Is 'Sweet Life' on TNT Worth Watching? My Honest Verdict After Binge-Watching All Seasons

summarizeEditor's Summary

I dove headfirst into 'Sweet Life' on TNT after reading over 100 comments in the series thread, and what I found was a wild ride with a lot of passion, sex, and living life to the fullest. While the first season was way better than the second, I'm hooked – and I'm still reeling from the finale. If you're looking for a drama series that'll keep you on the edge of your seat, 'Sweet Life' might be just what you need. However, be warned: the show's not afraid to push boundaries, and some scenes might leave you feeling uncomfortable. The show's themes of passion and living life to the fullest are compelling, but they can also feel overwhelming or clichéd at times. Overall, I'd say 'Sweet Life' is a show that's definitely worth watching, but it's not for the faint of heart.

I've been using the Omnia 5000 for a week now, and I'm still getting used to its size. At first, I thought it was a bit too big for my hands, but after a few days, it started to feel more comfortable. The Omnia 5000 has a lot of features, but I'm going to focus on the ones that matter most to me.
"Sweet Life" TNT series "Sweet Life" 3 seasons - the final episode is on TNT from May 23rd. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, but over 100 comments in the series thread had me curious. I binge-watched the first two seasons in just two days, and now I'm hooked. "Sweet Life" TNT series The first season of "Sweet Life" is way better than the second. Don't even get me started. The first season was all about passion, sex, and living life to the fullest. It was a wild ride, with twists and turns in every episode. The second season, on the other hand, was a total downer. No sex, no money, just problems and drama. The plot got all convoluted, and the intrigue was gone. I'm convinced that the third season of "Sweet Life" is pointless, since the second season ruined all the good stuff from the beginning. I think the show's creators were going for a shock factor with all the explicit content, but it worked for a while. It was interesting to see how the wealthy and poor worlds collided, and how unhealthy relationships were formed. But in the second season, it all just felt so predictable and boring. The contrast between the rich and poor was gone, and the characters just blended in with the crowd.
Seriously, I'm worried that the final episodes won't go back to the good stuff from the start, but instead make things worse. The first season of the third series only confirmed my fears.
"Sweet Life" TNT seriesIf there are people out there like me who haven't watched the series "Sweet Life", I'll give a brief rundown of the seasons so you know what to expect.
::: 1 SEASON :::
The first season has six episodes, each around 40-45 minutes long. Some people are running around between guys and hiding in Moscow from the scary Permians (Sasha), while others are trying to get everything out of life and more (Lera). The guys are actively, but not very successfully, doing this stuff (Igor, Vadim, Mark). The girls don't care about sex unless it's with love (Sasha), or they're doing it just for the thrill (Yulia) / to get money (Lera) / to keep their husbands (Natacha). Everyone's pretty fat, relatively wealthy, and half-happy. They mostly communicate over the phone and via text messages.
Characters / actors of the 1st season
"Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Marta Nosova as SashaSasha (played by Marta Nosova) - was forced to move to Moscow from Perm, where she worked as a dancer and stripper in nightclubs. She's closed off, keeps everything to herself, and doesn't spread negativity, even when it's hard. She doesn't complain about life. She once tried to get into the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. She's a bit of a mess and can't take care of herself. She attracts guys with her overt unavailability and mysteriousness. "Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Lukerya Ilyashenko as LeraLera (played by Lukerya Ilyashenko) - a woman from Perm who's got lucky with a wealthy sugar daddy and now lives the high life. She claims to only date for love, but her path to success is pretty much paved with, ahem, "business" opportunities. When she's not busy being a kept woman, she moonlights as a yoga instructor. Don't let her tough exterior fool you - she's got a soft spot for romance and isn't afraid to show it. Her go-to catchphrase? "Wow!" "Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Roman Mayakin as VadikVadik (played by Roman Mayakin) - your typical Russian macho guy who's got a thing for the ladies and a penchant for getting into trouble. He's a high-rolling businessman with a wife and kids, but don't let that fool you - he's still got a wild streak a mile wide. When he's not busy making deals and getting into scrapes, he's probably out looking for his next "business opportunity". "Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Maria Shumakova as NatashaNatasha (played by Maria Shumakova) - Vadik's wife and the ultimate drama queen. She's got a bad case of insecurity and a penchant for getting jealous, but deep down she's just a big softie. When she's not busy worrying about her husband's infidelities, she's probably out shopping for the latest designer duds or sipping champagne with the girls."Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Nikita Panfilov as IgorIgor (played by Nikita Panfilov) is the owner of a nightclub, constantly switching between women and paying for sex. He's sarcastic, and for some reason, he's also into real estate. He's Vasily's best friend, and he has issues with alcohol. His go-to phrase is "sdrisni".
"Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Anastasia Myskova as YuliaYulia (played by Anastasia Myskova) is Natasha's friend, the daughter of wealthy parents. She doesn't work and is trying to get pregnant before her wedding.
"Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Anton Denisenco as MarkMark (played by Anton Denisenco) is the manager of a shopping center, Yulia's fiancé. He's struggling with erectile dysfunction and has issues with alcohol.
"Sweet Life" TNT series 1 season | Eduard Matsaberidze as TigranTigran (played by Eduard Matsaberidze) - a former quiet guy, plastic surgeon, and YuLi's ex. His career owes a lot to his father. He's still got feelings for YuLi and is willing to fight for her.
"Sweet Life" TNT series::: 2 Seasons :::
Season 2 has 8 episodes, each around 40-45 minutes long. Times are tough, and everyone's lost weight. Sex has become a rarity for guys, and kids are nowhere to be seen. The show's trying to tackle some deeper issues, but it's still all about the drama and relationships. Some characters are trying to figure themselves out (Mark, Natasha, Sasha), while others are drowning in their own problems (Lera, Vadim). Sasha's into some weird dance moves, the Maximovs are open about their relationships, and Igor's struggling with his business. As always, no one's working, but everyone's got money and loads of free time. Communication's gone online, and each episode starts with a quick recap of what happened in the previous one.
2nd Season Characters / Actors
"Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Marta Nosova as SashaSasha (played by Marta Nosova) is trying to get her life together in Moscow so she can move her daughter. She's unfairly jealous of Igor. Wants to open a dance school and is looking for investors to back the project. Past mistakes are still haunting her. She's trying to be genuine and speak the truth, but it's not always coming out right. "Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Nikita Panfilov as IgorIgor (played by Nikita Panfilov) is starting to have problems with his business that he's hiding from Sasha. He's become more serious, but he's still putting people to the test. "Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Anatoly Gorichev as Uncle TolyaUncle Tolya (played by actor Anatoly Gorichev) - Mark's uncle, a retired MVD general. He's involved in distributing government property. At first glance, he seems like a simple and naive old man, but in the end, he knows how to take control and get what he wants. "Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Roman Mayakin as VadyaVadya (played by actor Roman Mayakin) - he starts getting jealous of his wife, who agreed to "open relationships". Now they've switched roles: he's going crazy and spying on her, while she's just relaxed about it. "Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Maria Shumakova as NatashaNatasha (played by Maria Shumakova) finally starts to see herself as a sexually attractive woman, rather than just a chubby cow. To keep her mind from going crazy in those endless mansion walls, she starts using a dating website, agrees to a scam with a dance school, and who knows what else.
"Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Anastasia Mesykova as YuliaYulia (played by Anastasia Mesykova) is basically invisible for the entire second season, popping up only at the very beginning and end. Her complex character remains the same.
"Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Eduard Matsaberidze as TigranTigran (played by Eduard Matsaberidze) starts to look around for someone when his wife is away, being the proper Armenian gentleman that he is. "Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Anton Denisenco as MarkMark (played by Anton Denisenco) - it's tough for him to adjust to a new life with an Armenian family, especially after losing his wealthy lifestyle. For now, he's crashing at his uncle's place. As he tries to figure out his messy situation, he starts to realize his attraction to the male sex.
"Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Daniil Dunayev as RomanRoman (played by Daniil Dunayev) - this guy's on the hunt for superpowers, and he's got a thing for cute, bearded men. He's a divorced gay man and Mark's boss.
"Sweet Life" TNT series 2nd season | Sergey Yushkevich as SergeySergey (played by Sergey Yushkevich) - he's a manual therapist and a giver of female orgasms, whom Natasha met online. "Sweet Life" TNT series 2 season | Darya Belyusova as Misha Misha (played by Darya Belyusova) - a former classmate of Vadim and Igor, their old acquaintance. She was married to a powerful person, ran a dairy factory. She's in love with Igor and willing to do anything for him. "Sweet Life" TNT series ::: 3 SEASONS :::
With 7 episodes, each around 40-45 minutes long. The clouds are darkening, problems are getting worse. Sweet Life is serving up a bitter taste. No kids are in the picture. Instagram makes an appearance on screen. Amidst the stress, everyone's still lost weight. Half of the characters from previous seasons got written off in the first few episodes and were never mentioned again. The remaining characters didn't mention the ones who were written off either. The showrunners explained in an interview that they decided to go for a tragicomedy tone in the third season. In reality, they just couldn't come up with anything original and took the easy route - they stretched what could have fit into one episode into seven, and then tacked on a final scene that basically happens a year later. The ending was very generic and TNT-esque.
Characters/actors in season 3
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Marta Nosova as SashaSasha (played by Marta Nosova) - she's no longer the main character in Sweet Life and shows up in just two short episodes, haunting Igor's nightmares (start of 1-1 and end of 3rd episode) Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Nikita Pankilov as IgorIgor (played by Nikita Pankilov) - he's still as energetic and lively, but his financial situation has taken a hit. He's trying to start a new club with Vadiq and/or Misha, but he's got no place to live, no money, and no job, and he's still as reckless as ever.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Darya Belyusova as MishaMisha (played by Darya Belyusova) - she just can't seem to wrap her head around the fact that she's completely unattractive to men. She's frantically trying to figure out what's wrong with her.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Olga Medyntich as SofiaSofia (played by Olga Medyntich) - Vadiq and Natasha's neighbor, a 68-year-old woman according to the horoscope of local Irina. She's frantic about being broke and can't decide whether to get a bigger bust or find a boyfriend.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Alexander Robak as VovaVova (played by Alexander Robak) - Sofia's husband, one of the top 100 gold miners. He suffers from constipation.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Lukerya Ilyashenko as LeraLera (played by Lukerya Ilyashenko) - there's nothing left of her former chic and glamour, her life is flying down a slope in Khimki, and there are no bright prospects on the horizon. The writers should be ashamed of ruining this character!
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Anatoly Gorichev as Uncle TolyaUncle Tolya (played by Anatoly Gorichev) - he's like a tick that's stuck to Lera and won't let go in any way possible. What a sly one.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Roman Maysky as VadikVadik (played by Roman Maysky) - after the second season, he lost his easy money-making gig and is now looking for ways to earn a living without doing much. His thoughts about sex are in the past, just like the dozens of kilos he's lost.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Maria Shumakova as NatashaNatasha (played by Maria Shumakova) - she's become even more aware of her own charm and is now the new number two at Lera's sex and potential escort business. The Maximov family only mentioned their kids in the first episode.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Anastasia Mesykova as YuliaYulia (played by Anastasia Mesykova) - a leftover from the first season that they just stopped showing.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Eduard Matsaberidze as TigranTigran (played by Eduard Matsaberidze) - same thing as Yulia.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Anton Denisenko as MarkMark (played by Anton Denisenko) - what a transformation! He went from being a closeted guy (Season 1) to a latent gay (Season 2) to a full-on latent bedbug enthusiast who's always snapping pics on Instagram.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Danila Dunayev as RomanRoman (played by Danila Dunayev) - they basically phased him out in the first episode since Mark's not gay anymore.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Nina Guseva as KsyushaKsyusha (played by Nina Guseva) - she's Mark's empathetic colleague who took him in for a bit, but she's also super high-maintenance.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Alexey Varushchenko as ArtyomArtyom (played by Alexey Varushchenko) - he's this young lawyer trying to woo Misha for reasons I'm still not clear on.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Maxim Bryzgalin as MaxMax (played by Maxim Bryzgalov) - the corporate host that Mark and Ksyusha met in the forests of the Sverdlovsk region.
Sweet Life 3 Season Finale | Irina Morozova as Irina the PolicewomanIrina (played by Irina Morozova) - the police officer-astrologer who created a personal horoscope for Vadi.
::: What I like and dislike about the Sweet Life series :::
"Plus" of Sweet Life:
- great actors like Lukerya Ilyashenko and Anton Denisenco;
- actors aren't afraid to show up completely naked on screen. That's a rarity in movies, let alone TV series;
"Minus" of Sweet Life:
- Eduard Matsaberidze (Tigran) is absolutely terrible. He's bad in all three seasons;
- the story is left unresolved, and as a result, I'm left with a bunch of unanswered questions. Where does Vadi/Natasha get all that money to give away? What does Vadi do for a living? What's this mythical house on Ostozhenka? Where's the psychologist-strip tease artist? Why is Sasha so dim-witted? Why do the viewers put Sasha through those terrible dance performances when it's clear she's not good at dancing? Has Vadi cured his STI? And so on and so forth.
I've gotta say, the show's operator was trying a bit too hard to be flashy, and it ended up leaving the actors with pretty limited scope for their characters. I mean, can you imagine how tough it was to find decent plotlines?
"Sweet Life" TNT series::: Should you watch season 3 of TNT's "Sweet Life" or not? :::
Personally, I think watching the third season of 'Sweet Life' is pointless. What's the point of the finale? The finale is what the characters have been building up to all this time, the resolution of the plot, the resolution of the intrigue. What's left of the intrigue after season two? Is it just whether Roman will seduce Mark or not? All the other storylines are so boring and bland that they leave me feeling down. The further I go, the more disgusting the main characters become, willing to do anything for the sound of wads of cash, hearse on wheels, and square meters of living space. Ugh, those aren't the kind of shows they called 'Deals' and 'Concerned'! By the way, I noticed that all three TNT masterpieces were made on roughly the same template, and the characters'/actresses' images just get shuffled from one soap opera to another. 'Deals' too! To cut a long story short, the third season won't bring anything new or interesting - everything was said in the first season, and the third is just a farewell tour, an attempt to squeeze the last drops of ratings from what was once a successful project. Did you know that there's going to be a prequel-play 'Sweet Life. Rewind' and a film that will actually be the REAL finale of the whole story? Now you know :-)
"Sweet Life" TNT series I've given the series "Changes" three stars and I'd only recommend watching the first season, which is all fun and games. All the episodes are available to stream online in high quality on the official series page.
