I'm a big fan of the elderly, and I love how they're getting more attention in movies lately.
So, when I heard about 'The Lodge', I was pretty curious, despite some reservations about Pete Davidson in the lead role.

So, what did I think of 'The Lodge'?
Well, let's just say it's a wild ride. The film starts off with a bang, but it quickly becomes clear that something's off. The camera lingers on the unpleasant aspects of old age with a kind of morbid fascination - zooming in on ulcers, rotting teeth, and sagging skin.
And then there are the sex scenes between old people. Let's just say they're disturbing and even insulting. The film gives you a strong feeling that, lacking deep ideas, the director decided to bet on cheap shock to draw attention to their horror movie at any cost.

'The Lodge' is a wild card that keeps its best trick up its sleeve until the very end.
It's got both daring originality and a complete lack of shame.
Whether or not it's worth slogging through the whole thing just for the genius ending is debatable, but it's definitely not a waste of time.
