My mom once told me that a toilet is a true reflection of a homeowner's cleanliness. A clean or dirty toilet says a lot about a person's tidiness or lack thereof. Ever since, I've made it a point to keep my apartment spotless. To achieve this, I have an arsenal of cleaning products, and today I'd like to share my experience with Wonder Lab's toilet bowl cleaner. I've reviewed some of their other products before, and you can find the links at the end of this article.
Today, let's focus on the eco-friendly gel and its effectiveness in removing stains.

PACKAGING/ DESIGN
The elongated, slightly flattened plastic bottle has a resemblance to the rest of the brand's product line, which differ only in color. This one features a white-purple hue.
On the back of the bottle, you'll find the product description, composition, usage instructions, and storage conditions provided by the manufacturer.
I was surprised to find some useful info on one of the sides – nothing out of the ordinary compared to similar products from other manufacturers.
The extended nozzle with a small hole and a bend is really handy for distributing the product under the toilet rim.
The nozzle is covered with a small cap that has a screw-on mechanism – it tightens securely and doesn't leak. However, there's no protection against the first opening, which is not a big deal for me, considering it's a household chemical.
WHAT'S IN IT?

The brand positions itself as an eco-friendly household chemical manufacturer. The cleaning component is microgel polysaccharides, which are made from fruits and vegetables. There's also an organic acid present – I'm assuming it's likely citric acid, used to remove limescale and some stains. Additionally, there's a preservative, although I'm not sure which one, to prevent the product from spoiling quickly.
I was a bit disappointed to not find any disinfecting component, which I found quite concerning.
ORGANOLEPTICS
The gel is quite runny and lacks viscosity and density. It spreads like water.
It's transparent, with no sediment and a light blue hue. Almost no scent, which might be a plus for some.
APPLICATION AND IMPRESSIONS
I keep my toilet clean, so it wasn't particularly dirty to start with. Before cleaning, I applied a small amount of gel under the toilet rim.
It was easy to distribute, thanks to the nozzle's shape. It's perfect for this area.
However, the product is too runny and just spreads on the toilet wall, not really interacting with it. After applying the gel under the rim, I left it for about 5-10 minutes.
Then, I put on rubber gloves, grabbed a cloth with some gel on it, and started cleaning. I wiped down the toilet seat, lid, and handle. I cleaned the toilet bowl and under the rim with a brush. Finally, I rinsed the cloth and wiped down the toilet (seat, lid, and handle) and washed away all the dirt. That's it.
I'm not sure how well it would handle tough stains, mineral deposits, or urine stones. Since my toilet wasn't that dirty, it did a decent job. The toilet looks clean and even shines - no stains, yellowing, or mineral deposits.
I was also happy with how easy it was to clean, thanks to the lack of a strong, pungent smell that some other cleaners have. I didn't need to break out the mask.
But I have to say, I was a bit disappointed that it doesn't contain any disinfecting or antibacterial agents. For me, it's not just about cleaning - I want to know that I'm disinfecting too, for that extra sense of sterility. It felt like I was just cleaning the toilet with water, lemon juice, and some foamy stuff.
Still, I think toilets are one of those places that need more than just cleaning - they need disinfecting too. So, despite the good cleaning properties and the lack of a strong smell, I'm not sure I'd repurchase this or use it with a disinfecting product.
THE VERDICT
It's clear that the Eco-Gel for toilet cleaning from Wonder Lab has both pros and cons. I shared my thoughts above, and you can decide for yourself if it's worth the buy. I think those who value an eco-friendly formula and no smell will appreciate it - it does a great job with its main task. But for others, like me, it might not be enough.
