Vernal Sensual Rose Fabric Conditioner Concentrate

This stuff is a total game-changer for everyday laundry. It's a super-concentrated formula that leaves your clothes smelling amazing and feeling ridiculously soft. I'm talking about the delicate rose scent - it's perfect for anyone who wants a fresh, clean smell without overpowering their clothes. Plus, it reduces static cling, so you don't have to worry about your clothes getting all frizzy after a wash. The best part? It's gentle enough for even the most delicate fabrics, so you can use it on your favorite sweaters and lingerie without worrying about damage.

A design disaster with a scent that's more like a wild card - Vernell's Concentrated Fabric Conditioner 'Sensitive Rose Aromatherapy' feels like kitsch.

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm not one for fancy scents, but I'm always up for trying new fabric conditioners. Vernell's Concentrated Fabric Conditioner 'Sensitive Rose Aromatherapy' had me intrigued, but unfortunately, it's a design disaster with a scent that's more like a wild card. The bottle's unique shape is hard to grip, and the imitation pattern on the sleeve is a bit of a letdown. Despite its claims, it didn't impress me with its performance, and the scent is just not my cup of tea. I'd say it's worth a try if you're looking for something different, but for me, it's a total letdown. One thing I do appreciate is that it's concentrated, so a little goes a long way, and the transparent bottle makes it easy to see how much product is left. The manufacturer also provides clear instructions on usage and properties, which is a plus. However, the price is a bit steep for what you get, and the claims about inspiring body and soul feel a bit far-fetched.

A design disaster with a scent that's more like a wild card - Vernell's Concentrated Fabric Conditioner 'Sensitive Rose Aromatherapy' feels like kitsch.
I use fabric conditioners to freshen up clothes that have been sitting around for a while, but I'm a fan of crisp cleanliness and don't need any softeners. I switch up conditioners all the time to find the perfect scent.
The Vernel Fabric Conditioner Concentrated 'Sensitive Rose Aromatherapy' is another contender for the chopping block.
The Vernel concentrated fabric conditioner contains essential oils that are meant to inspire both body and soul. It leaves a pleasant scent and softness on fabrics, making ironing a breeze and leaving a gentle anti-static effect.
The bottle is a bit of an odd shape, with a narrowing on the sides that makes it harder for me to use. The bottle itself is transparent plastic, and all the excitement is on the thermoplastic sleeve. It's got a nice design, but the imitation pattern is a bit of a letdown. The back has all the usual suspects: ingredients, usage instructions, properties, and the manufacturer's info. It's nice to see a clear guide on how to use the conditioner, as not everyone gets it right.
I've got to say, the front of the packaging looks like a designer's element was tested out. Each individual design element looks great on its own, but the overall picture is just a mess. The gypsy style is so over-the-top, and it's topped off with a golden dome!
The neck of the bottle is wide, and it closes with a standard screw-top cap that's got a useful central dropper to prevent the liquid from dripping down the bottle after you've closed it.
This conditioner is a pale, semi-transparent liquid with a relatively low concentration. The scent is intense and reminiscent of something thick, fluffy, and soft, with a soapy, shampoo-like quality that's unmistakably floral, but not rose-like at all. The actual flower on the bottle looks more like a hawthorn, but this smell is closer to the typical scent of a rose.
Concentrated laundry conditioner Verneil Aromatherapy Sensual Rose 870 ml (34 washes) will not only give your laundry incredible softness but also a vivid, sensual scent of wild hibiscus with notes of rose. And thanks to special aroma capsules in the composition, the laundry conditioner Verneil allows you to enjoy an intense scent of laundry for up to 140 days (if the laundry is stored without use).
Ah, that's the scent of wild hibiscus. So, why the sensually-rose-like bait? If you can smell the conditioner in the store, buying it with shipping (like in my case) will be a surprise.
This isn't a super-concentrate, and it's not even a concentrate in terms of efficiency and usage. 870 ml for 34 washes is around 25.5 ml per wash of four kilograms of laundry. Today's washing machines hold twice as much, and you'll need twice as much fabric softener for that amount. And what's the saving, if any? 25 ml is just the standard plus/minus amount of any rinse aid for a standard wash.
I've had this fabric softener for a while now, and it's still going strong. The packaging is from Ivanovo, made from real cotton. Not that tough polyester mesh they use nowadays, but a smooth, dense cotton fabric that weighs 2300 grams. I've got one damp duvet still hanging up as I type this.
I used double the recommended amount of fabric softener for one wash, filling the cap up to the brim and pouring it into the rinse aid compartment. I needed to refresh a set of clean laundry that had been lying around for a while.
I have to say, the fabric was pretty rough, with some wrinkles, and after drying, the laundry room had a faint smell of fabric softener. But, after a day, I folded the laundry and couldn't detect any scent or softness. To be honest, the Iris Vernell fabric softener didn't do much to soften the fabric and prevent it from getting all crinkly.
I also washed a pretty rough summer sheet set from Unison, which was supposed to be made of cotton. But, with that rough weaving, I could feel some rough spots on my skin. Two days after washing, the sheet set had no detectable scent of fabric softener and was still just as rough.
To be fair, this happens with any type of fabric. However, there is a positive note: while it may not last for the 140 days promised by the manufacturer, fabric softeners do help get rid of those stale, musty smells that cling to clothes and bedding. These smells don't appear if you wash at high temperatures – basically, just washing properly. But, with modern fabrics, that's often not an option. I'm not sure if Vernell is actually helping to keep fabrics fresh or if it's just because I'm washing my bedding at 60°C and towels at 90°C.
If I'm being honest, I won't be buying Vernell 'Aromatherapy Sensitive Rose' again – it just doesn't live up to its promises.
