My Honest Review of the Greenini Hair Care Series - A Shampoo That Falls Short

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently tried the Greenini hair care series, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The citrus scent is overpowering, and it doesn't deliver on its promises of leaving my hair soft and shiny. The packaging looks sleek, but the product itself falls short. I'm still using it, but I'm not impressed. On the plus side, the shampoo does a great job of cleaning my hair, leaving it feeling fresh and clean. The bottle is a generous 500 ml, which is perfect for my needs. The price was reasonable, especially on sale for 159 rubles. However, the lack of moisture and the awkward texture are major drawbacks. I'd recommend exploring other options for a better hair care experience.

Hello everyone!
I recently stumbled upon the Greenini hair care series at a local store, and since it was on sale, I thought I'd give it a try. I picked up the shampoo-buster with the aldehyde and jojoba oil scents, as well as the wheat protein content. The citrus aroma really caught my attention - it's a bit overpowering, but I'm a fan of citrus scents.
Where I bought it: I picked up the Greenini hair care series at Magnit Extra.
Price on sale: I got it for 159 rubles.
Volume of the bottle: The bottle has a 500 ml volume.
First impressions and packaging
First off, the bottle has a sleek design, a nice color, and an interesting texture. The elongated shape really stands out. The label with the product name on the outside looks elegant, especially the shiny silver Greenini logo. The packaging has both Russian and English text, but overall, it's easy to understand.
I really like the design of the bottle and the label. They look solid and appealing. The back of the bottle has more information about the ingredients and their effects. It also lists the detailed composition, usage recommendations, and tips on how to combine it with other products from the same series. When I bought it, there was a balm-conditioner from the same series next to the shampoo, so I decided to try that out too.
What the manufacturer promises
The back of the bottle has a detailed description from the manufacturer. They emphasize the natural ingredients, which are supposed to repair damaged hair, give it a silky texture, and increase volume. My hair is damaged after bleaching, and I love volume, so I'm hoping this will work for me.
Breakdown of Ingredients
I appreciate how the manufacturer lists out all the components in the shampoo booster in detail. Here's the list from the bottle:
Aqua (Water); Sodium Coco-Sulfate* (from coconut oil); Coco-Glucoside (from coconut oil); Cocamidopropyl Betaine (from coconut oil); Polyquaternium-7; Cocamide DEA; Sodium Cocoamphoacetate (from coconut oil); Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer; Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract (orange extract); Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil (jojoba oil); Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein (wheat protein); Parfum; Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid; Methylchloroisothiazolinone; Methylisothiazolinone
Overall, I don't have any major complaints about the ingredients - it's pretty standard for a mid-range shampoo. Plus, there's a note that some of the natural ingredients meet COSMOS quality standards.
Manufacturer
It's clear that import substitution is working well in our country, so this product is the result of local developer AO "EFIT Cosmetics".
Shelf Life
The expiration date is listed on the bottle, along with a note to use the product within 12 months after opening.
My Impressions and Results
The shampoo has a decent consistency - not too runny, not too thick. It's a white color with a slightly sticky texture. Unfortunately, this shampoo doesn't lather well at all, and I didn't get the promised silky texture. It takes a decent amount of product to cover my medium-length hair.
After rinsing, I immediately know I need a conditioner. My hair feels rough to the touch, despite the manufacturer's claims of achieving a silky texture.
Applying conditioner does improve things, but I still needed to use hair oil before styling. Although this is just my personal preference, I use hair oil after every shampoo and conditioner.
I used a blow dryer to style my hair, but the volume just wasn't there. I thought it was okay... where were my silky, healthy-looking locks? Maybe I need to use it regularly to see the 'wow' effect. But my bottle of shampoo is almost empty, and the effect was pretty cool.
My Verdict
This shampoo is more suited for people with uncolored hair. If your hair's structure isn't damaged, the results might be different. I won't be buying it again unless it's on sale and I'm on a tight budget.
Pros: The packaging looks nice, the ingredients are standard for a mid-range shampoo, and the manufacturer lists out the components in detail.
Cons: The shampoo doesn't lather well, it doesn't give the promised silky texture, and it's not suitable for damaged hair.
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
Overall, I'd say this shampoo is a mixed bag. While it has some nice packaging and decent ingredients, it falls short in terms of performance. If you have uncolored hair and are looking for a mid-range shampoo, you might want to give it a try. But if you have damaged hair like me, you might want to look elsewhere.
