Oxygen Stain Remover Soo-Yun by Faberlic

I've tried my fair share of stain removers, but this Soo-Yun Concentrate from Faberlic really delivers. Its oxygen-based formula is gentle on fabrics yet tough on stains - it's a win-win! The Soo-Yun Concentrate is a great value for money, and it's super easy to use. Just apply the solution to the stain, let it sit for a bit, and then wash as usual. I've been really impressed with the build quality of this product, and the customer support from Faberlic has been top-notch - they're responsive and helpful.

I Was Hyped for This Stain Remover, but It's Not as Magical as I Thought

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was really stoked to try the Soo-Yun Oxy Crystals stain remover, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype. As someone who's become super skeptical of trendy products, I was hoping for a game-changing cleaning experience. Unfortunately, this product didn't deliver. The multi-functional formula sounds amazing on paper, but in practice, it's just not that effective. I've tried it on a few tough stains, and it's left me feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. I was expecting a miracle worker, but what I got was a product that's just okay. If you're looking for a reliable stain remover, you might want to keep looking. I've tried it on a few different surfaces, and it's worked okay on some, but not great on others. It's also taken a while to work, which can be frustrating when you're in a hurry. The price is reasonable, especially considering the multi-functional formula, but it's not worth the hype. I've used it for a few weeks now, and I'm still not impressed. The packaging is sleek and modern, which is always a plus, but it's not enough to make up for the product's shortcomings. I've tried to use it on protein-based stains, but it's just not effective. If you're looking for a stain remover that's going to get the job done, you might want to look elsewhere. I've tried to use it on a few different types of stains, and it's just not worked well. I've also noticed that it can leave a residue on some surfaces, which is a bit of a bummer.

A Disappointing Experience with the Soo-Yun Oxy Crystals Stain Remover
Hello everyone!
I've already ranted enough about my feelings towards over-the-top product announcements with an Asian twist in my review of Faberlic's 'Kumkquat and Pitaya' Soo-Yun hand soap gel-concentrate, which is part of the 'Soo-Yun' line.
The Korean art of home care
The Soo-Yun line is a line of home care products created with Korean traditions in mind. These are convenient, multi-functional cleaning products that make cleaning up quick, easy, and a breeze. The complex formulas are developed using special combinations of traditional Korean cleansing components.
I used to be the kind of person who'd buy something without hesitation just because of its design, but now I expect to see results. My skepticism grows with each new purchase. Inspiration from tradition alone isn't enough to win over the hearts of busy homemakers like me.
Soo-Yun Oxy Crystals
The design is pretty flashy, if I'm being honest. The Korean-style writing keeps it feeling optimistic and makes me think it's going to work. I'm reminding myself that this product is made in Russia, not Korea. The team at Faberlic did a decent job trying to cash in on the popularity of Asian household chemicals (even though they're not that great at what they do). I ordered the oxygen-based stain remover with the code 30015. During the promotional period with registration, it cost 8.07 BYN, and in the catalog, it was 10.09 BYN. The bottle size is 50 grams.
The bottle is big enough to hold a lot of granules. There's no tamper-evident seal.
This new product looks almost identical to the oxygen-based stain remover Extra Oxy from the Faberlic Home series. It's got the same granules, the same smell, and almost the same effect.
I've noticed some minor variations in the formula and a marketing focus on the presence of traditional Korean extracts:
Sapindus Mukorossi Fruit (soap nut extract)
It's used as a natural cleaning agent rich in saponins, which boosts the effectiveness of other cleaning components, gently and efficiently removing dirt and softening fabrics.
Portulaca Oleracea Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root (licorice root extract)
Applied to soothe and calm the skin, it smooths out the action of cleaning components, adding comfort and improving the feel of wearing clothes.
The formula breaks down to 30% or more sodium carbonate, mineral sodium salts; 15-30% oxygen-based bleach (sodium percarbonate); and less than 5% NPAs based on coconut oil, sodium salts of methylsulfonate fatty acids from coconut and palm oils, bleach activator, enzyme complex (protease, amylase, mannanase, cellulase, pectin lyase), soap nut extract (Sapindus Mukorossi Fruit Extract), portulaca extract (Portulaca Oleracea Extract), and licorice root extract (Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract).
I'd call this stain remover a concentrate, and its effectiveness barely covers the list of tasks. If I'm being honest, I'd just call it a stain remover and wouldn't expect much more. But, I'm still waiting for a miracle to happen!
Oxy Crystals Multi-action Oxygen Bleach Concentrate is a universal cleaning product that effortlessly removes stains from fabrics and hard surfaces. It's recommended for clothes, shoes, bath, kitchen, furniture, carpets, dishes, and more.

The oxygen action is noticeable from the first seconds of use.

MAIN USAGE GUIDELINES
Do not use in combination with chlorine-based products.
When washing, follow the care labels on your clothes and the washing machine manual. New items should be washed separately if the dye's durability is unknown. When using on colored or dyed items, test a small area first.
Don't use this on items with unstable dyes. Don't use it for washing wool and silk. Don't apply it to aluminum, copper, coated surfaces, oxidizing surfaces, and other materials.
Pre-treating stains: Mix the solution with water (1 part solution to 3 parts water at 40-60 °C), apply the paste to the stain for 10-20 minutes, then wash.
Soaking and bleach whitening fabrics: Dissolve 20g of the solution in 1 liter of water at 40-60 °C, then add the laundry: colored for no more than 1 hour, white and light-colored for no more than 4 hours, then wash.
Washing: Add 20g of the stain remover to your laundry detergent or washing gel when loading the washing machine. For set-in and dried stains, increase the dosage to 40g. Wash.
Cleaning carpets: Mix 10g of the stain remover with 200ml of water at 40-60 °C, apply the solution to the stained area, avoiding excessive moisture. Leave it on for 15-30 minutes. Then, scrub the cleaned surface with a clean, slightly damp cloth.
Cleaning floors, windowsills, and other hard, washable surfaces: Dissolve 10-15g of the powder in 5 liters of water at 40-50 °C. Use the resulting solution to clean the surface. If necessary, rinse with a cloth soaked in clean water.
Cleaning kitchen surfaces (sinks, plates, ceramic tiles, thermoses, removing tea and coffee stains): Sprinkle the solution on a wet surface, add hot water, and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Then, remove the grime with a damp cloth, and rinse with water.
1 tablespoon is equivalent to 17 grams of the stain remover. Using the Faberlic measuring spoon (item 30073), 1 tablespoon is 55 grams of the stain remover.
I'm not sure about others, but there are some application methods that are new to me. I've never used a product like this to clean a thermos, sink, stove, and the like. As for cleaning carpets, I'm skeptical - there are better products for that.
I'm not sure I'd go to the trouble of using the stain remover according to all the instructions, even if it's super effective. One thing is wiping down surfaces, but another is scrubbing away at all these different surfaces, especially in the kitchen. You always worry about damaging the glossy finish with undissolved particles.
The stain remover is pretty finicky when it comes to tackling old and stubborn stains. I don't even think I can come up with a rule for which surfaces it works on and which it doesn't.
The stain remover takes a real beating when it comes to washing kitchen towels. With a good soaking, the results are great, but even then, not all stains come out if you stick to the 'pre-wash + main wash at 60/90 degrees' cycle.
The yellowing is taken care of decently, no better or worse than other alternatives. However, I'm having trouble assessing the overall dullness, as a cost-cutting measure, the fabric isn't pre-whitened during production, and many items already have a greyish tint that only gets worse with use. The colors aren't always stable, which really messes things up. Now I'm not washing without the specialized snag-preventing cloths (SoLoMo Plus Stain Remover Cloths from Japan and Faberlic Snag-Preventing Cloths).
The stain remover does a great job with unpleasant odors. I don't need to add those fragrance boosters, which I'm not a fan of on kitchen towels.
This product has really impressed me with how it handles washing curtains (white and colored ones) that hang in the kitchen. The color doesn't fade, but the greasy grime, dust, and other unwanted stuff gets completely dissolved.
I've got to be honest, I'm not a fan of using the Oxy Crystals solution for every cleaning task. Sure, it's okay to use it to clean the fridge or dissolve grease on cookware, but I just don't see the need to use it as a jack-of-all-trades. It's not as effective at breaking down grease as dedicated oven cleaners or even regular dish soap.
I'd rather take the time to apply a grease-cutting gel to surfaces like countertops, stove tops, and oven racks, let it sit, and then wash it off normally. It's just easier and more effective in my opinion.
As for preventing mold and mildew, cleaning between ceramic tile joints, or cleaning sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and shower stalls, I'm not convinced this is the best approach. I've found that not every specialized cleaner can handle the job, and this powder just doesn't cut it. It might work okay once or twice, but it's not suitable for regular use.
And don't even get me started on cleaning utensils and silverware. I mean, come on, I don't want to put that in my mouth and then try to clean it with soap.
I've found that cleaning floors with a disinfectant only makes sense right by the entrance, where you tend to track in outdoor shoes. After using it on laminate floors, I notice streaks are left behind, and having to rinse the floors is just an extra hassle for homeowners.
However, I've been impressed with how well it works for cleaning white shoe soles, washing shoelaces, and removing odors from athletic shoes.
As for tackling limescale buildup in washing machines and dishwashers, I haven't been able to assess it since I've been using other products that prevent limescale from forming.
Cleaning pet litter boxes (including removing stains and odors) hasn't been well-received by my feline friend, who's been living in the building's common area for 5 years. She doesn't like to be cooped up, and people have taken on the task of cleaning up after her. I do appreciate how well it works for antibacterial cleaning of cleaning tools, like mops and dusters, by soaking them.
There are some features of this product that I may never get to try, simply because I don't have the time or interest for hobbies like:
Cleaning aquariums
Cleaning vases and plant pots
I find it's best to use gloves when working with the solution, but I've had instances where I didn't use them. If you're in a rush, you might not experience any irritation. However, if you're doing a thorough job, it's better to wear gloves to avoid drying out your skin and nails.
When you put too much pressure on one product, its quality will eventually suffer. The marketing team should have been more realistic about its capabilities, as it's only a matter of time before customers start to nitpick and find flaws.
At the end of the day, I only use the stain remover for washing and soaking – everything else falls into place on its own.
