Odbo BQ Cover Long Lasting Mascara Review
I've been a fan of L'Oreal mascara for ages, but when I found myself in a foreign country, I couldn't resist buying a new one, especially if it was on sale. That's exactly what happened in Thailand - I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a new mascara.
Today I'm reviewing the Odbo BQ Cover Long Lasting Mascara - the lengthening and volumizing mascara.
Odbo BQ Cover Long Lasting Mascara - the lengthening and volumizing mascara reviewCost: around 400 rubles
Manufacturing: Thailand
Place of purchase: 7-eleven store
Packaging.
The mascara came in a big, eye-catching package that immediately caught my attention in the store. Other mascaras were just plain black cases, but this one stood out with its bright green color.
The back of the package features a picture of an eye with ridiculously long lashes - the kind I wish I had.
The package had a tamper-evident seal.
The mascara case itself was the same bright green metallic color.
The case holds 10ml of product.
The mascara has a screw-top lid.
The casing has a limiting ring. It does a great job of keeping excess mascara that the brush picks up separate.
The Brush.
The brush is silicone, and it's not fluffy at all. It's got tiny bristles instead.

The bristles on the brush are the same size from every angle. They get smaller towards the tip.
The problem with this mascara is that there's always a ton of product left on the brush when you take it out of the casing. I had to constantly wipe it off. If you don't, you'll end up with mascara all over your eyelid and under-eye area. It's impossible to apply it neatly.
My Lashes.
My lashes aren't as thick or long as they used to be, and they're falling out a lot more than they used to.
For me, it's crucial that the mascara lengthens my lashes, adds volume, but is easy to remove without yanking on my lashes during makeup removal.
Application.
This mascara turned out to be of medium density and wasn't liquid even with the first applications. Although I'm used to mascaras being liquid at first, this one was different.
To prevent my lashes from clumping, I always used a lash separator to keep them apart, and they looked great.
If I didn't do that, I'd get those pesky 'spider legs'.
I'm not a fan of applying mascara in one coat. I always apply 2-3 coats. With zig-zag motions, I apply it to my upper lashes on both eyes, then to my lower lashes.
My lower lashes separate immediately, but for my upper lashes, no matter how many coats I apply, I still use a lash separator.
Removal.
And that's where this mascara surprised me. It took a while to remove it with a makeup remover pad.
I had to hold the pad still, not move it back and forth. If I held it for a minute, all the mascara would come off onto the pad instantly.
I've found that if I try to remove the mascara by gently swiping a damp cotton pad across my lashes, nothing comes off - and I'm left with a bunch of lashes falling out with the mascara still attached.
So, I just leave it on and let it dry - and that seems to work a lot better.
The result.
Applying the mascara is a bit of a dance - first you apply the mascara, then the lashes stick together, and you have to use a lash comb to separate them, and that's when it looks really good. It gives you nice, voluminous lashes.
I have to say, I do like the way my lashes look with this mascara, but only after I've separated them.
I was thinking of taking this mascara on holiday with me, but I realized I didn't want to be messing around with separating my lashes all the time - and without doing that, I'd be walking around with three-gigantus lashes. So, I ended up buying a different mascara (L'Oreal, of course).
I thought maybe the problem was with the expiration date - but it's not until October 2027.
Unfortunately, by the evening, the mascara has started to flake off and I get these little black spots under my eyes. I'm guessing it's because the consistency of the mascara isn't super liquidy.
It's not hard to wipe it off, but I don't want to have to think about it every time - when I do wipe it off, everything looks fine again.
Removing the makeup is also a bit of a pain - if I spend a long time applying and separating my lashes in the morning, I have to spend just as long taking it all off at night. But at least it comes off with regular micellar water.
Overall, I was really disappointed with the Odbo BQ Cover Long Lasting Mascara. It was a hassle to work with.

No matter what other mascara I try, I always end up going back to the L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Lift.
