My Honest Review of Vernel's Gentle Symphony: A Fragrant Laundry Experience
I've always been drawn to Vernel air fresheners at the supermarket, thanks to their unique scent combinations and eye-catching packaging. My latest repeat purchase is this lovely air freshener with a pleasant and gentle aroma:
Vernel Aromatherapy+ Pion and White Tea Air Freshener
This concentrated air freshener from Vernel Aromatherapy+ Pion and White Tea (1.74 L or 69 washes) will give your laundry a soothing, relaxing scent inspired by nature. With special aroma capsules, the air freshener will let you enjoy an intense fragrance for up to 140 days. The Vernel Aromatherapy+ air freshener will distract you from daily worries with its pion, white tea, and cedarwood and musk notes. Suitable for all types of fabrics.
Prices for air fresheners are most affordable in large hypermarkets. I purchased this air freshener at Hypermarket 'Lenta' for 329 rubles. The product comes in a 1740 ml plastic bottle, and the brand is VERNEL. The series is Aromatherapy+ Pion and white tea, and the country of origin is Russia. The aroma/fragrance is Pion, white tea, and the packaging type is a plastic bottle. Storage conditions require a temperature of +5 to +35 degrees, and the washing type is universal. The purpose of the product is for washing laundry, and the shelf life is 2 years.
Packaging: The packaging from Vernel caught my eye - it's bright, yet understated with a natural color palette. There's something nice about seeing a pink peony on a crisp white background. The overall aesthetic is super pleasing to the eye, organic, and natural-looking, even if the plastic bottle itself is a bit soft.
Now, the packaging for the conditioner has a QR code that wasn't there before, and when you hover over it with your phone's camera, it takes you straight to Vernel's official website. Listening to kids' stories and winning prizes is possible with this magical QR-code. As a parent, I was interested in this offer - you can entertain your child and even win 300,000 rubles for their repair. Other air conditioner buyers don't have this option.
You can find the maximum amount of information about the air conditioner on the reverse side of the packaging, including a brief description, methods of application and dosage, and precautions. Be careful: it may cause eye irritation upon contact. After use, wash your hands thoroughly. In case of eye contact, carefully rinse your eyes with water for several minutes. If eye irritation persists, seek medical help and show the product label if possible. Before use, read the information on the label. Keep out of reach of children!
The Vernel Aromatherapy+ Pion and White Tea air conditioner for laundry gives a pleasant aroma and softness. You only need less than half of the cap for one wash. It eases ironing and has an anti-static effect. Suitable for all types of fabrics.
COMPOSITION: This conditioner contains Vernel Piun and white tea, along with surfactants - you can see their concentration on the packaging. The composition includes 5 - 15% cationic surfactants, < 5% fragrances (including hexyl cinnamal, linalool, cinnamal, benzyl salicylate, and amyl cinnamal), preservative, and foam inhibitor.
However, what's concerning is that the manufacturer's information about the potential health risks associated with fragrances, including hexyl cinnamal, linalool, and amyl cinnamal, isn't clearly stated on the packaging. You'd only find this information from more honest sellers on marketplaces. In general, the surfactants in this conditioner can't be considered completely safe, especially when looking at their classification. The most hazardous to human health are anionic surfactants. They have bactericidal properties, but exhibit toxic properties when ingested by humans.
Our cationic surfactants in Vernel Piun have bactericidal properties, but exhibit toxic properties when ingested by humans. And then there are the safe surfactants - non-ionic surfactants. Their main advantage is their gentle effect on fabric and, most importantly, 100% biodegradability.
I've been using this laundry detergent for a while now, and I've learned a thing or two about the right dosage. The cap, when full, weighs around 55 grams, which is roughly equivalent to 55 milliliters. Since the detergent is quite concentrated, here are a few tips for using it effectively: you don't need to dilute it with water, and before using, it's a good idea to give it a good shake.
My hands-on experience with this detergent: aromatic freshness. The perfumers at Vernel have done an amazing job with the scent. It's a floral sweetness that's hard to put your finger on - I'm not even sure if it's pion or not, but it's deliciously floral, a bit earthy, and with just a hint of freshness from the tea notes. To be honest, I'm not familiar with white tea, so the tea notes remind me of my favorite green tea, 'Molten Ulu'. Of course, after a full wash cycle and rinse, the scent does fade significantly, becoming much milder and less intense.
One thing I've noticed is that the scent of the fabric softener can come out differently on different wash cycles in my automatic washing machine. For example, on delicate wash (cycle 1:15 minutes, at 30°C), the scent of the fabric softener is noticeable afterwards. On washing cotton items like towels and other household stuff for under 1.5 hours at 40°C, the scent is still pretty subtle. But on the 'Anti-Allergy' wash cycle, which takes over 2 hours at 60°C, the scent of the fabric softener is almost undetectable. It seems that the length of the wash cycle and its temperature have a direct impact on the longevity of the fabric softener's scent. This means that depending on these factors, the smell might linger on your clothes for a while or disappear right after the wash, leaving no trace behind.
Another thing I've noticed is that I don't smell the fabric softener on freshly washed, damp clothes. It only appears once they're completely dry. What's more, on synthetic fabrics, the scent of the fabric softener can come across as a bit chemical-y, unlike on natural fabrics.
What can and can't you wash with the conditioner? Now, I know the manufacturer says the conditioner is suitable for any fabric, but let's get real – it's not that simple. There are some nuances to consider. Don't even think about washing clothes with water-repellent properties – like my gym gear – with the conditioner. The concentrated formula can clog the spaces between the fabric's fibers, reducing its water-repelling abilities during intense workouts. Specialized gear, like my workout gear, shouldn't be washed with the conditioner either, for the same reason. And, for the same reason, it's not recommended to wash towels with the conditioner – but, I've been guilty of loving the fresh scent of Vernel conditioner on my freshly laundered towels.
By the way, clothes washed with Vernel Pion conditioner and white tea always feel soft and pleasant to the touch.
In general, let me summarize the conditioner's strengths and weaknesses: the scent is amazing – strong, yet pleasant, with a lovely tea aroma. After washing, it's soft and subtle. It makes clothes feel soft, and this detergent is pretty economical for most washing machines, especially when you're washing up to 5 kg of clothes. The value for money is great, considering the 1.74 ml volume. However, I've noticed that the conditioner's scent can be a bit harsh on synthetic fabrics. When you're using the intense cycle and high temperature, the conditioner can completely dissolve, leaving no lingering aroma. I'm not a huge fan of the ingredients in this product. There's no warning for people who are prone to allergic reactions.
I've already repurchased this conditioner, although I got the smaller 870 ml size this time because it was on sale. A quick rundown of some other reviews for Vernel conditioners, as well as some other laundry and cleaning products that contain PAVs: Vernel Ароматерапия Чувственная роза laundry conditioner, Laska Шерсть и шелк laundry gel for restoring wool and silk, AVS Горная свежесть laundry detergent, and Fairy Arbuz Dish Soap has been a game-changer for me when it comes to washing dishes.
