I've got a soft spot for laundry detergents, and when it comes to softening my clothes, I swear by capsules, powders, gels, and sheets – and of course, I always add fabric softeners, which usually come in liquid form, but sometimes you can find them in granules too.
For a long time, I've been experimenting with different fabric softener brands, trying to find one that's truly worth it. I've tried a lot of them, but I still haven't found a better alternative to my old favorite. Although, I do have another one on my to-try list, but today's review is all about Vernel's Aromatherapy 'Divine Magnolia' fabric softener.

PACKAGING
The fabric softener comes in a big, chubby, and elongated plastic bottle, wrapped in a green thermal sticker with the brand name written in big letters - Vernel, the series - Aromatherapy, the scent - Divine Magnolia, and an image of a flower, along with the volume - 1.74 liters.
I'm really impressed with how sturdy the bottle is - you can press it in with your fingers, even when it's twisted shut, thanks to the air and liquid inside. To keep it secure and in place, there are three little grooves on the back where you can put your fingers. You can control the flow with the special little windows on the back and side - they're like a wave. I was a bit hesitant to remove the plastic wrap, but it's not a big deal - it's actually kind of fun to see the product without it. On the other side, there's some info about the product, how to use it, dosage, and effectiveness. COMPOSITION 5 - 15 % cationic surfactants; < 5 % fragrance (including cinnamonaldehyde), preservative
The bottle closes with a golden cap made of the same plastic, but it's much denser and stiffer.
The lid doubles as a measuring cup, and it's done right - with double walls, so the excess product drains straight into the bottle when you screw it shut, rather than running down the sides. The bottle's neck is nice and wide. ORGANOLEPTICS You can get a sense of the conditioner's color in the store, because there are special little windows. The color of the conditioner is a milky white, like magnolia petals.
The conditioner is seriously concentrated - it's super thick. I mean, it's like fresh milk that's just started to curdle, but hasn't turned into yogurt yet. When you pour it into the dispenser, you even get little clumps. The scent, on the other hand, is a whole different story - it's amazing, super concentrated. Smells like flowers with a hint of freshness. Maybe it smells like magnolias, but I've never actually smelled one. Anyway, the scent is strong, bright, and rich.
APPLICATION
I always add the conditioner to the washing machine's dispenser before I start a cycle. I pour the stuff in by eye, because I have no idea how to measure things before I wash them, so I just go with my gut - that's how much I add, anyway, and it's the same with the laundry detergent.
I've got a ton of laundry to do, and it's all thanks to this washing machine. I used to be able to wear the same jeans for weeks, but now I can just toss them in the dirty clothes bin and be done with it. It's been a game-changer for our household. For me, it's the most essential appliance in the house - I could live without the rest. First thing I noticed is that this product has a super concentrated scent - when I take clothes out of the washing machine, the bathroom is filled with the smell of flowers. And it lasts for days, even overpowering my perfume! It's a bit overwhelming, but I actually love the smell, and I've even stopped using fabric sprays because this scent is enough for me. The aroma is especially strong on knitted items, and they come out feeling super soft and smooth after a wash. I no longer need to iron my sweaters - just add a fabric softener, and they're good to go.
I've gotta say, this fabric softener has been a total lifesaver for me. No more getting zapped by static electricity, and my hair doesn't stand on end when I take off my sweaters or hats. Plus, I'm not attracting all sorts of lint and pet hair anymore. But, I'll add a little bit of criticism to the mix...
One thing I don't love is that the fabric softener doesn't smooth out wrinkles in my bedding. It still looks a bit rumpled after washing, but at least it does iron smoothly. And, honestly, the scent could be stronger. I was hoping for a bit more of a fragrance, but it's pretty faint.
The towels didn't turn out soft after drying, but they did get a bit softer than before - still not as good as new, though. It's pretty clear from the photos that the fibers are still a bit rough, like little spikes. And, of course, there's still a bit of that great scent, but it's not as strong as it is on everyday items like t-shirts, shirts, pants, and sweaters... I wash my kitchen towels and cloths with a fabric softener, and they do turn out soft, but it would be great if they felt brand new or freshly ironed right after drying. THE VERDICT Finally, I can give a shout-out to this fabric softener - it's one of those cases where the old adage 'don't fix what ain't broke' really applies. I've always known that Vernel is a top seller and the first brand that comes to mind when I think of fabric softeners, but I've always wanted to try something new and started looking for alternatives. But this fabric softener really does work.
My only gripe is that the towels didn't turn out as soft as they were when I first bought them, but maybe if I'd used a high-quality fabric softener from the start, they wouldn't have gotten so rough over time.
It's worth noting that I've been using this fabric softener for a while now, and it's been a game-changer for my laundry. The scent is amazing, and it leaves my clothes feeling super soft and smooth. The anti-static effect is a total lifesaver - it makes ironing a breeze. However, the towels didn't turn out as soft as I'd hoped, but maybe that's just a result of using a lower-quality fabric softener in the past.
