A Hidden Gem of a Tattoo Studio Near the First City Hospital

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently visited The Last Ritual tattoo studio, which is just a short walk from the First City Hospital. The studio's atmosphere is super cozy and inviting, with comfy couches scattered throughout. The vibe is pretty cool, with crosses, symbols, and a wreath on the door. I was a bit skeptical about the website, but the studio works by appointment, just like any other. The staff is professional and welcoming, making the experience feel more like a visit to a friend's place than a tattoo studio. They've got plenty of space, and the bar in the first room is a nice touch, even if I didn't get to try it out.

I recently had the chance to check out The Last Ritual tattoo studio, which is located on Gagarin Prospect 23/10. It's just a short hop off at the First City Hospital stop. Their website might not be the most impressive, but don't worry – they work by appointment like any other studio.
The studio's got a pretty cool vibe going on: think crosses, symbols, handprints, and a wreath on the door (which looked suspiciously like a New Year's decoration, considering I visited in March).
The studio's got plenty of space, with comfy couches scattered throughout. When I was there, there were four other clients and several empty seats. They also have a bar in the first room, but I didn't try it since I wasn't planning on drinking before or during the session.
For those who are still deciding on a design, they have a ton of pre-made sketches to choose from. It's a great way to get inspiration and see what kind of style you're looking for – plus, it's a good conversation starter.
Meet the studio's mascot – a pretty chill cat that blends in with the background. They make sure she doesn't get in the way by not allowing her on the couches, and if she does sneak in, they sanitize the surface.
Before each session, they wrap the couches and handrests in plastic and give them a good disinfecting. They also use disposable needles and other supplies to ensure everything is super clean – I was impressed by how seriously they take hygiene.
I went for a relatively small design for my first tattoo, and the artist did a great job, considering it was his first time working with me. He reworked my sketch and created a beautiful old-school-style bird. Unfortunately, the letters didn't quite turn out as planned – I was hoping for a Marquiz de Sad font, but it looked more like a child's scribble.
Since I couldn't post a screenshot with the font, you can search for it online and compare it with the result – it's pretty easy to spot the difference. Despite the minor mishap, the artist is still improving, and I'm sure he'll get the hang of it. The girl working next to me was creating a realistic forest scene, complete with colorful animals – it was actually really cool to watch.
I was a bit nervous about the pain, but it was pretty minimal, and the session lasted about three hours. I chose to heal it openly, but they do offer a bandage for those who prefer it. The artist gave me all the aftercare instructions, and it healed quickly, although it did leave a lot of scabbing at first. And, of course, it itched when the scabs formed. Considering it's a small design and the artist is still learning, the price was 3200 rubles – which I thought was pretty reasonable.
