As a result, they either lost the item or ended up with a whole lot of problems.
However, in my case, before making the decision to buy something on credit, I weighed up all the risks and still decided to go for it.
I needed to replace the summer tires on my car soon, and you know how it is - everything wears out eventually. I decided to buy them on Ozon. I've bought a lot of things from this platform before and, overall, I'm pretty happy with our mutually beneficial relationship. I'm not going to go into too much detail about the Ozon online store, as I've already shared my thoughts on it before. By the way, a lot of my opinions have changed for the better, and I plan to update my previous review with some new facts.
Today, I wanted to tell you about Ozon's credit option, its specifics, limits, overdue payments, and early repayment, based on my personal experience.
How long is the credit period?
For some reason, on Ozon, you can only buy something on credit for a period of 6 months. On the one hand, it's good - it's easier to pay a large sum in smaller installments. On the other hand, a small purchase can be paid back within a shorter period.
What can you buy on credit?
You can buy any products on Ozon, except for alcohol, gift certificates, and items that are only available for booking. 'Tickets and hotels' are also not available for credit purchase.
I ended up buying four tires for my car.
The checkout process was surprisingly straightforward. On the product page, which I chose from the OZON online store, I just added it to my cart and then navigated to the checkout page.
Yes, I almost forgot to mention that one condition for buying a product on credit is having a virtual or plastic OZON bank card. I happen to have both.
On the product page, below the main price, there's a line with the amount and the text '6 months in OZON Credit'. When I clicked on it, I was taken to the OZON Bank page, where I clicked 'Apply for Credit'. The next page appeared. I log in to my account with this credit card company using a 4-digit password.
The limit and payment schedule page appears. I can make the first payment a month after purchase, but I chose to pay it earlier.
After successful payment, this window pops up. The next payment can also be made from home. I just log in to my OZON Bank account in the OZON Rassrochka section. Under the payment schedule, I click 'Proceed to payment.' A payment window appears where I choose the card to pay with and enter the amount.
After completing the payment, another window appears. My account page shows the last transaction I made. It's easiest to make payments from my ruble account in Ozon's bank. I already shared my experience with using Ozon bank card.
Which card is automatically debited?
Money is automatically deducted from it on the day I specified in the schedule.
When I applied for a payment plan, I added an extra card in case I didn't have enough funds on the main one. You can change or add more payment sources.
How is automatic payment debited in case of delay?
According to Ozon bank's administration, the system will try to debit the money daily from the first day of delay (the day after the payment date) in the following order:
100% of the outstanding debt;50% of the debt;25% of the remaining debt.Since I never missed a payment, I couldn't fully assess the impact of Ozon bank's administrative resources.
Early repayment of the payment plan.
You can do it at any time and for any amount. Your available limit will increase by the amount you paid, minus the cost of Ozon's payment plan. When you make a payment, it goes towards the next payment due. The difference between the amount you paid and the next payment due is spread evenly across the following months. If the next payment is already paid, the entire amount is spread across several months after that.
When you make a partial payment on a layaway plan, the monthly payment amount goes down, but the payback period stays the same.
I have to say, setting up Ozone Layaway and making payments on it is an absolute breeze.
