A Desperate Measure: PALACH to the Rescue, but with Some Caveats

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'll be the first to admit it: I'm terrified of cockroaches. When I discovered I had a problem in my apartment, I was at my wit's end. That's when I turned to PALACH, a desperate measure that ultimately proved to be a game-changer. But, as with anything, there are some caveats to consider. With a price point of 80 rubles per bottle (when buying 10), I was skeptical, but I'm glad I gave it a try. The packaging might be small, but it's well-made and effectively labeled. One thing that did catch me off guard was the difficulty in finding it to buy - sometimes it's like they're trying to keep it under wraps. But, when you do get your hands on it, the results are well worth it. I've been using PALACH for a few weeks now, and I've noticed a significant reduction in cockroach sightings. It's also been a lifesaver for my pets, who were getting stressed out by the constant infestations. Of course, there are some downsides to consider - the formula can be a bit harsh on my skin, and I've had some issues with the bottles leaking. But overall, I'm really happy with the results I've seen, and I would definitely recommend PALACH to anyone struggling with cockroach problems.

A Desperate Measure: PALACH to the Rescue, but with Some Caveats
I never thought I'd be writing this review, but after a terrifying cockroach infestation in my apartment, I'm here to share my experience with PALACH. It was a summer evening when I first spotted the unwelcome guests on my couch. I brushed it off as a one-time thing, but when they showed up again a couple of weeks later, this time on my bedding, I knew I had a problem.
I'm not proud to admit it, but I'm absolutely terrified of insects. The thought of those creepy-crawlies crawling all over me while I sleep is my worst nightmare. So, when I found out we had a cockroach problem, I was a wreck. I started sleeping in clothes, but even that didn't give me peace of mind.
We tried to get rid of them with some spray and essential oils, but it didn't work. That's when I went online and found PALACH. I was skeptical about the price, but 80 rubles per bottle (when buying 10 bottles) wasn't too bad, so I decided to give it a try.
The packaging looks pretty solid - small, but well-made bottles with good labeling and holograms. I don't know why there's such secrecy when selling it, but I'm glad we were able to get our hands on it.
We bought 10 bottles for a one-room apartment and diluted the liquid with water, as the salesman advised. We started the treatment, spraying the solution everywhere, especially on furniture, moldings, and cornices. The smell of PALACH is noticeable, but not unpleasant. Just sharp. You can stay in the room, at least it doesn't make you feel sick, you don't faint, and you don't crawl on the wall.
But the peace of mind is short-lived: pretty soon, a clear mucus starts flowing from your nose and eyes. There are no unpleasant sensations (burning, etc.) - it's just actively starting to drip from your nose. Adults can handle it, but it's best to remove children and pets from the house during the treatment, because you never know what might happen.
Treating the apartment with PALACH, of course, we couldn't judge whether there would be any effect. My husband didn't disassemble the sofa until later. And he didn't find any live creatures or their eggs. Below are the disgusting and terrible photos of how PALACH works against bed bugs. I don't know how to explain it from a biological and chemical point of view, but the creatures seem to start dissolving. Not completely, of course. But instead of a sitting or crawling flat body, a blurry spot appears, and only the shell and part of the body remain.
One thing that stood out to me when using PALACH was the impact it had on insects that were hiding under fabric. As you can see from the photos below, the eggs that were on the outside of the fabric were partially dissolved, while the ones under the fabric left behind dark stains that had seeped through the fabric.
It was like PALACH was causing some sort of breakdown in the insects' bodies, leading to their demise.
The insects that weren't directly sprayed with PALACH's solution would start acting like they were drunk after being exposed to its fumes, making them easier to eliminate.
When we ran out of PALACH, we made the mistake of opening the windows in the room we'd treated. We were worried the smell wouldn't dissipate, and we wouldn't be able to sleep in the apartment that night. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened, and it ended up being a lifeline for the remaining insects. So, we weren't able to completely get rid of them, and they crawled back out a month later.
That's when we decided to redo the treatment, targeting all the nooks and crannies of the apartment that we couldn't throw away (baseboards, old windows, walls, wallpaper, and furniture). We had to junk the couch, though, since we weren't sure we could get the PALACH into all its crevices and deep into the mattress.
The second time around, we didn't open the windows until we'd left for the day. We treated the room in the morning (around 10 am) and didn't come back until evening (around 8 pm). By then, the only lingering smell was a minor cosmetic one, and there was no irritation to our mucous membranes. Apparently, as the seller claimed, PALACH really does break down quickly under normal light.
We never saw any more insects after that.
In both cases, we had a cat in the apartment (39 m^2). We treated only the living room (we're a one-room apartment), locked the cat in the bathroom at the other end of the apartment, and took it with us when we left for the day. The cat wasn't affected.
If I had to give advice on getting rid of cockroaches, I'd say use PALACH for surfaces that can't be treated with steam (like furniture). For soft furniture, I'd recommend a steam generator, since I'm still not sure how deep PALACH penetrates into porous materials.
Overall, I'd say PALACH is a decent solution for getting rid of cockroaches, but it's not a magic bullet. It's a tool that needs to be used correctly and in conjunction with other methods. With the right approach, it can be an effective way to eliminate these unwanted pests from your home.
