Editor's Summary
I picked up some new tea flavors from Akbar to mix things up at home and work, but the Strawberry Cream tea didn't quite live up to my expectations. The packaging is nice, with a cute strawberry design on the cardboard box, and the individual packets are compact. However, the flavor just didn't have the intensity I was hoping for. I've added dried strawberries to tea before, and it's just not the same. It's an okay tea, but not worth the hype. If you're in the market for a new tea flavor, you might want to try this one out, but don't expect it to blow you away.
Specifications
I'm a sucker for convenience, so I often grab tea packets for both home and work use. Last time, I decided to mix things up and try some new flavors from Akbar. I'm going to focus on one of them in this review - Strawberry Cream.
The tea comes in a nice cardboard box with a strawberry design, and inside, you'll find 25 individual packets.
The packets themselves are pretty compact, so you can't see what's inside, but it's not a big deal since it's all clearly labeled as an aromatic tea.
I've added dried strawberries to tea before, and it just doesn't give the same intensity of flavor and aroma. But with this Akbar tea, the strawberry scent is really strong as soon as you open a packet.
The flavor itself, however, is pretty mild, and I don't really get any sense of the strawberry or cream notes. I was expecting a bit more oomph from the flavor, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me.
On the plus side, it brews up nicely and has a decent color, but it's not particularly strong. The strawberry flavor is pretty subtle, and I'm not getting the cream notes I was hoping for.
That being said, the tea does have a nice aroma, and it's definitely a good value for the price. If you're a fan of mild tea flavors, you might enjoy this one, but if you're looking for something with a bit more punch, you might want to keep looking.
