Hello there!
I'm not a big fan of fabric masks, to be honest.
They only provide a temporary effect, but sometimes I just want to pamper myself, and it's great to see the results.
This time, I ordered some new fabric masks from Avon's catalog, which just came out a month ago, and I thought I'd give one a try.
Let's take a look first.
Avon Even Tone MaskBRAND - Avon, Russia.MANUFACTURING - China.
No surprise there, to be honest.
Now, almost all network cosmetics are made in China.
PRICE - 59 rubles at the time of purchase.
Normally, the mask costs 89 rubles.
PLACE OF PURCHASE - ordered on the company's website through the internet.
PACKAGING - the standard and familiar for fabric masks airtight small-sized package.
Avon Even Tone MaskINFORMATION on the back of the mask is written in Chinese characters, but there's a small sticker on top with the instructions in Russian, while the ingredients are listed in English.
Avon Even Tone MaskUNBOXING was a breeze, thanks to the handy notch on the side that lets you tear off the strip without needing scissors.
This made it easy to get to the mask inside.
Avon Even Tone MaskThe mask itself is folded up inside the package.I was surprised by how compact the packaging is - terry masks usually take up more space and are a bit bulkier.
Avon Even Tone MaskIt's easy to pull out the mask, but I did notice that it's incredibly wet - water was literally dripping off it and onto the floor as I handled it.I've not seen this level of moisture with other masks like this before.
Next time, I might give the package a bit of a squeeze to get rid of some of that excess moisture.
Avon Even Tone MaskEMULSIFYING CREAM is completely transparent and super runny - it's almost like water. There's plenty of it on the mask, as I mentioned earlier.
Avon Even Tone Mask I was left with a bit of the emulsion in the package, which I'll get to later. There's not as much emulsion left as I'm used to.
Avon Even Tone Mask The scent is pleasant, slightly sweet and floral, but not overpowering.
I'd say it smells stronger when you first open the pack, but during use, it's pretty neutral.
To be honest, I was expecting a rose scent, but I must have gotten it confused with a previous series of masks that had a rose design on them.
My experience with the Avon Even Tone Mask and my personal thoughts
My skin: I've got mature, porous skin with subtle expression lines (they're more noticeable when I smile, of course).
I've started to notice a nasolabial fold.
Lately, my skin has been feeling dry, with occasional flakiness, but nothing too severe.
Age: 35.
Avon Even Tone Mask Applying the mask: this is where things got a bit tricky for me...The mask turned out to be really thin and it was a bit of a struggle to unfold it evenly.
I was worried I'd end up tearing it before I could get it on.
It took me a while to get it sorted out, to be honest.
Face Mask Shape was spot on for me - not too big, not too small.
It fit my face perfectly, with cutouts for my eyes, mouth, and nose all lining up nicely.
However, it didn't sit perfectly on every part of my face.
For some reason, one side went on smoothly, while the other side had a bit of a bubble.
Avon Face Mask - Smooth ToneAfter fiddling with it for about 3 minutes, I finally got it to sit right.
Avon Face Mask - Smooth ToneI also noticed that the mask didn't quite touch my skin under my eyes, near my nose - a really important area for me.So, I used some scissors to trim it to size, and that sorted the problem out.
Avon Face Mask - Smooth ToneSimilarly, I trimmed the crease on my forehead and the fold on my cheek.
All in all, I managed to customize the mask to fit my face perfectly, making it super comfortable to wear.
Avon Face Mask - Even ToneOne thing that would've made this mask even better is the inclusion of eye cut-outs, but they're not here. For me, it's always a preference to have two layers of fabric under the eyes, as that's an area I struggle with personally.
After smoothing out the mask, I applied a bit more serum from the packet on top with my fingers.
It wasn't a lot, but I wanted to give my dry skin a bit more moisture.
I left the mask on my face for 15 minutes.
In that time, I applied the remaining serum to my neck and décolletage, gently massaging it in with my palms, and also smoothed it onto the outside of my hands.

My experience during use: the fabric is incredibly soft, gentle, and comfortable, and at first, the mask felt cold, which caused some discomfort, but it warmed up quickly.
The mask stayed in place for the full 15 minutes, didn't dry out (which is a must), and felt normal on my skin, to the point where I didn't even want to take it off, but I knew I couldn't keep it on any longer.
The serum that's infused into the mask is amazing – it's completely non-sticky.

After removing the maskthere are some minor impressions on my skin for the first couple of minutes, but I don't pay much attention to that, and they disappear after a while.
My face is still pretty damp.
I gently massage in the remaining serum with my fingers until it's fully absorbed.
Avon Even Tone MaskI've got to say, the journey with the Avon Even Tone Mask isn't over yet.
There's still a lot of serum left in it, and when I fold it in half, I apply it to my neck for another 15 minutes.
Avon Even Tone MaskTHE RESULT.
My skin feels silky smooth, hydrated, and supple after using this mask!
The fine lines are smoothed out, and my skin tone has genuinely become a lot more even and healthy-looking, just like the manufacturer promised.
There's not a single hint of flakiness left, and my skin looks amazing from the outside – it's a joy to touch. If I had dryness or even some tightness before, this mask has completely turned things around, making me feel like I've gained a few years back (in a good way, of course!).
Avon Even Tone MaskAll the photos are in 3x format, so you can see all the pores clearly.I wanted to show you the result as clearly as possible.
Especially noticeable is the difference on my forehead, where the fine lines were more prominent before.
It seems like this mask has even made my pores less noticeable, and overall, I'm really happy with the result!
Avon Even Tone Mask I just recently learned that you're supposed to rinse this mask off, which I've never done before! But this time when I took the mask off my neck, I went ahead and wiped my face and neck with a warm washcloth and applied a moisturizer (although all the photos are without moisturizer, just after the mask).
Avon Even Tone Mask The key difference between cotton masks and regular ones is:
It's the fact that the nourishing serum underneath doesn't come into contact with the air, doesn't oxidize, and doesn't evaporate.
In other words, this masks works like a greenhouse, and your skin gets hydration all over.
I also know that your skin underneath the mask doesn't have access to oxygen and, kind of suffocating, actively absorbs the good stuff from the emulsion that the cotton is soaked in.
That's why I wouldn't use these kinds of masks too frequently.
► Of course, I completely understand that the amazing visible results from using cotton masks and patches are only achieved because of the "puffing up" of the skin, its hydration in the moment, like after a bath, and then it quickly returns to its natural state.
And it's impossible for any cosmetic product to turn back the clock 10 years, no matter the price.
But it's still nice to have a transformation like this, especially when you have an important event coming up.
Verdict.
I'm really happy with how the Even Tone Mask from Avon performs - it's one of the most pleasant fabric masks I've tried (especially considering how tricky it is to unfold).
Of course, I highly recommend giving it a shot!
Just know how these types of masks work and don't expect miracles in terms of long-term results.
