I've been curious about Sendo cosmetics from Fix Price, but I'd never actually tried any of them. That was until I spotted the Tonik for Face Sendo Balancing with Mattifying Accumulative Effect in my last Fix visit.
Maybe I've been overpaying for pricier toners, so I decided it was time to give this one a go.
Today, I want to share my thoughts on whether it's worth the buy.
Main Details:
Brand: SendoManufacturer: Russia, TatarstanPurpose: face tonerVolume: 250 mlPlace of Purchase: Fix Price storePrice: 79 rubles
Packaging: The toner comes in a long, cylindrical bottle wrapped in a label with an Eastern flair, but it's made in Russia.
The reverse side has tons of info from the manufacturer, including product description, ingredients, usage, and more.
Lid: The plastic lid is white, opens easily with my thumb, and closes tightly with a characteristic click. It's not sticky.
Dropper: The toner flows smoothly through a small hole, and I can control the flow easily.
What the manufacturer says: Their promises sound pretty enticing.
Shelf life: The toner has a shelf life of 24 months, but it drops to 6 months once you open it. The manufacturing date is printed at the bottom of the label.
Ingredients: The list includes Water (Aqua), Niacinamide, Menhta piperita extract, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylchloroisothiazolone, Methylisothiazolone, Linalool, Cl 42090, Cl 19140.
For the price point, the ingredients are pretty standard, but I do appreciate the presence of niacinamide and peppermint extract.
Color: When I look at the bottle, it seems like the toner has a hint of minty color to it. But when I apply it to my skin or a cotton pad, it's completely transparent.
Scent: The fragrance is pretty subtle, mostly just a light peppermint scent with a hint of citrus.
Consistency: It's super watery, no stickiness at all.
Usage: I use this toner as a second step in my skincare routine after washing my face. I soak a cotton pad with the toner and then gently wipe my face.
I use a lot of cotton pads to make sure my skin is completely clean after using a facial cleanser.
I store the toner in the fridge because I find that it helps me wake up in the morning, but that's not necessary.
Results: I didn't expect any amazing results from a toner that costs just 79 rubles, but it did surprise me.
Based on the manufacturer's claims, I'll be judging it on the following points: does it clean the skin, does it matte, does it moisturize, does it shrink pores, and does it reduce redness.
Does it clean the skin? Yes, it does. Occasionally, the cotton pad gets a bit dirty, but I guess I missed some spots with the cleanser.
Does it matte? Yes, it does. The greasy shine does go away, but I wouldn't call it a cumulative effect.
Does it moisturize? No, it doesn't. In fact, it dries out my skin, which is a plus for me since my skin is oily, especially in the summer.
Does it shrink pores? No, it doesn't. I didn't see any changes in that regard.
Does it reduce redness? Yes, it does. I get occasional minor breakouts, and the toner does a great job soothing them and drying out the pimples.
Conclusion: All things considered, I'd say this product is decent. It does what it's supposed to do, but not more. My skin likes it, so I'd recommend it.
