Prioskolie Frozen Chicken Thighs

I've tried a bunch of frozen chicken options, but Prioskolie's frozen broiler chicken thighs really stand out. They're perfect for a weeknight dinner or a weekend BBQ - just toss 'em on the grill, in a pan, or in the oven and you're good to go. And the best part? They're a total value for money. You get the convenience of frozen chicken with the taste of fresh, all at a price that won't break the bank. Plus, they're super versatile - I've even used them in a stir-fry or two. If you're looking for a quick and easy meal that's still packed with flavor, Prioskolie's frozen chicken thighs are a solid choice.

Hello!
I've been on a mission to save some cash on chicken, so I've started buying whole birds instead of pre-cut parts. It's a bit more work, but it's worth it - I can get almost the same amount of meat as I would from store-bought packs, but at a significantly lower cost. Plus, I like having control over how I use every part of the bird.
I don't have any brand loyalty, so I usually go for whatever's on sale. This chicken from Priorskoe, based in Novgorod Oblast, caught my eye because of the discount. I was curious to see how it would compare to other brands I've tried.
Manufacturer: Priorskoe, Novgorod Oblast
Weight: 1500 grams
Price on sale: 89 rubles per kilogram
Shelf life: not more than 7 days at -2 to +2 degrees Celsius
Packaging. The chicken came wrapped in a polyethylene bag with the manufacturer's logo and product description on a green background. It looked like a standard issue packaging job, but I was relieved to see that the chicken itself was properly wrapped and sealed.
Priorskoe ChickenThere's a store label with the production date and expiration date below that, along with a weight sticker. I appreciate the transparency, even if it's just a standard label.
Priorskoe ChickenThe back of the package has more detailed information on storage conditions, including the manufacturer's address and a label indicating that the product has been inspected. It's good to know that someone's checking the quality of the chicken.
Priorskoe ChickenDespite being labeled as chilled, this chicken is actually stored in the freezer section of the store. I'm not sure why they didn't just label it as frozen, but it's not a big deal.
I thawed it at room temperature at home, and here's what the carcass looks like.
Priiskolye Broiler Chicken Carcass ChilledThere were some stiff pieces of feather left around the area, but I was pleased to find that after thawing, the carcass hadn't lost any volume, and there was only a tiny bit of bloody water. When I unpacked it, there wasn't any unpleasant smell – it just smelled like meat.
Priiskolye Broiler Chicken Carcass ChilledPriiskolye Broiler Chicken Carcass ChilledI always thoroughly rinse the carcass under water, and more blood and tiny pieces of innards came out from inside. Interestingly, this is similar to what happened with that expensive 'Petyelnka' chicken I had before – a lot of stuff comes out from inside the chicken. At this point, I don't see any difference between more expensive brands.
After all the rinsing, the carcass looked more appetizing.
Priiskolye Broiler Chicken Carcass ChilledPreparation.I don't like baking the whole carcass – my husband eats the breast, and I prefer the juicier meat. As a result, the back always stays, and I put the chicken skeleton in the fridge, hoping to use it later. But nope, I always end up throwing away the mummy chicken skeleton.
I plan my menu in advance and divide the carcass into the required pieces. If I'm frying the chicken, I remove the skin right away, and if I'm boiling it, I do it after boiling. It's just easier that way.
Chicken Breast from Priorskoye Farm, FrozenI have to admit, I've been cutting off the wings and giving them to my cats as a treat. It's way easier to feed them outside, or they'll make a mess all over my kitchen floor. My cats can't even eat in one spot - they need to drag their food across the whole floor.
Chicken Breast from Priorskoye Farm, FrozenFor the breast, I'm planning to make a sort of pilaf on the skillet. I chop it up into pieces and throw it on the skillet. Then I add some onion with a dash of paprika and sauté until it's half-cooked.
Chicken Breast from Priorskoye Farm, FrozenChicken Breast from Priorskoye Farm, FrozenNext, I add some seasonings and lay out the pre-cooked rice. In a cup, I dissolve a Maggi cube and pour it over the rice with some chicken broth. After about 10 minutes, my delicious dinner is ready.
Broyler Chicken Breast from Prioskolie, ChilledI always start by boiling the chicken parts separately, then shred it and add it to the soup later. It's just easier and tastes better that way.
Broyler Chicken Breast from Prioskolie, Chilled
I've got some leftover chicken breast, which I'll stash in the freezer for a future soup. It's a good way to make the most of the product.
Broyler Chicken Breast from Prioskolie, Chilled
The chicken breast from Broyler has won me over, and I'd definitely recommend it to others. One thing I really like about this chicken is that it doesn't have any off-putting smells, which is a big plus for me. When I thawed the chicken, it didn't shrink down to half its original size, so I know it wasn't water-injected.
The flavor is great, and it's on par with other brands I've tried. You can grill it, boil it, or do whatever you like - the meat comes off the bones easily.
I think Priorskoe is offering a great value for the price, and I'll be back for more.
