Eat My Color Balm

I'm hooked on this lip balm - it gives my lips a rich, long-lasting color that's ridiculously easy to apply and feels amazing on my chapped lips. No more dryness or flakiness for me!

My Honest Review of the Ultimate Shade Collection

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm totally obsessed with the Ultimate Shade Collection, and for good reason. With 10 different shades to choose from, this line offers a range of beautiful, vibrant colors that are perfect for adding a pop of color to your look. But what really sets this collection apart is its amazing texture and nourishing ingredients. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm so impressed with the build quality and battery life – the buttons feel solid, and it lasts longer than I expected. Plus, the ingredients are seriously impressive, with sweet almond oil helping to combat dryness and flakiness, and coconut oil bringing back the glow. It's worth every penny, in my opinion. The value for money is top-notch, and I've been using it daily without any issues. The ease of use is also a major plus – it glides on effortlessly, leaving my lips feeling smooth and hydrated.

I'm totally obsessed with eat my balm balms. There's something about them that just draws me in.
xa0
I've got a collection of around 10 different ones, not counting the various shades. And I'm a total sucker for multi-tasking products – you know, ones that offer both skincare and cosmetic benefits. So when I saw this line, I just had to have it all!
xa0
The whole rangeVolume: 4.8 gPrice: 228 roubles (17 May 2025, shop Podruga)Shelf life: 3 years / 9 monthsIt's got this amazing, soothing texture that glides on smoothly and evenly, leaving a comfortable, even finish – and the nourishing oils and waxes in the formula are gentle enough for sensitive skin. Plus, the ingredients are seriously impressive: • sweet almond oil helps combat dryness and flakiness, • coconut oil brings back the glow and elasticity, • castor oil calms and soothes, • jojoba oil prevents fine lines and wrinkles, • candelilla wax shields against dryness.xa0

I was also taken aback by the SLS at the end...
🍓Let's go through the shades in order: the most muted first, then the most vibrant 🫐
Strawberry-banana smoothie 🍌🍓
Strawberry banana
It's almost unnoticeable on my lips due to my tanned complexion. Since it's late spring ( I've already gotten a tan), the color doesn't look as contrasting as it would on me in the winter. Nevertheless, it will suit fair-skinned girls and those who like muted tones. And who cares about skin tone 😚
The scent is soft, creamy with hints of banana and strawberry. It's almost like ice cream! 🍨
Granny Smith apple juice 🍹 🍊
Citrus
Notice that this shade is applied unevenly
This semi-transparent reddish tone somehow makes my lips look rosier. Although there's no pink undertone whatsoever 😄 The aroma is for citrus lovers, it smells very strong. Good thing I like that! 😊
Guarana shake ⚡U0001fa77
Guarana EnergyI have to say, the exact shade of this color smells like... Guarana Energy 😄😄😄. I'm serious! Guarana is added to almost every brand's drinks, so it's no surprise that this color reminded me of a flash of energy U0001fae0🤟.
Honestly, this shade just didn't do it for me. It's too pastel and cool. I think this particular hue is far from being for everyone.
xa0
Strawberry-Raspberry Splash 🍒
xa0
Strawberry Raspberry (Med)This one tone is already a bit more interesting, a reddish-pink color. It's quite bright, which isn't for everyone either. It gives my skin a slight tint The scent is also quite intense. The strawberry smells really sweet at this color 😍
xa0
Smoothie Color 🍆 (I couldn't find a strawberry emoji, so I used a bell pepper instead)
xa0
Bell PepperThis one is my favorite!💜 My go-to lip color is even better and brighter. Based on what other people have said, it seems I'm not the only one who thinks so, so it's just as versatile as the strawberry-banana color. It's just a bit brighter than that one
xa0
Blueberry Splash 🫐 (I actually meant blackberry)
xa0
CranberryThe most vibrant and finicky (in my opinion) shade. It's a bit unevenly applied, and for bystanders, it's pretty obvious. The scent reminds me of berry caramels. I usually apply it alongside strawberry to achieve a more even color. It stains my lips more than any other.
xa0
My experience using it
xa0
Have you ever noticed that balms taste sweet? These are no exception 😋
I've found that all the tinted balms in this line are way thicker than the moisturizing ones. I'm used to needing just a couple of swipes to get a decent effect, but not with these. I also want to point out that their moisturizing properties are way weaker than the clear balms from the same brand. What's the reason behind that? Maybe it's just the texture? They're there, of course, but not as strong as their regular balms. Ugh, I was really hoping for the same.
xa0
One thing to keep in mind: if your lips are already well-hydrated and you apply this tinted balm, you'll get a comfortable, prolonged moisturizing effect. But if your lips are dry and you use it as a moisturizer, you'll be in for a really disappointing experience with no noticeable moisturizing effect.
From what I can tell, the formula just locks in moisture in your lips, preventing it from evaporating. That's all I can say about it.
The Verdict: I'm pretty satisfied with this lip balm range, but I'm only giving it 4 stars because of its lackluster moisturizing properties. It's not a full-fledged lipstick, but a balm with pigment that's supposed to hydrate my lips. I'm also giving it 4 stars because of the uneven color payoff in some of the shades.
On the plus side, I love the soothing scents across all the shades, the color palette, the natural ingredients, and the consistent gorgeous design 😚
xa0
I'm sure these drawbacks will be deal-breakers for some people. It all depends on your needs. For me, lip balms are a no-brainer because I'm already in the habit of taking care of my lips. They just don't make a significant difference – that's all 🤷
