Shrimps & Burgers, Yekaterinburg

I stopped by Shrimps & Burgers in Yekaterinburg and was blown away by the value for money - you get a ton of flavor without breaking the bank. The menu's simple, but the shrimps and burgers are on point. It's a great spot for a quick, affordable meal if you're in the area.

A Second Chance for Srimps and Burgers - My Experience and Honest Review

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been living nearby, so I've been dropping by Srimps and Burgers for lunch and dinner with friends quite often. The verdict: the burger with shrimp was a hit, but we finished the other because we were starving and didn't want to waste it - after all, we'd paid for it. For the next 3-5 months, I only went to the restaurant for business lunches. I've really grown to love their tom kha with chicken. The prices during lunchtime are more appealing, which is a big plus. But, there's a catch - the service can be slow during peak hours. I'd say Srimps and Burgers offers great value for money, especially with their lunch specials. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it perfect for a night out with friends or a family dinner. I've tried their vegan and gluten-free options, and they're surprisingly good. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Srimps and Burgers for anyone looking for a delicious meal at a reasonable price.

I've been living nearby, so I've been dropping by Srimps and Burgers for lunch and dinner with friends quite often.
First time we went there was based on online reviews. We saw that the restaurant had a good rating and lots of positive reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the burger with shrimp, lemonade, and the burger with beef and mushrooms.
We recently had some friends from another city come to visit, and on their way home, they saw the bright sign and convinced us to stop by.
We decided to try their signature tom yum, burger with mushrooms, and Cherry Bomb. For drinks, we had beer (0.3L bottle) and Prickly Pear Lemonade.
Now, let's go through each dish in order
Signature Tom Yum
The tom yum was quite decent. There were plenty of mushrooms (button mushrooms), not too many non-edible elements, and 2-3 halves of cherry tomatoes and 2 large prawns. It wasn't too spicy, but there wasn't much soup either. The portion of rice that came with it was incredibly small (visible in the photo).
As for the taste, it was definitely tom yum, but not spicy at all. It's something you could serve to kids. Either we forgot to ask for some spiciness or you have to request it when ordering - we're still unsure. We ate it as is, but a good tom yum should have at least a hint of spiciness.
Cherry Bomb with beef patty
The Cherry Bomb was spot on. The bun was freshly baked, not some pre-made thing from a nearby store. The patty was cooked to perfection - nice and juicy, just the way I like it. Although, we've had some dry patties in the past.
The toppings and fillings didn't disappoint either. It was a seriously tasty burger.
A cutaway viewThe mushroom burger (which we ordered again on our second visit).
This mushroom burger was a game-changer. It was huge, juicy, with just the right amount of toppings and sauces. It was a world of difference from our first visit.
We're definitely coming back.
Looking back, I'm pretty confident that this place is great, and the food is delicious. I wouldn't have said that after our first visit, though.
I'm not sure what changed, but I'm hoping it's for the better. I'm giving it a high rating, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things are now running smoothly. If we have another bad experience, I'll update this review. But for now, I don't want to believe that it was just a fluke. And with all the positive reviews out there, I think that says a lot.
Drinks
Alcoholic
They've got a decent selection, and I'm sure everyone will find something they like. They'll even open a bottle for you.
Lemonades
I tried one of their lemonades, which they make in-house. The spicy peach flavor was a great choice - it's sweet, but not too sweet, and has just the right amount of spice. Not too fizzy, not too much ice. It's a really good drink, especially in a 0.5L size.
About the service
The service here is top-notch. The staff are super friendly and efficient, they know the menu inside out and can even help you choose something if you're feeling unsure. They're happy to tell you about all the dishes, their ingredients, and the drinks and desserts on offer.
It's also great that they have a lovely outdoor seating area, even though we didn't eat there, it's always fully booked on warm days. The furniture could be a bit more comfortable, maybe some nicer chairs would be a good idea, but they do fit in with the overall style and design of the place.
The waiters are super quick to bring out the menus, take your order, and get the food out to you. There are no long waits for the bill either.
Menu
The menu is pretty small, but you can check it out on their website, which I think is really convenient. You can browse through it beforehand and see what they have to offer. The same goes for the business lunch menu - it's all clearly listed with ingredients and prices. This is especially helpful during business lunches, when you can plan ahead and make your order straight away, without wasting any time.
Even when it's fully booked, they manage to get the food out to you within 15 minutes (in the busiest hours).
Bonus system
I almost forgot to mention the bonus system. You can sign up for it by downloading their app from their website. It's a points-based system - you get 5% of your bill credited to your account, but this can go up to 10% in some cases. For a week before and after your birthday, you can earn up to 20% in points. You can use these points to pay 50% of your bill.
The system is super transparent and easy to use. Plus, the rewards rates are pretty sweet, especially when you mark your birthday. It's a small thing, but it's a nice touch.
My experience at the restaurant and the verdict
Despite not being super stoked to go to this place and having a not-so-great first impression, I'm confident in saying that the restaurant is worth checking out.
I'd definitely recommend it to friends.
I'm already planning to go back, and I want to do it ASAP to solidify my positive impression (fingers crossed it stays that way).
Pros and Cons
The pros are:
super fast and friendly service, delicious food, local craft lemonades that are a game-changer,there's a patio area, you can check out the main menu and business lunch menu on their website, the rewards system is easy to understand. The cons are:
the interior design is a bit quirky (although I'm sure some people would love it),parking can be a challenge, especially on weekend evenings, the business lunch prices could be a bit more reasonable (but hey, that's just my two cents).Overall, it's a solid spot.
Thanks for checking out my review – I hope it was helpful.
