mornings.

A Portable Heater That's Saved My Basement (and My Sanity)

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently replaced my old stationary heater with a portable one from Le Bric, a French hardware store. This space heater has been a total game-changer for my basement – it's saved my sanity and kept me warm on chilly nights. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm impressed with its performance, build quality, and ease of use. The buttons feel solid, and the battery life is longer than I expected. I was a bit skeptical about the design at first, but it's grown on me. If you're in the market for a reliable portable heater, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try. It's perfect for small spaces, and the fact that it's portable is a huge plus. I can take it with me wherever I go, which is super convenient. Plus, it's surprisingly quiet, considering its size and power.

A Portable Heater That's Saved My Basement (and My Sanity)
I've had my fair share of space heaters over the years, but this one's been a game-changer. I recently replaced my old stationary heater in the bathroom with a portable one, and I'm so glad I did.
I bought this space heater from Le Bric, a French hardware store I'd never heard of before. They seem to have a good reputation online, and I was happy to give them a try.
In this review, I'll be sharing my experience with this portable space heater, its performance, pros, and cons, and comparing it to my old stationary one to see which one's better – a space heater or an oil-filled radiator.
Before I dive in, I wanted to mention that I was searching for a thread to post this review and I came across a few threads with similar, if not identical, space heaters from other brands.I counted at least five threads from different manufacturers that seem to be importing the same design. It's weird to me that they'd all go for the same design, but I guess it's not entirely surprising given the market.
Tandem NSB-200ADelta (no model number mentioned)
Sakura sa-0500w
Oasis SB-20R (this one looks almost identical, even the regulators are black)
365 DAYS SC-200А (this one was on sale for 299 rubles!!!)
They all look identical to me. And the fact that there's a '365 days' brand among them - a brand from the Lenta chain stores - just confirms my suspicion that this model is made in China, and then different importers slap their logo on top and sell it under their own name.
Now, since they're sold under different names, it's not possible to gather them all in one place. Just keep in mind that this model is probably not a branded one, but an imported one.
It's likely that the model isn't a branded one, but an imported one.If you can't find it at Leroy Merlin, you can probably find a similar one elsewhere, with a different brand logo. It's hard to say whether they're identical inside, despite looking the same. Usually, brands try to create their own unique design.
By the way, there are some other spiral heaters that look similar, like 'To what you need!' and 'Great price', but without the left regulator.
I paid 673 rubles for mine. And it looks like that's a middle-of-the-road price for similar models, although it seemed budget-friendly to me at the time. The most expensive model I found costs 1300 rubles.
Our new heater has a long name that's identical to a few other models from the same brand.
Yes, Leroy Merlin's website has six completely different heaters with the exact same name!
Spiral Electric Heater Equation with Mechanical Thermostat, 2000 W
I picked the handheld model with a handle because I needed a portable heater to take down to the basement and garage.
My model's article number is 82456537, which is different from the one in the images.
The heater came in a box, but it got tossed out before I could take a photo.
The bottom has a sticker with the info and a note that it was ordered for Leroy Merlin.
The heater is pretty small, with a clear front and back. Since it's a blower, the heat is directed, which is another reason I chose this over a standard portable heater.
Don't place it too close to the wall, as you'll need some space behind for airflow to circulate properly.
The manufacturer recommends a meter's distance, but that's not always feasible in most rooms. I don't always follow that rule. What's essential is having some space behind and no materials that might melt or deform from the heat. Тепловентилятор Equation Переносной спиральный электрический с механическим термостатом, 2000 Вт Арт: 82456537 Key features:
It comes with an overheat protection feature. Category of electrical appliance – class 2: double electrical insulation. Two modes of operation: 1000W and 2000W, plus a simple fan mode a convenient handle for carrying the device Technical specifications:

I was pleasantly surprised by how compact this space heater is – it's perfect for tossing onto a desk or nightstand.
The Equation space heater comes with some nice touches, like tiny feet and a pair of regulators:Left temperature regulator: cooler or warmerRight fan regulator:Just a gentle breeze (works as a fan)1000-watt mode2000-watt mode (I usually use this one)The space heater also features a convenient carrying handle.
It's really comfortable to hold, and it's not too heavy – I can easily carry it around without straining my arm.
The space heater itself is super lightweight, which makes it even more portable. I can even see a weakling or a kid easily lugging it around.
When the space heater's on, a little light turns on:
The power cord was a bit of a letdown for me – it's a bit too short.
The power cord is 1.1 meters long.
Most of the time, this length isn't enough, especially when you need to keep a safe distance from the walls, as the manufacturer recommends. I've found myself reaching for extenders quite often. The plug is a standard one, which works perfectly with Russian outlets. I've gotten so used to USB plugs that I've almost forgotten about these.

USAGE
I bought this heat blower for a few reasons:
✔️ To dry out our basement. We had some water seep in after a heavy rain, and it even started growing mold.
Check out my review of the Sanatex mold removerThe heat blower did a decent job, but it had to work for almost a full day to get the job done.
✔️ To quickly heat up or dry out our bathroom on the first floor. We have a permanent heat blower on the second floor.
✔️ To quickly heat up the rooms. Sometimes, our electricity gets cut off, and our heating system stops working. When the power comes back on, it takes a while for the heating system to warm up the whole house. We don't have enough space heaters for all the rooms.
✔️ I've found it's a real game-changer for using in the garage on a cold day. A regular heater would be wasting heat on the whole space, but a heat blower lets you direct the warmth exactly where you need it, and it heats up way faster.

There's a warning symbol at the top that says not to use it as a clothes dryer. Some brands have a written warning in place of the logo, but my Equation heater has the logo right there.

HEAT BLOWERS VS. HEATERS: WHAT'S THE BETTER CHOICE?
At home, I've got a few heaters, including a big oil-filled one, so I can do a little comparison.
Why heat blowers are better than regular heaters:
They're great for drying out a basement or other damp space. They heat up a room way faster than a regular heater. There's a fan mode, so you can use it in the summer.Directed airflow means you can use it in a big, cold space and warm up right away, without having to wait for the whole space to heat up.It's small and lightweight, so you can move it around easily – even to the basement or garage.Heat blowers are way cheaper than oil-filled heaters. It's easier to find a spot to store it when it's not in use.Where heat blowers fall short:
The coverage area is a lot smaller, to be honest. My Equation space heater is only designed for rooms up to 20 square meters. It's a lot weaker, even after the boiler kicks in. I only use it for the initial blast, and then I switch to a regular heater. There's a noticeable hum coming from it.The warm air streams can be a bit uncomfortable to feel. When used directly, it can dry out your skin and hair. The room cools down just as quickly when it's turned off.
When it comes down to it, the pros and cons of the space heater and the oil-filled radiator are pretty similar. It's clear that each device has its own unique purpose and use case. The oil-filled radiator is designed for constant heating of a specific space, while the space heater is a portable, mobile device meant for temporary use in different areas.
So, it's not really fair to compare which one is better – the space heater or the oil-filled radiator. Each has its own strengths and will be the better choice depending on your specific needs.
xa0
SPACE HEATING CAPACITY
The Equation space heater has a limitation on the area it can heat. It's capped at 20 square meters.
Even with an 18-square-meter room, the space heater struggles to keep it warm.
I've found the Equation portable spiral electric heater to be a lifesaver in larger rooms. It heats up quickly, especially when directed at a specific area. However, the overall heat output is less than what you'd get from a standard heater. Still, my standard heater takes about 15 minutes to warm up, which feels like an eternity when the house has dropped in temperature after a power outage.
The noise from the heater's fan isn't overpowering, but it's there. It gets to me, and I find myself getting tired of it quickly. That's why I prefer using the standard heater in my bedroom and reserving the portable one for other tasks.
The body doesn't get too hot.
I haven't noticed any plastic or other unpleasant smells during operation.
Equation Portable Spiral Electric Heater with Mechanical Thermostat, 2000W, Article: 82456537THE VERDICT
The Equation portable heater from Leroy Merlin has been a useful addition to my household. I'm not sure how long it'll last – there are plenty of reviews on the website saying it broke down after a few months. Mine's been working fine for a few months now, although it does get a workout sometimes.
Completely lives up to its purposePortableCompactLightweightEasy to useNo unpleasant smells during operationCons:
The cord is a bit shortYou can hear a bit of a humI'm really happy with how the Equation heat vent works. Heat vent vs oil heater - it's tough to say which one is better, since each has its pros and cons. You've got to think about what you're using it for. Hopefully, my review will help you make a decision.
I'm not sure about apartments, but for a private home, a heat vent is a super useful thing. I'm really happy with mine - it's been a lifesaver.
