Unicorns Approve Exfoliating Foot Mask

I've tried a lot of foot masks, but this one's a game-changer. Say goodbye to rough heels and hello to silky smooth feet with our Unicorns Approve Exfoliating Foot Mask. This foot mask is designed to gently scrub away dead skin cells, leaving your toes feeling refreshed and pampered. The formula's super effective, and you'll be on your way to soft, healthy-looking feet in no time.

My Disappointing Experience with Unicorns Approve Foot Mask

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was stoked to try the Unicorns Approve Foot Mask, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. The packaging and ingredient list looked super promising, but the application process was a total drag. It took way too long - two whole weeks - and even then, the results were pretty underwhelming. I was hoping for a quick and easy way to soften and exfoliate my feet, but this product just didn't deliver. If you're on the hunt for a convenient foot mask, you might want to keep looking. The Unicorns Approve Foot Mask is a total letdown.

Hello everyone!
I scored a ton of Unicorns Approve products at an insane discount, and one of the goodies I got was a foot mask. I thought it'd be a liquid keratolysis treatment in a more convenient format, but boy was I wrong.
This foot mask comes with everything you need, right out of the box - a mix of urea, lactic acid, glycerin, and other soothing and exfoliating agents. Check out the ingredient list in the photo.
But the application process? Yeah, that's a whole different story... It wasn't until I opened the packaging that I realized the exfoliation process wouldn't be a quick one - it'd take two weeks to complete. On days 4-7 after use, the rough skin on your feet will start to exfoliate actively. The process will continue for the next 3-5 days.
I wasn't prepared for two weeks of peeling skin, especially since it's summer and I'm mostly wearing open-toe shoes. I mean, who wants to deal with that kind of discomfort and awkwardness?
The packaging's already open, so there's no going back now.The foot mask doesn't look like your typical face mask - it's not floating in a serum, and it's sealed tight.
For opening, I'd recommend getting some scissors ready, rather than trying to hack at it with wet feet like some people do. Trust me, it's not worth the struggle.
Inside the 'nose' part, it's not just filled with liquid, but there's a fabric pad sewn in, soaked in a solution. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of harsh smell - it's definitely not like the 'liquid pumice' with that pungent ammonia.
Before putting on the mask, I cleaned my feet, then attached it with the adhesive clip (the one under the 'open' label). It's pretty secure, but I'd still be careful not to get any liquid on your clothes.
The attachment is quite secure – I spent an hour lying down and walking around the house, and nothing came loose or leaked.
I don't have severely cracked heels, so I figured an hour-long treatment would be enough. No deep cracks, no age spots, just a few calluses – and the skin on the soles is a bit thick, so I knew I'd need some extra TLC. Here's the 'before' photo.
So, after an hour, I removed the mask, and my skin was fine – no redness, no irritation. And, I have to say, I didn't feel any discomfort during the treatment.
After rinsing off the remaining solution, I waited for 4 days for the peeling to start (hoping it would peak on the weekend). But, things didn't go as planned. The peeling began on the second day and was pretty intense! I was shocked by how quickly the skin on my feet started to peel off in clumps, and my toes and the outer edges of my feet were getting all cracked. There was no itchiness or discomfort, but aesthetically, it was a total mess. I had to put my boots back on for a week, and it was 35 degrees outside, brrr. By the weekend, the peeling process had slowed down, but the state of my feet was still pretty grim. I ended up having to grab a pumice stone and manually remove the excess skin, just so I didn't have to wear sneakers for another week.
It was a really weird effect - the product seemed to only remove the dead skin that didn't need removing in the first place, but left the rougher patches untouched. Maybe I should've upped the treatment time to 90 minutes, but I figured that was for more severe cases, and 60 minutes was enough for someone who regularly uses foot files and keratolysers.
For me, the product was completely useless. Maybe the design of the toe separators could be changed so that the fabric pads soaked in the active ingredient are in direct contact with the soles of my feet, which clearly need more attention than the tops of my toes.
I didn't like the design, and the product failed to deliver where it needed to. The effect was completely baffling, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
