Hello everyone, today I'm going to share my disappointing experience with a toner that promised to hydrate my skin.
As someone who's always on the lookout for new skincare products, I thought I'd give this toner a try, but unfortunately, it's been a huge letdown.
I've never used toners before, and I'm still not sure if they're a good thing or a bad thing - maybe it's just a product that doesn't belong on my shelf.
But before I dive into my review, let me explain what a toner is.
A toner is a product that's meant to restore your skin's pH balance. It's supposed to help keep your skin hydrated throughout the day.
It's a good thing if it works, but if it doesn't, then it's all just a waste!
When I bought this toner, I didn't choose a specific brand - I didn't have any preferences at the time.
As usual, I went to the store to buy enzyme powder, which I use all the time - I've actually reviewed it here.
And I saw this toner right next to it, so I decided to give it a try - Sendo's enzyme powder is a great product, maybe this toner is too!
The toner looks like this

First impressions are everything, and this product definitely caught my eye. The packaging design is so on-trend, it's like a mini Korean skincare explosion! I'd even say it reminds me of Korean beauty products. The label features a happy kitty and some Chinese characters - it's clear the manufacturer is going all out on marketing, design, and aesthetics. I think they might be trying to create a line of products that screams 'Korean skincare' because it's been super popular for years. And whenever you hear about Korean skincare, you immediately think of something amazing. There's a grain of truth to that, but also a lot of stereotypes.
The toner itself is a pale blue color, super liquidy like water.
The one thing that really puts me off is the smell. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it reminds me of medical equipment. This is a super subjective association for me, but I don't know how else to put it.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Leaves Extract, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, D-Panthenol, Lactic Acid, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol, CI 42090
Storage Conditions:
Store in a temperature range of 5°C to 25°C. Keep out of reach of children and avoid direct sunlight.
After using this product for a while, I noticed the importance of proper storage. It's not just about tossing it in a cabinet.
Precautions:
For external use only
Avoid getting it in your eyes
Don't use it for food
Individuals may experience sensitivity
Don't apply to irritated or damaged skin
I have to admit, I was a bit worried about using this product, especially with my sensitive skin.
Manufacturer's Claims:
Tonizes, hydrates, and refreshes the skin, reduces the feeling of tightness, and prepares it for further care. Hyaluronic acid and panthenol hydrate the skin and protect it from moisture loss.
Aloe extract enhances the moisturizing effect, has antioxidant and regenerative properties.
Laminaria extract smoothes and tightens the skin, increasing its elasticity.
As I continued to use the product, I noticed the benefits of the ingredients, especially the aloe extract.
Usage:
Apply a small amount of toner to a cotton pad and gently wipe your clean face with light strokes. Use it morning and night!
After a while, I started to see the results of using the toner. My skin felt smoother, and I noticed a reduction in tightness.
Results and Impression:
I've been using this toner for a long time now, over six months, and it's become a staple in my skincare routine. I don't use it every day, but when I do, I notice a difference.
As usual, I get excited about new products, but this one has really delivered.
I've been using this product for about a week, and I've noticed that things have taken a turn for the worse. I've stopped using it, stashing it away in a dark closet. But then, after a while, I start using it again, only to get frustrated and quit all over. That's because the reaction my skin has to this product is super unpredictable.
What I've observed is that when I use the toner, my skin starts to resemble orange peel. The texture becomes uneven, kind of saggy and bumpy, and I get more breakouts. My pores become so noticeable that it freaks me out.
Even applying moisturizer before makeup doesn't help. The whole tone thing gets lost in those pores, and I've been using the same brand for years. Their products have always worked for me.
I've been fortunate enough to not deal with skin issues for a long time. If I get one or two pimples, they usually clear up within 3-5 days. But with this toner, something's off, and my skin just can't handle it. Maybe this product isn't for me, or maybe it's the PEG in the ingredients that's causing the issue.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with this toner. It's done nothing to help my skin, and it's actually made it worse, turning it into orange peel.
After a week of not using the toner, my skin goes back to its normal state.
Before and after using the toner.
Honestly, I can only say that I'm done with this product. It's had a really negative impact on my skin.
I wouldn't recommend buying it - it's just a weird product with some kind of weird effect on my skin.
Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to read my review.
