Hello there!
I decided to give my kitchen a complete makeover about two years ago.
Before that, I made a list of everything I disliked about other people's kitchens.
I'm not a fan of those super-expensive built-in kitchens from trendy German brands.
And I hate cheap appliances that look like they'll fall apart any minute.
I spent ages choosing between different appliance manufacturers for my kitchen.
And I finally settled on Smeg.
Smeg is an Italian appliance manufacturer that started its journey in 1948.
The company was founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni in Guastalla, a town in the Emilia region of Italy.
The company's name is an abbreviation of Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla, which translates to Metal Enamel Factories of Emilia Guastalla.
About two years ago, I bought the Smeg KLF01PGEU Electric Kettle.
The kettle's design is straight out of the 50s.
And it fits perfectly into my kitchen's retro interior.
The Smeg KLF01PGEU Kettle has some amazing features that sold me on it.
First off, the pastel green color is gorgeous.
And the stainless steel body is top-notch.
The soft opening lid is super convenient.
And the 360-degree rotating base makes it easy to use.
The automatic shut-off at 100°C is a must-have for me.
And the automatic shut-off when removed from base is a nice touch.
The cord storage in base is a great feature.
And the removable and washable stainless steel filter is a major selling point.
The non-slip feet keep the kettle stable.
And the external dimensions are 246 x 223 x 170 mm.
I was blown away by the build quality of this kettle.
The design is sleek, and the materials used are top-notch.
You won't find any defects in the casting.
And it looks amazing.
No need to worry about lettering falling off here.
I've seen that happen in previous reviews of this model.
The Smeg Kettle Lid is one of my favorite features.
It flips open with a press of the button on the lid itself.
And it's made sturdy and very well.
So it won't break down over time like those cheap kettles.
The Smeg Kettle Filter is also a huge improvement over the cheap kettles.
It uses a metal filter, which is a major selling point.
And it's a huge improvement over the polyethylene filters used in cheap kettles.
Those filters break down over time.
And they're a hassle to clean with descaling agents.
And if you have hard water, the polyethylene filter will become useless quickly.
The power button and water level indicator are convenient and stylish.
It's turned on by a lever, which is quite convenient.
And the water level indicator is securely attached to the kettle.
So it won't leak over time.
The Smeg Kettle Base is sturdy and well-designed.
The base is made of high-quality steel.
And it will last a lifetime.
The kettle's feet don't slip.
And the cord wraps up for storage.
Overall, I think this kettle is a great value for money.
The price of around 12,000 rubles is a bit steep.
But considering the quality and features, I think it's worth it.
I've also been impressed with the Ankarsrum Original Assistent AKM6220 stand mixer.
Check out my review for more info.
If you're in the market for a charcoal grill, the Weber Master-Touch GBS 57cm is a great option.
Thanks for reading, and happy shopping!
