The Governess: Hotel of Lost Souls Book 1 by Milena Zavojčinskaya

I just finished reading The Governess, and I'm still reeling from the experience. This book is the first in Milena Zavojčinskaya's Hotel of Lost Souls series, and it's a real game-changer. The story dives deep into the complexities of human relationships, forcing you to confront the darker aspects of yourself and the world around you. It's a wild ride, but trust me, it's worth it.

Hello everyone!
I'm so glad you're here, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on Milena Zavoychin's novel, The Lost Souls Hotel.
I first heard about this book from one of my favorite authors, Anna Vatsekhovskaya, on Irecommend. But I didn't rush to read it right away. I knew it was the first part of a duology, and I didn't want to start without finishing the second part. So, I waited, and when the second book came out, I devoured it in one sitting!
I didn't want to write separate reviews for each book in the duology, but I'll make an exception for this one. The first part is essentially a setup for the main story, and I found it engaging, but not as captivating as the second part.
Let's get started!
The Lost Souls Hotel is a mystical place that needs a capable manager. And that's where our protagonist, Agata Serебрякова, comes in. No experience, no magical powers, and no desire to get involved in shady dealings – but she's the perfect candidate for the job.
As I started reading, I realized that this book is not just about a hotel for lost souls. It's about the human experience – our struggles, our fears, and our hopes. It's about finding help and support when we need it most.
The author, Milena Zavoychin, has done an amazing job of creating a world that's both magical and realistic. The characters are well-developed, and their stories are relatable and engaging.
One of the things that I loved about this book is the way it tackles difficult topics like depression and emotional burnout. It's not always easy to read about these issues, but the author handles them with sensitivity and care.
The main character, Agata, is a wonderful protagonist. She's kind, compassionate, and strong – but not in a way that's unrealistic or unrelatable. She's a true hero, and her story is inspiring and uplifting.
Of course, no book is perfect, and I did find some things that didn't quite work for me. The main characters are often similar – a typical Mary Sue type. She gets into trouble, and then suddenly, people start offering her help and advice (thanks to the universe and her fans). It's not just about looking good (although, she does have beautiful eyes); it's about having a pure heart and a clear conscience. But, to be honest, it's started to feel a bit repetitive.
Despite this, I wholeheartedly recommend The Lost Souls Hotel. It's a wonderful book that will make you laugh, cry, and think. It's a story about hope, resilience, and the human spirit. And it's a reminder that we're not alone – that there are people out there who care, who listen, and who want to help.
So, if you're looking for a book that will touch your heart and inspire your soul, then The Lost Souls Hotel is the perfect choice. And don't forget to read the second part of the story – it's just as amazing as the first!
