Specifications
I've been searching for a decent savings account for a while now, but by the end of 2025, my debit card-issuing banks just weren't offering attractive interest rates on their savings accounts anymore.
It seemed like the perfect time to open a deposit account, but I've always been hesitant to use them due to their strict conditions.
I've seen Ozon Bank's offer to open a savings account multiple times, and finally, it was time to take the plunge.
🔎How to Open an Account?
The account can be opened through the mobile app, and you'll need to link your government services account and upload a photo of your passport page.
You can also have a bank representative confirm your identity, who will take a photo of your passport page themselves.
I've had an Ozon Bank card for a few years now, so the app was already installed on my phone.
The account was opened within 15 minutes of sending my passport.
🔎 A Brief Word on the 'Daily Income' Savings Account
First off, I want to mention that Ozon Bank offers two types of savings accounts.
The one that comes with a welcome interest rate of 17% requires you to earn interest on the minimum balance on your account each month.
This type of account is only beneficial if you top it up once a month, so you can earn interest from the next month onwards.
If you withdraw money from the account, you'll lose the accrued interest, and the withdrawn amount will remain in the bank for free.
This used to be the case with most savings accounts, but nowadays, this option doesn't suit me at all and is more like a deposit account.
So, my choice is the 'Daily Income' savings account with a lower interest rate, but interest is accrued daily on the minimum balance for the day.
It's essentially the same as Yandex's 'Savings' feature.
Ozon Bank savings account conditionsIn the first month, the interest rate was 13.5%.
The same savings account offers a welcome interest rate of 17%, which is only valid for two months.
The savings account is more flexible than a deposit account, not just for the client but also for the bank - the bank can change the interest rate at any time, provided they notify the client in advance.
So, in the second month, the interest rate was already 13% per annum, and it will only decrease from there.
One of the plus points of this interest rate is that you don't need to meet any conditions regarding spending and paid subscriptions.
The interest rate will remain the same regardless.
🔎 Do I Need a Premium Subscription for the 'Daily Income' Savings Account?
On the other hand, one thing that disappointed me was the offer to connect a Premium subscription.
Most banks offer an additional 1-1.5% interest rate on top of the standard rate for Premium subscribers.
Ozon Bank offers this as well, but only for the savings account with interest earned on the minimum balance, not the one with daily interest accrual.
Premium subscription offers nothing for the daily savings accountThis means the bank is more interested in clients who choose the savings account with interest earned on the minimum balance or deposit accounts.
Luckily, there's a free trial period, which I used to realize that I don't need to pay for the subscription.

🔎 Interest Calculation
Now, let's talk about interest calculation.
I'm impressed by how Ozon bank calculates interest - not only do they calculate it based on the actual balance for each day, but they also pay it out daily.
Money is credited to the savings account, and although it's not a lot, the balance on the account grows a little every day.
Savings account in Ozon bank, where interest is credited every dayI find this type of account convenient because I get a small portion of the interest for each day my money is stored in the bank.
Even a small amount will earn a small interest.
I like this scheme - I first transfer my income to the savings account, and then I withdraw the money from there as needed.
Ozon bank savings account review This way, my money is always working for me, and the more I have, the more interest I earn.
I'd rather keep 10,000 rubles on the savings account than on my card.
This habit started when scammers would constantly call me, and I've stuck to it ever since.
Savings account in Ozon bank It's much easier to save this way - I've hidden my money on the savings account, and now I don't feel like spending it on unnecessary things.
I call this 'hiding money from myself'.
Ozon bank savings account reviewYes, 54 rubles a day might not be enough to motivate me to save, but over a month, that's 1,500 rubles - a more substantial amount.
Savings account, where interest is credited dailyI like it when I can spend the accumulated interest on something small without dipping into my savings.
It's clear that Ozon bank was initially created to save on payment processing and banking fees.
As a result, the bank offers a discount when paying with an Ozon bank card, which motivates me to spend the accumulated interest on the platform.
Ozon bank Daily Savings Account🔎 Is it Safe to Keep Money on the Savings Account in Ozon Bank?
The money on the savings account is insured by the deposit insurance agency up to 1.4 million rubles.
So, there's no need to worry about the safety of your money.
One thing that caught my attention is that you can open up to 5 accounts at once, but the total amount can't exceed 1.4 million, unless you're feeling reckless.
For storing small sums, this account is actually pretty good.
🔎 The Verdict
This savings account has some definite pros:
Daily interest accrualInterest is deposited into your account every dayInterest is calculated on the daily balance at 00:00 hoursYou still get some interest even if you partially withdrawAll transactions are transparent and easy to understand
At first, this account reminded me of Yandex's 'save' feature, but they can't match the welcome interest rate of their competitors.
That's why I'm deducting a star.
Right now, the 'save' account is offering 17% for the first two months, so I'd recommend checking it out
When everyone was opening up savings accounts, we took out a mortgage at 20.3% interest. Why I think it's better than savings accounts?
