A Coffee Lover's Dream Machine: My Delonghi Dinamica ecam 350.55 B Review

The Perfect Flat White - Like a Dessert! The Story Behind My Purchase. I'm a total coffee enthusiast, and brewing coffee is a meditative process for me. The actual 'coffee ritual' is a real treat. Last year, my daughter bought me a coffee machine as a gift, but she returned it the next day. She thought it would ruin the whole experience: when my partner made me coffee, he'd grind the beans, add them to the French press or our Italian stovetop espresso maker, which we brought back from a road trip in Europe. It was all very romantic for both of us :). But on my birthday, my mom really wanted to get me a special gift. She was inspired by my sister's Delonghi Cappuccino machine. I thought it was a pointless purchase, and I'd be better off spending the money on something else. So, when we went to the store, I thought I'd take a look at a simpler machine, like the Delonghi Magnifica, and if I liked it, I'd order it online and use the remaining money to buy something else useful :). My budget was 50,000 rubles, and I was only considering Delonghi machines. After comparing the Magnifica, Cappuccino, and Dinamica, I chose the Dinamica ECAM 350.55 B. With all our discounts, it cost me 45,000 rubles.

The Coffee Grinder Regulator Why I Chose the Dinamica ECAM 350.55 B. I chose this machine for several reasons. First, it lets you program all your favorite drinks. You can set the exact amount of milk and coffee, and even adjust the strength. Our previous model didn't have this feature. Second, the milk tube has been improved. It's easier to clean, and milk won't get stuck or go sour. Third, it comes with a 5-year warranty, which is a big plus for me. Lastly, it's made in Italy, although that's not a huge deal for me.

This Delonghi Dinamica ecam 350.55 B coffee machine makes an off-grid flat white - and it's incredible! Of course, you can adjust the settings and brew it in a simpler machine, but here it's an automatic setting. And let me tell you, it's like a dessert.

Programming Drinks

After each milk coffee brew, you need to lower the milk frothing wand handle on the lid to the right position for cleaning the milk tube.

The machine automatically turns off after a while (you can set the timer).

The grinder has 13 settings. Note that you should only change the grind setting when the machine is grinding coffee. Otherwise, it might break - as the manufacturer warns in the manual. But we left it on the factory settings. We're happy with the coffee we get.

The machine alerts you to all necessary actions on the screen: Clean the coffee grounds container, fill the water tank, and clean the milk frothing wand.

One major drawback is that the machine doesn't alert you when the water or coffee is running low. So, if you're making your favorite cappuccino and the water runs out, it'll froth the milk and only then let you know the water's gone. Or, it'll froth the milk and then tell you the coffee's run out. Not very convenient, especially when you're in a rush. You can see how much coffee's left on top, but the water container's on the side, so it's a bit of a hassle to keep checking. But that's just how it is.

You can set the water temperature. We set it to the highest setting. I love my coffee hot.

I was missing a temperature setting for the cappuccino, but I managed to work around it. I started making my cappuccinos to my own specifications – less froth and more coffee. And now I'm happy with the results. But I don't save my settings, so my partner has to make my coffee by hand, following the right ratio of coffee to milk and pressing the right buttons.

Make your cappuccinos and flat whites in transparent cups – it looks great! For me, drinking coffee is all about the flavor. Coffee with handmade confetti, which you can make in just 10 minutes, takes it to the next level.

You can make coffee in the car: latte, flat white, cappuccino (all three differ in the amount of milk), any type of coffee, and even two cups of regular coffee at the same time.

You can adjust the milk froth density by turning the regulator on the milk container.

You need to set the water hardness on the machine, and it'll suggest cleaning the limescale. It does it automatically, but you'll need to replace the milk container with a small tube – it comes with the machine.

13. There's an option to view your statistics: how many cups of coffee you've made with and without milk. After three months of use, we've made 407 cups of coffee (with and without milk combined).

14. When you're done with the milk container, remove it and put it in the fridge without spilling. Cold milk froths better and has less fat content. I prefer Domes in the Village and Prostokvashino.
