My Cat's Verdict on Perfect Fit Immunity Chicken in Jelly with Spirulina: Not Exactly a Hit

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm not exactly a cat food connoisseur, but I know my kitty's got refined tastes. I've tried a bunch of different brands, from Viskas to Felix, and even splurged on the fancier stuff. But when it comes down to it, my cat's not picky - she'll eat whatever's in front of her. I decided to give Perfect Fit's Immunity series a shot, hoping it would be a hit with my feline friend. Unfortunately, the chicken in jelly with spirulina didn't quite live up to my expectations. My cat's a big fan of liquid food, and this just didn't cut it. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's definitely not the best. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect cat food, and I'll keep trying different brands until I find it. I've got to say, the packaging is pretty standard, but it gets the job done. The ingredients list is decent, with some good stuff in there like spirulina. It's not the most expensive cat food on the market, so that's a plus. My cat didn't have any major issues with it, no vomiting or diarrhea. The texture is okay, not too chunky or too runny. It's easy to serve, just pour it into her bowl and she's good to go. But, let's be real, my cat just didn't take to it. She prefers her other liquid foods, and the flavor's not bad, but it's not great either - it's just kind of... there. The ingredients list could be better, I'd like to see more protein sources. It's not the most filling food, my cat gets hungry again pretty quickly. I don't love the idea of spirulina in cat food, but I guess it's not a deal-breaker. The price could be lower, especially considering it's not the best food out there.

Hello everyone!
I'm not exactly a connoisseur when it comes to deciphering cat food ingredients - my top priority is making sure my kitty's never hungry. As for whether she'll eat Viskas, Felix, or something fancier, that's not really my concern. In practice, the price of the food doesn't seem to be a reliable indicator of whether she'll actually eat it. I've had those 70-100 ruble 'mice' that just dried out in her bowl.
I think my logic is pretty clear, especially since my cat's a bit of a picky eater. She loves her liquid food and goes through it quickly, and her tastes are always changing.
I wasn't a huge fan of Perfect Fit, but I decided to give their Immunity series a shot. I wrote about the beef version here, and now I'm reviewing the Perfect Fit Immunity chicken in gel with spirulina.
Perfect Fit Immunity chicken in gel with spirulinaThe packaging is cute, and my kitty looks adorable. As for the format, it's standard nothing-new-here - just a standard foil packet.
Where to buy? I picked it up at the local Magnit near my place, but I'm sure I could find it at other stores too.
Price is around 30 rubles per packet.
Net weight is 75 grams.
The packaging is full of useful information - you can find everything you need to know right on the packet. Perfect Fit always has a lot of promises and magical properties listed on their packaging.
Perfect Fit cat foodThis food is suitable for adult and sterilized cats.
Perfect fit immunityI'm not sure how much of an impact these superfoods really have on our pets, but I figure they can't hurt, right?
A bit more on the full ingredients list and feeding recommendations:
Perfect fitI don't have much to say about this, but I do appreciate when manufacturers at least give us a rough idea of the percentage of meat ingredients used. Of course, they can easily skew the numbers to their advantage, but still. The fact that each chunk has at least 80% meat ingredients is a plus, but I wish they'd get more specific about it.
The packaging has those little notches and I had no issues opening it. The material itself is actually better than what I've seen with some other brands in this regard.
Perfect fit wet cat foodThis Perfect Fit Immunity chicken in gel with spirulina has a pretty pleasant aroma. Not meaty, per se, but it's got a hint of meat paste to it.
Cat food Perfect fit immunityInside the packaging, everything looks nice - one gel layer with a bunch of meat chunks. It looks pretty normal, to be honest.
Perfect fit cat food In comparison to the beef version of this series, the chicken is more watery, and it's not just the jelly - there's also plain water in the pack. There's not a lot of it, but the moisture level is higher, even though the stats are the same.
The jelly color is uniform, and there are plenty of meat chunks.
Cat food Perfect Fit Immunity chicken in jelly Before giving the food to my cat, I give it a little squeeze to make it easier for her to eat. My cat is already getting up there in age...
Perfect fit immunity cat food She devoured it with much more enthusiasm than the beef version. The jelly was no problem at all, but the chunks were a different story - it was harder for her to chew them. I tried to mash them up with my hands, and they're actually pretty easy to do, but it was tough for the cat to chew.
Cat food Perfect Fit Immunity chicken in jelly with spirulina reviews She wasn't just swallowing them whole, she was actually trying to chew them, which is already a good sign. Either it's because of her weak teeth or something else, but the food just wasn't cooperating. She'd look up at me with this disapproving expression, like, 'Come on, make it easier for me.' I'd have to leave the room and come back a few times before she'd try again. It was a similar problem with the beef version, but not as bad.
I always divide the food into smaller meals, and about half of the pack was left in the bowl:
Cat Food with Superfoods ReviewI ended up throwing away about a third of the pieces in the bag because my cat just wouldn't eat them. For my adult cat with dental issues, the chicken-based Perfect Fit Immunity food was just too hard for her to chew.
The Perfect Fit Immunity chicken in jelly with spirulina is a complete diet, which is a plus, but I wouldn't say my cat was stuffed after eating it. If the feeding intervals were a bit shorter after beef, she was still asking for food as usual. It's probably just because she wasn't eating the harder bits.
Perfect Fit Immunity ReviewsI didn't notice any negative impact on her health or behavior. She didn't drink more water or go to the bathroom more often than usual.
Maybe the food itself is okay, but the palatability just isn't there, and I won't be buying it again. My cat has trouble chewing the meat strips, and there's just too much waste.
So what do we have here?
Perfect Fit Immunity chicken in jelly with spirulina just didn't cut it for my picky eater – literally. I won't be buying it again, but it might suit someone else better.
