A Sweet Obsession: Toffifee Candies Review
I'm not a fan of Raffaello, but I'm absolutely hooked on Toffifee!
These beautiful, delicious candies are perfect for gifting or enjoying on your own - and with a price that won't break the bank, it's a win-win.
I'm a bit late to the party, but I only tried Toffifee a couple of months ago, and now I'm obsessed!
Value for money - a generous promotion.
Right now, they're on sale at Magnit for an unbeatable 179 rubles, so I'm stocking up in packs of 5.
This is an incredibly pleasant and actually very low price, considering they usually cost around 450-550 rubles depending on the store.
So, if you love these candies, I'd recommend checking out Magnit for the best deal.
Description.
Toffifee candies are a delicate treat made from a whole nut, caramel, and creamy nougat, topped with dark chocolate.
They have a distinct nutty aroma and a creamy flavor that's perfect for snacking or sharing with friends.
One pack is enough for a group of 3-4 people, making them a great choice for parties or gatherings.
Visuals.
The candies come in a beautiful cardboard box with a vibrant design that creates a cozy home atmosphere and gives a festive vibe.
Looking a bit closer, these chocolates look pretty appetizing, and they've got a pretty unique shape that sets them apart from other candies.
The box itself is beautiful from all sides - it's a real head-turner that's sure to impress.
White with gold - it's a classic look that screams 'special occasion.'
Getting the chocolates out of the packaging is a breeze - just give the golden ribbon a little tug and you're good to go!
Now, let's take a look at the back.
The back of the package has all the important info, from ingredients to manufacturer details, and even translations in multiple languages.
Here's where you'll find the expiration date and production info, as well as a list of ingredients.
What's inside?
So, let's open up these Toffifee chocolates!
Snip off the cardboard wrapping...
I have to say, the packaging is pretty sweet, but unfortunately, my chocolates did melt a bit, and I stupidly left them near a heat source.
Tug on the golden string...
And enjoy the beautiful view.
The golden base is pretty sturdy, it doesn't bend like paper, and it looks really nice and festive.
Let me show you up close...
The Toffifee chocolates are made with high-quality ingredients, and you can tell by the look and feel of the packaging.
Toffifee Chocolate Ingredients.
Here's a photo, and I'll duplicate it in the quote below.
The ingredients include sugar, plant-based fats, whole forest nuts, glucose syrup, dehydrated buttermilk, moisture-retaining agent, chocolate, condensed skimmed milk, concentrated dehydrated buttermilk, lactose, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, milk fat, skimmed milk powder, sugar cane syrup, emulsifier, salt, food-grade salt, and flavoring.
I appreciate that the ingredients are transparent - it seems like they're not hiding anything.
Some good ingredients that stand out to me are shea, whole forest nuts, chocolate, cocoa powder, and cocoa butter.
As for the ingredients I'm not too fond of, I'd like to see palm oil replaced with something like flaxseed oil or sesame oil.
Personal experience eating the candies.
Sensory characteristics.
Color - the candies are pretty, all shades of brown: caramel, dark chocolate, and brown nougat.
Smell - I love how Toffifee candies smell: it's a mix of soft caramel, chocolate, with a lot of natural cocoa, and, of course, the main thing that catches my sensitive nose - the nutty aroma of forest nuts.
It smells pretty strong, but not overpowering.
Taste - mmm, it's really delicious!
I buy Toffifee candies in bulk at Magnit while they're on sale, and I stock up - both for myself and as gifts.
You can really taste the soft, not cloying, just-right-sweet caramel. It's got a nice, tugging quality to it.
The nougat is soft and has a nice, oily texture in a good way. It's not greasy, just rich from the natural cocoa butter. It's not too sweet.
The chocolate is pretty good too.
I've had my fair share of nuts, but some are definitely better than others. But, I've gotta say, these Toffifee nuts are a cut above the rest. No bad ones, no 'off' flavors - just pure awesomeness.
One thing that really stands out to me is that the palm oil is barely noticeable. None of that cheap, artificial taste you get with some other brands.
I love that there's a variety of flavors in each nut. They all work together seamlessly, and it's a match made in heaven.
So, what's inside Toffifee nuts?
Let me tell you, you can enjoy them two ways.
And I love both ways, to be honest.
1. Soft and melty.
When they're soft, the chocolate and caramel flavors really come through. It's a game-changer.
Just pop them in the fridge for a bit, and then enjoy. The flavors will last longer, and you'll get to savor the experience even more.
Check out how I chopped them up a bit - the main nut stayed inside, but it's still delicious!
The nitty-gritty.
Another plus is that the nuts are soft and don't stick to your teeth, even with the caramel. That's a win in my book! They're soft, but the nut inside is still crunchy - it's a nice balance. These nuts aren't too sweet, either. They're perfectly balanced, and you won't feel the need to reach for a drink to wash it down. They look great, too. They'd make a fantastic gift. You can tell they're made with quality ingredients - that's the German touch, I reckon. What to drink with Toffifee nuts?
They pair well with tea, coffee, and even chicory. Really, any warm, comforting drink will do.
I love brewing a strong black Ceylon tea, and I also like adding a tea pyramid to my cup. It's a game-changer - the flavors come alive, and it's a real treat.
