Editor's Summary
I recently switched my cat Vasiliisa to Premier Pet Food after she got spayed, and I was pleasantly surprised by its solid build quality and decent flavor options. However, my feline friend's a hunter at heart, and she needs that animal protein. While Premier's ingredient list checks most boxes, I'm not a fan of their limited flavor options. Convenience-wise, it's a breeze to grab at the pet store or online. Premier's a solid choice, but don't expect too many flavor options. I'm considering sticking with it, though – it's worth every penny for the quality and convenience, and I've found it's a good value for money.
Specifications
I recently switched my cat Vasiliisa to a new food after she got spayed, and let me tell you, it wasn't as easy as I thought it'd be. With so many options out there, I figured it'd be a breeze to pick a new one that meets my standards and my cat's preferences.
But it turns out, not all manufacturers share the same values when it comes to ingredients. I came across some kibbles made from wheat flour and meat-and-bone meal - what's that, a cookie recipe?
So, my criteria for choosing a new food were pretty simple:
First and foremost, the ingredient list. My cat's a hunter, after all, and she needs that animal protein. No artificial flavor enhancers, please!
Convenience was also a top priority - I want to be able to grab it easily, either at a local pet store or through online marketplaces. I usually buy my cat's food at the pet store, to be honest.
My friend, who feeds her own cats Premier, helped me pick out a new food. She recommended the sterilized cats with chicken formula.
So, I chose Premier for sterilized cats with chicken.
Premier cat foodThe basics:
The 2kg bag costs around 2200 rubles in my city, while the 400g bag is about 580 rubles.
I buy it at the local pet store.
The packaging is great - it's sturdy and has a convenient clip to keep it airtight. If you press the clip down properly, the food won't get stale. But when I buy the 2kg bag, I don't use the whole thing - I transfer some to a smaller container first, so it doesn't go bad.
Premier cat foodIt's an imported food, made in Belgium, just like Grandorf.
Let's take a look at the ingredient list:

I think the formula is really good, but it's a bit lacking in sub-products. At least in my opinion, that's why I buy wet food with sub-products to balance it out. At first, I thought it was still missing cartilage ingredients, but then I saw that the formula includes chondroitin, so I'm not too worried. But I do give my cat chicken cartilage as a treat.
Appearance, smell of the food:
The kibble is medium-sized, not too big or too small. In reality, it's a bit lighter in color than the picture.
The food isn't greasy.

Premier cat foodThe smell is hard to describe, but to me, it's not unpleasant. My friend says it smells like fried potatoes. If you think about it and try to identify the smell, you can kind of pick up on the fried potato flavor.
Overall, it's a decent food.
Palatability. Appearance of the animal and my impressions:
My cat definitely loves this food. Vasiliy's already got tired of waiting for me to take a picture of her food, she's come to take her bowl.

However, I've noticed that when a large pack is almost finished, my cat seems to get tired of the taste. It's not that the food is stale, it's just that my cat wants something else. That's why I usually replace this pack with another food and then finish off the remaining food later.
I do rotate between 2-3 different foods from different manufacturers. My cat won't eat the same food every day.
There are no issues with the litter box, but I think this food might not be suitable for cats prone to constipation. It might be a bit dry for them, but that's just my opinion.
Vasiliy's coat is looking great. It's not clumping, not getting matted, and it's shiny.
Her weight is stable. Although after the spaying, she seemed to gain some weight, but now I don't notice it. She's got a bit of a belly, but it's not getting any bigger or smaller.
For now, this food is working out for us and Vasiliy.
Premier cat foodAnd one more thing I've noticed - this food isn't advertised, there are no discounts on it, and it's always fresh in the store. I think the cost includes the food, packaging, and logistics, without any advertising or marketing.
Now that I've used it for a week, I've got a better feel for how it performs in real-life situations. The build quality has been a highlight for me - the buttons feel solid and don't wobble around when you press them. I've also been impressed with the battery life, which has lasted longer than I expected. I've been using it for tasks like checking emails, browsing the web, and watching videos on the go, and it's handled everything without any issues.
