Pilsner Urquell Beer

This Czech lager's been around since 1842, and for good reason - it's a tried-and-true classic that always delivers on rich flavor and crisp finish. Pilsner Urquell's been perfecting their brew for nearly two centuries, and it shows in every sip.

You might know this beer by its Soviet-era name, 'Plzeňský Prazdroj' or 'Prazdrói', but trust me, it's still the real deal. And if you ever find yourself in a Czech restaurant, you'll spot it listed as 'Prazdrói' on the menu. But on the bottles and cans, it's labeled as 'Pilsner Urquell', which is pretty cool.
The fact that it's been brewed in Russia under license in the past explains why you might see it at a higher price point. But now, it's made exclusively in the Czech Republic, which is a big plus.
I picked up a bottle for around 100 rubles at 'Pyaterochka', which is a steal considering the quality. In fact, the price is around 90 rubles at 'Vinalab', but it's a bit more expensive elsewhere.
Worth every penny, if you ask me. The price may seem a bit steep, but it's a small price to pay for a beer that's this good.
The density is pretty low at 11.75%, but the 4.4% ABV makes it a refreshing drink for hot days. It's got a classic look to it, with a rich amber color and a decent head.
When it's chilled, it's perfect for a hot summer day – it's invigorating and gives you a boost. I found myself reaching for it again and again.
The unique Saaz hops used in the brewing process give it a rich, distinctive flavor that's not easy to forget. There's a noticeable hoppy bitterness that lingers in your mouth – some people might not like that, but I think it's a game changer. It's a flavor that's hard to put into words, but it's definitely one of a kind.
My only gripe is the price – a bit over a euro. It's higher than some other brands, but when you're in Prague, you'll notice it's actually cheaper, just not by much. Still, it's worth it for the taste alone.
