Why Telyakovskiy Bay Won My Heart - A Hidden Gem in Primorye

summarizeEditor's Summary

Telyakovskiy Bay is a real gem in Primorye, Russia. I'm still reeling from the experience of visiting this hidden spot. The journey was no easy feat, but it was totally worth it. Located in the Tumanny Bay area of the Khasansky District, this place is a must-visit for any nature lover. My husband organized the trip, and I'm so glad he did – it took a lot of effort to get here, especially since the road is pretty rough. We could've gone with a guided tour, but we wanted to keep things low-key and enjoy some peace and quiet. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, with towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters. It's the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and connect with nature.

Hello everyone!
I've been dreaming of visiting Telyakovskiy Bay for ages, and it's finally happened. Located in the Tumanny Bay area of the Khasansky District in Primorsky Krai, this place is truly one-of-a-kind. The photos I've seen just blew me away, but let me tell you, it wasn't an easy journey.
The road to get here is no joke, and the bay is a decent distance from Vladivostok. My husband deserves a huge thank you for organizing the trip – it took a lot of effort to get here, especially since the road is pretty rough.
So, how do you even get to Telyakovskiy Bay?
If you've got a 4x4, you can drive to Andreyevka, then to Vitiaz', and finally to the quarry. From there, the road to the bay is pretty bad, so be super careful.
That's exactly the route we took.
We could've gone with a guided tour, but we wanted to keep things low-key and enjoy some peace and quiet. Plus, we were camping overnight, so it was all about roughing it.
The bay itself is pretty small, and there aren't many people around. It's super peaceful and quiet, with a lovely atmosphere. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's a protected area, so you can't even park your car near the shore. And just nearby is the Land of the Leopard nature reserve.
So, it's a pretty wild and secluded spot.
The bay itself is all rocky, with tons of huge boulders scattered around.
Telyakovskiy Bay
Telyakovskiy BayWe pitched our tent right by the water's edge, and before long we were out exploring the area. To get to the left side of the bay, we had to navigate over a pile of big rocks. The left side is rockier, but the views are stunning – you can see the bay and the sea through the hills.
Telyakovskiy BayThe right side of the bay is the most appealing to tourists, and when we climbed up there, we met a few groups of people who were taking in the views.
Getting to Telyakovskiy BayIt's no wonder they call this place the Maldives of the coast – the water is an unreal color.
Telyakovskiy BayThis is where you can see nature in all its untouched glory.
Telyakovskiy Bay ReviewsThere are tons of pine trees growing here, with massive, impressive trunks that cover the surface of the hill.

Getting to Telyakovsky Bay
Telyakovsky Bay
Telyakovsky BayWe noticed a wild bay right next to us, where some thrill-seekers even hike down to, thanks to the special cables installed for safety.
Where is Telyakovsky Bay located
Getting to Telyakovsky BayJust nearby is the Tomitself Heart Island. To get there, you need to hike down from the hill and cross the isthmus. It's not very big and is also covered in the famous "Mourning Pines" trees, which are listed in the Red Book. The island got its name from a heart-shaped stone boulder in one of the grottos. When the waves hit it, the stone makes sounds that resemble a heartbeat.
Getting to Telyakovsky BayWe spent two days and one night in this bay, and I have to say, the sea was incredibly clean. We could snorkel with a mask and collect scallops without any issues. When we visited in June, the water was still a bit cool, but my husband enjoyed swimming, while I only got my feet wet.
Nature here is absolutely stunning, and I loved how secluded it is – hardly any people around, and it's spotlessly clean, with a real wilderness feel.
Relaxing here was a total treat, and I was genuinely sad to leave. I loved camping and waking up to a sunrise with a cup of coffee, taking in the breathtaking scenery and crystal-clear sea.
Bay of Telyakovsky reviewsI know it's not an easy place to get to, but trust me, it's worth the effort – I'll always treasure the memories of this place in my heart!
Thanks for reading!
